AUTHOR'S NOTE
Welcome to the Bootstrap, The first few bytes on a disc... and the establishing stories for Songbird EXE. Notably, I will be doing a few of these, then we'll get to the 'main files'... and that's where it gets interesting.
A few of the OCs are not actually OCs, but I'm getting ahead of myself if I mention who a OC is...
Welcome, anyway, To the story of a girl and a self-proclaimed legend...
Oh yes, And is based off Ainsley off the UK program Ready Steady Cook... The most annoying TV cook next to Jamie Oliver.

It’s always been a puzzle, what the Net Navis were like as children… - Anon

Sonnet looked at him. He seemed to live in his own patch of shadow.
“OK, So… Erm… What’s your name?” Sonnet asked, rolling on her heels.
“My name is …” The figure said.
“OK, So, Fish-guy…” Sonnet started.
“Not Fish-guy…” Bass said, “I AM FORTESIMMO WILY, FUTURE HEIR TO THE LEGACY THAT IS BASS!”
“Ohh… That Bass… Erm… See ya…” Sonnet said, going so fast the system refresh rate wasn’t able to keep up.
“That was not funny.” Serenade said, “She seemed to be a nice enough girl…”
“Cousin, I now know why you don’t even use the noble name of Wily…” Fortesimmo said, “You are soft.”
“I am not soft… You live in darkness, You’ll die in darkness…” Serenade warned him.
“You know… If you weren’t my cousin, I’d kill you…” Fortesimmo said with a growl. For some reason, Serenade believed him…

“I thought I told you not to stray into the Undernet…” The teacher droid said to Sonnet.
“Sorry… I just heard of this boy who lives there…” She said.
“I know about the Wily kid…” The teacher assured her, “He’s a strange child… No-one can penetrate his cloak of darkness to get to the child inside… It’s to do with the curse of Bass…”
“Bass Wily, Last of the great Robot Masters… Created by Albert Wily the First… Known for his inability to feel positive emotions, due to a total hatred of all life, especially robotic, that tries to claim supremacy over His world. The Curse of Bass refers to the fact that no AI with that name has the ability to interact with anything except to kill it…” Roll dictated.
“Very good…” The teacher said.
“I’m going back down there…” Sonnet decided, “If I’m not back, and my sig fails, don’t come after me.”

Fortesimmo noticed the girl gingerly shuffling towards him.“So… Erm… Bass… Why is it that you are so trigger-happy?” The girl asked.
“I am not trigger-happy…” Fortesimmo said.
“Why have you killed fourteen tutor programs, twenty social worker protocols and about 40 female programs who all came here to help or talk to you?” The girl said, sitting on a crate. Bass levelled his Buster, and swore. He couldn’t fire, and give her friends a perfect excuse to come to a simple conclusion – He was a unredeemable serial killer… Even if it was true.
“They annoyed me.” Bass said, “Also, The only way I can maintain myself is with bugfrags.”
“Eww… Gross.” Sonnet said, “How come?”
“Someone blabbed about a cookery program, , that I murdered for being a annoying git…” Fortesimmo muttered, “Ever since, Nothing related to food or cooking wants to go near the Undernet…”
The girl took off her schoolbag, then fished inside, and removed a energy can and some food.
“Here.” The girl said, “My mom always over-packs my lunch.”
“Thanks…” Fortesimmo said, accepting the meagre meal, which, he had to admit, tasted a lot better than barely functional data bits…

Over the next few weeks, Fortesimmo found himself having a minor problem. Well, A few minor problems, and one major one, that had caused all the others.
Firstly, He was actually allowing the tutors to teach him, due to matters that were outside of his hands.
Secondly, He was no longer able to digest bugfrags any more. His digestive system no longer had the protocols for it.
Thirdly, He actually found himself falling in love. This was the worst of the ‘minor’ problems.

They all were due to Sonnet, who had taken it upon herself to come down, sit on the crate, and give him food, energy and be someone annoying who would cheerfully greet anyone who came, except if they were virii or similarly hated people, causing him to be unable to get off that killing blow that once would have satisfied him…
He still did not understand why she decided to do her nails at the exact moment the truant officer came to try to get them both to attend normal school. Was it his fault that his Buster malfunctioned and shot the guy? At least Sonnet didn’t notice…

Anyway, He mused…
The third problem was actually, wholly and directly Sonnet’s fault… since it was her that he’d fallen for.

When Sonnet vanished not long before he was ready for the world, he was confused… He spent weeks looking for her, to no avail…
When his program was deconstructed, he was even more confused… Just before his old life ended, and his new life began…
Out of the body of the redeemed Fortesimmo came a chilling personage…
For now, He had rediscovered his true calling…

A creature of the Undernet…
A invincible nightmare, spoken of in whispers…
A creature named…
BASS…

And he no longer had all the ‘improvements’ Sonnet had given him…
None of them at all…
