A/N: Alex's thought's during the scene in "Great Barrier" when they're showing Ella the tape of Bobby and Nicole talking.

1Alex entire focus was on her partner, so she was only vaguely aware of the voices from the television; but it was clear that Bobby heard every word, and each one hurt him. Seeing the pain on his face she wanted to look away, but couldn't.

Not for the first time, Alex thought that the connection between Bobby and Nicole was like the connection between a moth and a flame. Dangerous, but undeniable. The problem was, it was impossible to tell who was the moth, and who the flame.

Alex reached for the remote. Bobby couldn't take much more of it, and she couldn't take much more of seeing what it did to him. She hated Nicole. Not for the crimes Nicole had committed, but because of the pain she caused Bobby.
