The sacred arrow barely grazed his cheek leaving a burning caress in its wake. Despite the attack, Sesshoumaru remained still, his golden gaze intent on his brother.

He had achieved what he had desired for so long. He had finally brought his headstrong and defiant brother to his knees in front of him. The picture that he thought would give him immense satisfaction had given him nothing. On the contrary, he felt a tad bit guilty for reducing his brother to this.

There was no triumph coursing through his veins, nor there was any smug satisfaction that he had finally shown the hanyou his place.

His little brother was a prince and he always seemed to carry himself like one, despite his rash attitude.

Seeing his proud little brother so undone sent pain lancing through his being. His soul felt the impact of his mistake, his youkai howled in protest. He had committed a crime… some sort of sin which his soul craved to undo. But the damage was already done.

Sesshoumaru had never felt such regret in his life.

“How could you…” an angry whisper fell on his inattentive ears. The ningen miko’s aura was livid yet the Daiyoukai didn’t turn to her. He could feel the weight of all those angry gazes but he craved for his brother to lift his eyes.

Those beautiful golden eyes of his.

“He is your brother… how could you!” She all but screamed at him yet he didn’t flinch. The whole clearing fell silent after her words. His brother’s harsh breathing was the only noise breaking the tense silence.

“What satisfaction did you get? Breaking him like this?” She hissed while the monk stepped towards his brother. “You are a failure as a brother… you disgr…”

“Leave him be Kagome…” came a whisper from the hanyou. The voice was soft and melodious. Everybody shifted their eyes to rest on the hanyou. Slowly, Inuyasha stood up and walked towards Sesshoumaru, his head still bowed.

He knelt down before his brother and placed the Tetsusaiga at his feet. Not once did he lift his gaze, resignation radiated off him in waves. The scent of Inuyasha’s blood was strong, the slight sizzle of his wounds healing echoed throughout the deathly silent clearing.

Sesshoumaru watched with growing discomfort as Inuyasha bowed his head and moved his hair off his back and onto his right shoulder. The action exposed the pale skin of his slender neck. His movements seemed almost ritualistic to everyone but Sesshoumaru’s eyes widened.

“Finish this once and for all Aniue… I am yours to kill.”

The customary position the Inu-youkai took when one was sentenced to death.

Sesshoumaru’s heart stopped beating in his chest. The miko cried out in opposition but the Taijiya held her back knowing that this was not something they could interfere in.

Yet hatred towards him was blatant.

Inuyasha’s slight frame trembled and he knew it was not from fear… it was from emotions. He had offered Sesshoumaru what he desired yet Sesshoumaru found himself at a loss. His beautiful brother had never looked so angelic, practically glowing with the light of the moon. His pale skin seemed to take on a silken sheen while his hair swayed with stray winds. The crimson color of his clothes stood in sharp contrast with that white as snow appearance.

There was a childlike innocence that surrounded him and Sesshoumaru took notice of it just then. It struck him as a bolt of lightening. His brother was indeed very young… almost a child. With his mask of pride and arrogance gone, he looked so small, so vulnerable.

Sesshoumaru’s instinct screamed at him as he drew the Tokojin from his sheath once again. His youkai clawed to break free and comfort this little boy that was just as much of his father’s son as he was.

The cool blade of his evil sword touched the unmarked skin of his brother’s neck but he hesitated. His eyes narrowed at his brother, frustration and anger coursed through him. His mind and heart seemed to battle against each other.

“Forgive me Aniue.”

Sesshoumaru attention snapped back towards the boy on his knees. His ears twitching at the slight whisper.

“I am sorry for all the trouble I caused you. I am sorry as that father chose my mother as his mate. I am sorry that my mother was a ningen. I am sorry for being born. I am sorry that father gave me the Tetsusaiga.”

Inuyasha’s head remained bowed but Sesshoumaru could smell the scent of tears.

“I just wanted to live… that’s all.”

Sesshoumaru’s insides burned. That was only way he could describe the inexplicable pain that tore through his soul at the very moment. He could hear Inuyasha’s female companions choke on a sob, the scent of their tears mingled with his brother’s.

He frowned at his own emotions, unable to understand why they reacted in such a manner.

The Tensaiga rattled against his thigh, as though aware of his intentions. A warning he paid no heed to. He knew his father would never forgive him for the sin he was about to commit, his own soul would never forgive him.

But Inuyasha was a taint to their noble bloodline… Inuyasha was a taint to his name. He was responsible for the death of his father.

He brought the sword down in a mighty swing intending to sever Inuyasha’s head.

Only to stop a hair’s breadth away from the boy’s neck.

His resolve seemed to crumble when he found himself looking into those large, brilliant eyes. Sesshoumaru could feel his breath catch in his throat at the intensity of that gaze. The innocence… the vulnerability and that helplessness reflected off those eyes so clearly. Protective instincts he never knew existed came to life almost bringing him to his knees.

Those eyes… they didn’t ask him anything. They didn’t accuse him of anything. Those immensely beautiful eyes looked at him in respect and adoration and a deep seated affection. There was pain, a deep sorrow that didn’t belong to a youkai so young. There was resignation, an acceptance and a strange sort of wisdom.

“Inuyasha…” he whispered.

As though understanding his plight the hanyou gave him a small smile and lowered his head. Shielding those infernal eyes, giving the youkai some respite to breathe.

The cool blade touched pale skin once again and this time it drew blood. The Daiyoukai still seemed to hesitate.

“Inuyasha… please… stop this!” The young priestess pleaded; her voice hoarse. She didn’t want to see her beloved hanyou being slaughtered in front of her own eyes. Her trembling hand seemed to reach out for him even though there was nearly a ten feet distance between them. His brother didn’t respond. He just sat there, not even flinching when the blade pierced his skin little by little.

A simple whisper left Sesshoumaru undone and stopped his hand altogether.

“Aishiteru Sesshoumaru… ”

Everybody in the clearing stilled at that. Kagome fell to her knees sobbing, her eyes hysterical. Sango stepped forward and Miroku glared at the Daiyoukai who stood shell shocked at Inuyasha’s declaration.

Disbelief was evident on his features as he looked down at his little brother’s still bent head.

What kind of kindness was this? What kind of forgiveness was Inuyasha capable of? Here he was, trying to kill the boy for no valid reason and he still admits to loving him. What kind of being was Inuyasha? This compassion was inhuman, such love was divine. Sesshoumaru’s eyes stung as he looked down at his once proud brother, his heart threatening to burst from his chest.

Why did his brother suddenly seem so much superior? Why did he feel so inferior in the face of such benevolence? He felt as though he was the taint, he was the dark sheep.

Inuyasha was his father’s true son. Inuyasha was the most like their father. It was Inuyasha who possessed his father’s heart and soul. Sesshoumaru was just an outsider.

Inuyasha was and always will be the son most similar to the Great Inu-no-Taishou. Sesshoumaru had known that ever since he had first laid eyes on the little pup all those years ago. The Daiyoukai couldn’t take his eyes off his brother; he looked like a fallen angel. So much forgiveness, so much love, how could he have missed such an obvious trait?

Confusion met him from all sides. What should he do now? What can he do? Was he even worthy of staying in his brother’s presence?

He nearly winced as he pulled the sword away from Inuyasha’s neck. A thin line of blood marked the previously unblemished skin. Instincts screamed at him, his fingers itched to caresses those baby soft cheeks and pull the boy into a protective embrace. The aura of distress around Inuyasha was stifling. Sesshoumaru had to stop himself from following his instincts.

The regal lord straightened and looked down at Inuyasha with his icy eyes. Until he could sort out his feelings he would remain away from this gorgeous being. Closing his eyes for a moment he took deep breath.

“Your life has been spared.” That was all he said as he turned and left in a blur of white.

It was like being slapped in the face for Inuyasha. He laid his heart out in the open before his brother only to have it crushed. The hanyou took a deep shuddering breath. He was so tired… so lonely even with all his friends. They barely ever understood him, unless he spoke up and explained the reasons for his actions; he was always the one to blame.

He was getting exhausted with his life and when he had knelt in front of Sesshoumaru he had really hoped for death. He had hoped that his brother would just finish the blood feud between them once and for all.

He didn’t care for anything much now. His pride was shattered and his very soul was empty. It sounded depressing but that is how he felt.

A shiver coursed through his frame and he didn’t… couldn’t protest when Kagome pulled him into a tight embrace. He needed it. He returned it with passion, pouring all his sadness, all his pain into that one person who could somewhat understand him.

“Shh…. Inu… it’s alright, it’s alright…”

She went on muttering random words of comfort in his ear. He didn’t fully comprehend them but her smooth voice was enough to ease him. He shuddered once more and dug his face into her neck, grasping onto her sleeve. Her hands just tightened around him in support as she continued stroking his hair, trying to comfort him the best she could.

All his friends were silent but he felt no pity from them, only understanding and he was grateful for that.

It was the first and the last time they had ever seen Inuyasha cry.

Xxx

It had been what? 5 months since that incident?

During that time Inuyasha had changed so much that Kagome’s heart ached. Her beautiful, lively and soulful Inuyasha was becoming a shell that locked emotions so deep that they didn’t reflect in his eyes anymore.

Cold as a frozen river… that’s what his eyes had become.

Yes, they still carried the brilliance that could rival the stars. Those eyes still brought many demons to their knees. However, the traces of warmth that Kikyou and she had struggled to unravel had all but disappeared. All their effort had gone to waste.

To her it seemed that Sesshoumaru had committed the ultimate act of cruelty by that small uncharacteristic display of mercy.

It galled her to admit it but she knew. Inuyasha wanted to die that night. He was willing to throw away his life for Sesshoumaru and she knew that it was no ordinary love. To her it seemed Inuyasha was only destined for heartbreak.

With a soft sigh she lowered her bow. Another fight, the same outcome. Inuyasha had killed yet another one of Naraku’s puppets with effortless skill. It was the skill of a man who didn’t hesitate to kill. The one who didn’t see consequences of a life lost.

As always, she cursed Sesshoumaru who hadn’t dared to show his face in the past five months. If he had, she would have pinned him to the same tree that Kikyou had used for Inuyasha. That bastard deserved it. For once she wished that Inuyasha’s father would have been alive. She was certain that none of this would’ve happened if he were alive.

She sighed again when she saw all her friends finally lower their weapons. They hardly need to do anything these days. Inuyasha does it for them.

“Kikyou.” Inuyasha murmured and glanced sideways at the ethereal woman who used to be his love interest. Kagome briefly wondered if she could ever be as gorgeous as her. Yes, she was Kikyou’s incarnate and looked a lot like her. However, Kikyou’s beauty was beyond compare.

In human standards of course.

She had seen Inuyasha and her standing side by side and his beauty almost overshadowed Kikyou’s.

She nearly flinched at the accusing glance Kikyou gave her. The miko knew that there was something amiss with Inuyasha and she could see it. Inuyasha waited for Kikyou speak, he didn’t even bother to spare her more than a glance, he was busy observing the battle ground. That was unusual display for Inuyasha yet Kagome couldn’t bring himself to be surprised.

Kikyou frowned and looked at the hanyou. “Inuyasha, I wish to speak to you in private.”

The hanyou nodded and glanced at his friend. They all were surprised when he directed his gaze towards Kagome; “Is that alright with you Kagome?” The girl could only nod in response. Smiling slightly she whispered, knowing that it would reach Inuyasha’s ears, “You know where to find us.”

There was a barely perceptible nod in her direction before he walked away along with Kikyou.

“Why do you tolerate this Kagome? He is always follows Kikyou whenever she comes by.” Sango questioned softly as her brow furrowed in confusion at Kagome’s pinched features.

Shippo nodded and scrambled onto her shoulder, “She always brings trouble with her. Stupid Inuyasha!”

Kagome sighed sadly and sat down. She knew she couldn’t draw Inuyasha away from Kikyou.

Miroku sat down beside Sango and murmured, “But he did ask permission Sango-san… you must take that into account.” The monk seemed somewhat confused. Kagome could understand that. Inuyasha was not the one to ask permission for anything. But Kagome again couldn’t bring herself to be surprised.

Inuyasha was soon becoming a shadow of his former self. Others thought of the change as somewhat of a blessing. There were no quarrels, no sits, and no disrespectful acts. To them it was like Inuyasha finally started to behave himself.

Kagome knew better. Inuyasha was not even taking them into consideration. He just didn’t want to be bothered with their constant bickering. He spoke very little so there was really no room for him to be disrespectful. He never paid any attention to Shippo and blatantly ignored any provocation.

Inuyasha was isolating himself from others. His emotionless response to Kikyou’s presence was a reminder of that.

“That still does not make it any better. He doesn’t know that he is hurting Kagome by constantly running after Kikyou! Man the woman is dead, why can’t he swallow the fact?” Sango countered as she glanced at Kagome.

Miroku was just about to reply when Inuyasha appeared through the bushes. He went straight for the small stream in front of them and washed his hands in them.

There was no doubt about it; Inuyasha had heard the conversation between Sango and Miroku. Kagome thought that he’d ignore it, just like he usually does. However, he didn’t. After washing his hands he stood and looked at the horizon.

“Tell me Sango… if you had two brothers instead of one, would you ignore Kohaku in favor of the other? Would you let Kohaku stay with Naraku and not try to rescue him because you already have another brother to take care of?” Inuyasha questioned softly, as though knowing the answer she’d give.

“Of course not! Both of them would be my brothers!” Sango replied.

“Now Kagome, supposing we find another orphaned demon kit like Shippo would you stop loving him in favor of the other one?” Kagome looked horrified at the prospect.

“No, I wouldn’t do that.” Kagome countered, drawing Shippo into an embrace.

“What about you Miroku? If we have another demon friend, will you abandon me to favor him?” Inuyasha questioned, not bothering to look at them. The monk shook his head and said, “I wouldn’t do that Inuyasha.”

“Then why am I wrong if I wish to spend some time with the woman I was about to mate before fate led us astray?” He asked. The question left everyone speechless, even Kagome. Sango opened her mouth to say something but no words came out.

Mate, was a very strong word. Even Kagome knew that. For Inuyasha to associate that word with Kikyou proved how much he loved her. She lowered her head and closed her eyes. He was right; all of them always blamed Inuyasha for going after Kikyou because it hurt her. They never considered how much it pained him to see her walking the earth when her soul should be at peace.

“I was a child then. I was so tired of the world and she was my escape.” Inuyasha sighed and sat down by the stream. They all were silent, waiting for him to continue. Inuyasha never spoke of his past so if he was going to tell them now, they weren’t going to interrupt.

He looked up at the sky and continued, “But now… as my adolescence has nearly come to an end I realize how foolish I was. There are some things that can never ever be; Kikyou and I were one of those things.” Glancing over his shoulder at Kagome he sighed, “So are Kagome and I. This relationship can never happen.”

Everybody started in surprise. Kagome’s eyes filled with tears and Sango glared at him. Before they could say anything Inuyasha continued, “I am two hundred years old and yet I am considered a child.”

Everybody froze. Sango being a demon hunter knew demons had long lives, but she didn’t know it was this long.

“I am the son of a Daiyoukai. I am a prince of a very noble bloodline and even though Sesshoumaru hates me there is one thing he wouldn’t allow.” Sighing once again Inuyasha crossed his arms, “He wouldn’t allow me mating with a human.”

Miroku shook his head, “Inuyasha… you have no need to follow hi…”

Inuyasha cut him off. Running his claws through his hair he said, “You don’t get it. Supposing I do deny Sesshoumaru’s orders, supposing I do mate Kagome, she’d have to leave her world and settle in the western lands castle with me.”

Kagome blanched at the thought.

“I can never stay in her world, that world is not for demons. She cannot stay in this world because she has a future there.” The hanyou turned to them, his eyes cold and emotionless. “I am no fool. After Kagome dies of old age, I’ll live on and on for a hundreds of years and I’d never be able to take on another mate. The loss of a mate would drive me crazy.”

“You can always turn human with the Shikon no Tama and stay in Kagome’s time. After all, you were able to do that for Kikyou.” Sango supplied, unable to stand the sight of Kagome’s tears.

She flinched as Inuyasha glanced sharply at her. “Really now?” he drawled. “And what I am supposed to do after that?”

They were again speechless. Kagome clutched onto Shippo and took a deep breath to steady herself. She couldn’t sacrifice her family, her time and her friends in the future to be with Inuyasha yet she expected Inuyasha to give up everything he was to be with her. Was she really that selfish? Was she willing to destroy everything that Inuyasha was just because she loved Inuyasha and wanted to be with him?

She knew Inuyasha didn’t love her. It was clear to her every since that incident with Sesshoumaru.

But Inuyasha didn’t want to cause her pain. That’s the reason why he was even considering mating her. Compared to his long life, her life span was just like a fraction of a minute. Had she been thinking of herself all this time when thought he was considering Inuyasha’s emotions?

Something came into clear focus at that moment. Kagome’s eyes widened as she looked at Inuyasha in disbelief.

All this time, all of them had never thought of Inuyasha. They had never understood his nature or his emotions. Sometimes he would let them in, show them a side of himself and only then would they be able to somewhat understand him.

She could see it now… Inuyasha never explained himself. He never bothered to and they kept on assuming and believing what they thought was Inuyasha.

“Kagome is a child… what is she? Fifteen?” Glancing at the girl for confirmation he continued, “She may love me now, she may presume that her affections for me will overcome all odds but such a thing doesn’t happen. One day she’ll grow up, she may want to become something in the future… a doctor or may be something else. This relationship will constrict her immensely. Moreover, what am I supposed to do there? How do I live? I know nothing about that world and I would have to be at Kagome’s mercy there.”

Looking at them deeply he questioned, “That kind of relationship will lead to disaster.”

Kagome flinched. Shuddering at the picture Inuyasha painted for her. Her friends looked at her worriedly. Sango again glared at Inuyasha for upsetting her but her glare faltered at the sight of Inuyasha’s icy gaze.

“I want to set the record straight. I love all of you. Sango and Kagome, both of you are like sisters to me but there can be nothing more. Not now, not ever.” With that said Inuyasha stood up, “Think about it, there is a hot spring near by, have a bath. We leave for Kaede’s village in the morning.”

The girls and Shippo nodded and left quickly.

Inuyasha watched them leave before settling down by the fire Miroku made. “That was very heartless my friend. Kagome-sama will be very upset.” The monk commented carefully.

The hanyou leaned back, “Truth is a force to be reckoned with. When it comes out it shatters all disillusions and fantasies. I am not going to cater a child’s fickle emotions anymore Miroku. I have to search for my own mate.”

Miroku flinched at the ice in his tone. “I have seen Kagome’s world, you haven’t. There are boys waiting for her. They want to court her and she is a girl not a woman.”

The monk sighed. It was astonishing how true Inuyasha’s words were. The hanyou closed his eyes and said, “Kagome doesn’t love me. She just believes that she does. Love, monk, is something that she can’t even begin to comprehend. Believe me, I know.”

The serious moment was broken when Inuyasha’s slapped his neck and flattened the bloodsucking flee. The hanyou narrowed his eyes on the insect resting on his palm, “Myoga.”

“Inuyasha-sama… I wanted to inform you abo…”

“Damare.” Inuyasha interrupted as he glanced sharply at the direction of the woods. Sharp golden eyes narrowed. “You have been observing us for quite sometime. Show yourself.”

Inuyasha and Miroku tensed as the demon stepped forth. The monk’s eyes widened as he glanced at Inuyasha whose face was impassive. Myoga hid in Inuyasha’s hair but that did nothing to hide his presence.

“Myoga.” The demon stated, although his tone was bland, all of them could see the underlying threat. Inuyasha didn’t move, he glanced at the flea from the corner of his eyes and then turned to the demon.

The flea cowered and held onto Inuyasha’s hair for dear life. “Onegai Hakusetsu-sama. I did as I was told!”

The demon narrowed his eyes before looking at Inuyasha straight in the eye, “Did you know?” He questioned. The hanyou raised a brow at the youkai. He looked baffled by the hostility the demon was showing towards Myoga.

Inuyasha glanced at Myoga, “What did you do to anger the youkai Myoga?”

Silence was his reply and he narrowed his eyes. Plucking the insect from the silky strands of his hair he brought him before his eyes. “Explain.” He commanded as he set the flea down.

The retainer sighed and closed his eyes, “The youkai before you Inuyasha-sama is also a Daiyoukai. He inherited your grandfather’s lands. His name is Hakusetsu and he is your eldest brother.”

“What did you say?” The hanyou growled, his eyes narrowing in warning.

The youkai stepped forth and nodded, “Yes, it would seem that Grandfather and I given the wrong information. We were told that you had died along with your father the night you were born. Myoga, explain before I put your existence to an end.”

The flea swallowed nervously before nodding, “Lady Izayoi was afraid that Inuyasha would not be treated fairly in your grandfather’s court. She feared that Shingetsu-sama would kill Inuyasha-sama on sight.”

“What manner of foolishness is this? You should have told her otherwise. Grandfather would never do such a thing. He mourned for both their deaths for all these years.” Hakusetsu countered.

Inuyasha stayed silent throughout the conversation chose to interfere. “Myoga. I understand why you didn’t tell them, why not tell me?”

Miroku and Myoga shivered. Inuyasha’s voice was tightly controlled with rage. Narrowed eyes flashed crimson for a moment. The flea bowed numerous times in apology, “Forgive me Inuyasha-sama, but considering your relationship with Sesshoumaru-sama I didn’t think it would be wise.”

“Sesshoumaru knew?” Hakusetsu questioned sharply.

Inuyasha snorted and stood up. Resisted the urge to squash the bug and growled, “Myoga, I had better not see your face when I return or you’d find yourself at death’s doorstep.” With that he turned to leave.

He had not taken a step further before a restraining hand landed on his shoulder. “We need to talk otouto.”

Inuyasha froze at that word. Sesshoumaru had used that word many times. It was always spoken with such venom that the word seemed more like a curse to him. Listening to it spoken in such a soft manner was nearly frightening. Swallowing his nervousness he turned around and gazed directly into his supposed eldest brother’s eyes.

His heart gave a lurch of pain.

Hakusetsu looked so much like Sesshoumaru. He was a little taller than Sesshoumaru with his long silver hair braided. He had single deep lavender colored stripe on each cheek but he lacked a crescent moon on his forehead. His eyes were rich amber that was just as sharp as Sesshoumaru’s.

Inuyasha turned his eyes away not before the youkai spotted the pain that was so clear in his eyes.

“Otouto? Daijoubu ka?” A soft voice questioned and Inuyasha sealed his eyes shut.

“Why do you look so much like Sesshoumaru…?” Inuyasha whispered almost to himself, pain obvious in his tone. He didn’t look up to that face, he couldn’t. It had been five months since he saw his brother and all five months he couldn’t stop thinking about him.

He froze when a hand landed on his head and petted him. “Hasn’t Sesshoumaru taken you as a mate yet? Where is he?”

Inuyasha looked at the older youkai with wide disbelieving eyes, “Mate!” He squeaked. His heart beat wildly in his chest. Surely there had to be a mistake… why would Sesshoumaru take him as a mate.

“Yes, didn’t he tell you? It was foretold that you would be Sesshoumaru’s mate. Your mother had predicted it and our father believed it because she was quite a powerful priestess.” Hakusetsu informed, observing his younger brother’s response carefully.

He had warned his father and grandfather that Sesshoumaru would do something stupid when they informed him of Inuyasha’s destiny. When both of them had died Sesshoumaru had shown little grief. As if the loss of a true mate didn’t affect him at all.

Now he knew why. Inuyasha was alive and breathing. From what he could see that pup was very strong and equally beautiful. However, something was amiss. At the mention of Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha’s eyes darkened with pain. His arrogant little brother must have done something to hurt the gorgeous creature in front of him.

When their grandfather first encountered the rumors of Inuyasha, he dismissed them as coincidence. He had heard all of his exploits with Naraku and the Shikon no Tama. However, he thought that if Inu-no-Taishou’s third child was alive, he would have known of it. It was when they heard of the sword Tetsusaiga then they started investigating the matter.

Myoga had never bothered to inform them and neither had Sesshoumaru.

Hakusetsu’s eyes narrowed at the thought of the Western Lord. He would have to pay Sesshoumaru a visit to remind him that there were some rules that he just couldn’t disobey.

“He hates my very existence…”

Hakusetsu was startled out of his thoughts by that soft voice. He looked down at Inuyasha, somewhat confused.

“I am a taint to the family’s noble bloodline to him.”

The youkai’s eyes widened marginally before narrowing in anger. Beautiful golden eyes flashed in rage as he felt the slight, tightly controlled distress in Inuyasha.

“He can never love me back… that’s an impossibility for him. He doesn’t even like me enough to kill me after stripping me of my honor.”

“Enough!” Hakusetsu growled, noting Inuyasha’s flinch. He gritted his teeth and looked down at young hanyou. His voice was tight with authority as he spoke, “You, little one, are coming home with me. Your place is in the palace not in these forests.”

Looking around, he spotted two ningen girls, a fox youkai and a neko along with a monk. Narrowing his eyes in suspicion he continued, “Your companions may accompany you if they desire. We are leaving for the Land of Winds tomorrow. It is time for you to see the Kingdom that you would eventually rule.”
