The yellow tape mars the landscape nearly as much as body roped off by it. So bright and distinctive. This person, behind the tape, next to me, they should be concealed away from the public, away from prying eyes. I know I own a set of those prying eyes, but mine are different. Mine are here to figure out who did this, to find justice.

Because, while this yellow tape should be warding off the public, it only draws them nearer, as they huddle around that tape, trying to see what happened.

I shake my head and look back down to the body.

Damn yellow tape.
