Fake a Smile (1/1)
It reminds me of a song. She can't be his and he doesn't want her. Lit
I do not own the characters or universe depicted.

She fakes a smile and presses her hips into his. He keeps his hands pinned down at his sides.
-Sic Transit Gloria… Glory Fades, Brand New

There's something tantalizingly beautiful about the hatred between them. It was slow developing, happening over years. Years of children and alcohol and cheating. Years without learning how to work through the hurt and the lies and the disappointment.

They married too quickly, she tells herself. They were too haste in there decision, careless.

It's an ever revolving door, still. They both return home, reeking of booze and sex and strangers. Their hatred for one another is so strong, they barely remember their children's names.

The children are the reason he stays, he tells himself. They're too young to understand, innocent.

They both remember when they were new. When they'd first made love. They remember when he wanted her too much to care. When he would fuck her against elevator walls because they couldn't wait for it to reach their floor. She remembers the sensations of heat and lust and love pooling between her legs, making her want him so badly that she'd let him fuck her against elevator walls. He remembers pushing up dresses and tearing away panties and driving her into the wall with his first thrusts. They both remember the bruises. Her purple flesh. Back and hips and mons.

They stay for the children and the security and convenience. They don't mind the lying and the cheating anymore; time faded that pain long ago.
