I know I shouldn’t be starting a new story, but inspiration just hit me.

Disclaimer: I don’t own Digimon just the plot. Enjoy the story or rather the prologue to the story.

Heads up: Daisuke, Kari & Takeru are the most OOC out of all of the Digidestined

Guys,

I’m sorry that I leave you only with this letter but things have changed.

My parents already know where I am and I don’t need you-any of you-following me.

I can take care of myself without you. Kari, I know you don’t feel the same way towards me as I

do you, so I guess this is goodbye. Tell T.J. that he’s still the biggest loser I know.

Thanks for the all the fun adventures, even if most of the time y’all made fun of me…

PS

V-mon is with me.

Kari frowned as she reread the letter twice over before glancing away from Davis’s childish handwriting. How could he leave when I love him so… Shaking her head Kari looked around the empty computer room in which she had spent so much time with him or rather making fun of him with the others. Where was he now? What would the others say? Not that it really mattered the team was not really a team any more.

Matt and Sora had hooked up during their senior year and were now dating. Tonight was the night Takeru had told her that Matt planned on proposing to Sora. Apart of Kari knew that this would break her brother, Tai’s heart when he heard this. For only she knew the turmoil he faced day in and day out witnessing Matt and Sora’s public affection.

Joe had already left for university. Izzy was planning on taking a full scholarship offered to him by some American university in New York. So for the moment he was going to be staying with Mimi.

Mimi was already enrolled in some fashion-model school for the gifted or rather those who could afford to fork up the cash to enroll.

Though Matt and Sora had decided to take a year off school, Tai had gone to university on a full ride surprisingly not because of his soccer skills but because of his high test scores. Tai was actually named Salutatorian of his graduating class which came as a surprise to everyone. Not even his teachers thought that his marks were that high, but indeed they were. Then he was going to be off to grad school and then into the real world.

Both Matt and Sora, because of their decision to take a year off were one year behind Tai. What bit the most for Kari was the fact that both Matt and Sora went to the same university which happened to be just around the corner from Tai’s. Kari could only imagine what it must be like for him to be so near to Sora and not be able to be with her because she was already taken. Kari had at least hoped they would have had the decency to enroll in a school far away from Tai’s undeserving eyes.

Yolie was in her first year of university with Ken and loving it. They were a match made in heaven. Of this, Kari was certain.

Cody would soon be finished with high school in a year or two.

Takeru was in the same graduating class as she was. Kari was also sure that Takeru was going to pop the question to her soon enough. Sora had winked at her once or twice during a double date she had with Takeru and the older couple.

Kari herself was looking forward to the escape university would bring. With school to occupy her mind she could escape the entity that was Takeru. He was everywhere she went and she felt suffocated by his mere presence. University was a freedom Kari was sure that she would never deny herself of no matter what.

But what of Davis, Daisuke? What about his schooling and life here in Japan? Where could he have possibly gone without her? Why would he leave her to the clutches of her tormentor Takeru?

Why oh why did her ever hook up with that whore Aya?
