-1EARTH TASK FORCE PYROMAN
STORY: 100,000 years ago, a saucer containing an unknown life form crashed into what we now call Antarctica. It wasn't until 1982 that the craft was discovered, and its hostile occupant inadvertently released. It destroyed everyone and everything it touched- by becoming everyone and everything it touched. Though once thought to have been killed, evidence began to show that it was merely laying dormant. Undeniable proof was unfortunately shown when a powerful but sociopath business tycoon sent a team to uncover it yet again. Using electricity, he was able to control and tame this being; which is able to assume any form based on genetic instructions. Upon hearing of these disturbing revelations, a high-ranking United States Geological Survey officer activates a defense system comprised of super-strength suits and extremely advanced weaponry. He then chooses a team upon which he will bestow its power. Little does he know, these young men and women have known of this menace all their lives- and for the sake of vengeance will do anything to destroy it once and for all…
Gage MacReady, 23 (PyroRed):
Weight: 180 lbs
Hometown: Miami, FL
Gage is a paradox- he is extremely intelligent and is an expert chess player. However, he has a brash streak to him as well; which made him jump at the chance to lead Pyroman when his teammate Dana turned the position down. Though Gage comes off as a rebel, he is a straight-edger who does not touch alcohol, tobacco, or illicit substances. As a result of a tumultuous childhood being bounced around various foster homes, Gage is a loner and exhibits anti-social tendencies. He will have to learn to work with and trust the others if the team is to succeed- though he will soon learn that trust is a hard thing to come by these days…
Jason Garry, 25 (PyroGreen):
Weight: 175 lbs
Hair: Dirty Blonde
Hometown: Camden, NJ
Ethnicity: British Isles
Clean cut but a little stiff, Jason is a former Marine who has extensive training in the use of munitions and firearms; he is also an expert battle tactician. He has a large stash of collectible firearms, including a small handgun owned by his missing grandfather. Jason can seem almost robotic at times and he takes his job very, very seriously. Jason's current occupation is with the Los Angeles Police Department as a SWAT sniper.
Destiny Childs, 24 (PyroYellow):
Weight: 135 lbs
Eyes: Dark Brown
Hometown: Queens, NY
Destiny is a proud tomboy, perhaps compensating for the lack of a father figure in her life. She relishes in proving wrong those who doubt her abilities because of her gender. To that end, she shows amazing mechanical prowess and in fact opened her own auto repair facility at age 20. Out of the whole team, Destiny shows the most determination to eliminate the Antarctic Biohazard, to the point that she sometimes endangers civilians. Destiny loves being a living example of what can happen if you work for what you want; and has a short fuse for apathy.
Dana Norris, 22 (PyroBlue):
Weight: 225 lbs
Hometown: Los Angeles, CA
Ethnicity: Irish-American (3rd generation)
Quiet and brainy, Dana has been trained by his father to be a part of this team since he was a toddler, though he was never fully aware of his dad's motives. Though physically large and imposing, Dana never rushes into battle and only fights when he has to. Dana works under Dr. Dreyfus at the USGS and generally likes his job; however he has dreams of a career in law enforcement- dreams he keeps secret from his father so as not to disappoint him. After the team was assembled, Dana realized he was not up to the task of leading them; though he sometimes carries the torch until Gage can better take responsibility. Dana shows maturity beyond his 22 years but isn't above using his expert command of dialect to play pranks.
Katie Blair, 27 (PyroWhite):
Weight: 115 lbs
Hometown: Provo, UT
Katie is a microbiologist working with the Centers for Disease Control. She's a cowgirl at heart and is an avid outdoorswoman and horseback rider. She loves shocking people with the fact that even though she's a blonde haired, blue eyed beauty with a gymnast's build, she has an "iron stomach" and cannot be grossed out- even while digging through cadavers. Katie signed up for this mission herself after learning of the Biohazard's release. Katie's normally a very calm person, though she can become irrational and even violent when provoked.
Dr. Charles Dreyfus, 62 (Team Leader)
Weight: 220 lbs
Hometown: East Aurora, NY
A former science professor, Dr. Dreyfus has worked at the United States Geological Survey for many years; much of that time spent discreetly working on a defense system against any possible release of the Antarctic Biohazard. Though gruff and intimidating in appearance, Dr. Dreyfus is really a big teddy bear and only shows his aggression in emergency situations.
Dr. Sean V. Norris, 45 (Project Assistant)
Weight: 220 lbs
Hometown: Philadelphia, PA
Ethnicity: Irish-American (2nd Generation)
Sean and Dr. Dreyfus initiated this project almost 2 decades ago, part out of global protection and partially out of revenge. Sean was to take part in the initial team, and began training himself in order to take on the new powers. Unfortunately, he was sidelined after being diagnosed with a previously undetected but apparently hereditary heart condition. Sean tested both his sons for the ailment, hoping against hope that one of them would not be a carrier. When Dana tested negative for the defect, Sean began a vigorous training and home-schooling regimen with him. Sean never told his son exactly why, until now…
Nigel Duncan, 40 (Main Enemy)
Nigel is a ruthless businessman who holds money and power above all else. He sent a team of ex-con scientists to Antarctica in order to locate and retrieve the alien biohazard when he heard rumors about its existence and its ability to cause untold amounts of damage. Now under Nigel's control, the mass is kept in a computer-access room where he can simply feed it genetic coordinates to form itself around and create beings capable of catastrophic damage- all under the guise of a normal human. He's threatened to send at least one per week into general population until his demands of global domination are met. In addition, he has the ability to create dog-faced grunts called "Mongrels", which are not capable of infecting others but can be released in large numbers, as they do not use very much of the mass.
Johann Bolen, 29: Johann is a Norwegian national who somehow snuck into the Pyroman Command Center. He was promptly removed of course, but nobody knows for sure how much he learned or what his intentions are.
Leaves Palmer, 31: Leaves is one of Gage's few friends and works as a mechanic at Destiny's auto repair shop. If you could somehow genetically meld Cheech, Chong, and Steven Wright into one person, you'd get Leaves. He's always one ass-hair away from getting canned due to his extensive pot use, but his more than competent mechanical skills save him at the last minute. That, and because he's discovered his boss' superhero alter ego had has threatened to squeal if she fires him.
