Disclaimer and Notes from the Rad’ster: Sonic the Hedgehog and other Sonic characters, such as Miles “Tails” Prower, were created by SEGA and Sonic Team. However, Tilts is my own character. Speaking of Tilts, I’m going to make some changes with the character, for example, his appearance and personality. Same goes with the flow of the story. This fanfic ‘probably’ takes place in the video game side of the Sonic universe. This story is also in Tails’ POV, while he is in his late teens. I’m not exactly decent on “POV” type stories, but I’ll try my very best. Finally, I somehow lost the ORIGINAL third version of this Sonic fanfic. Therefore, I have to rewrite the whole story again. Thus, making this version of the Sonic fanfic story a 3.5 VERSION. Enjoy. ;)

Adrenaline Storm (Version 3.5)

Prologue:Harmed (Before the Uncontrollable Storm)

This was it. The final confrontation between my best fast friend of mine, Sonic, and that malicious Eggman guy. Nothing further. I mean, both of them had a long contention with each other for many ‘who knows what’ years. I always wished and hoped that this whole situation between the two would soon come to a complete, yet shocking, conclusion. I was also a friendly ally with Sonic the Hedgehog for years now, but we never gave up fighting for the sake of the whole world.

During the final battle, it turns out that Eggman is up to his evil antics again with those chaos emeralds. Yes, that’s right. Chaos Emeralds. The war between the Chaos Emeralds has a long history, ever since those drastic ancient times. Yes, those dramatic moments are true. Besides, Knuckles still has to protect the “Master Emerald” from any harm from anyone again. Our acquaintances, such as Cream and Amy, had always hoped that we would be okay without being in “harm’s way”. All of that started to change.

Sonic and I were speeding down a jungle that is similar to a forest named, “The Sentient Grounds”. And boy, when the sky is at its nocturnal point, the jungle becomes real dark and can become quite frightening to younger animals. Not even some additional lights would be able to survive inside this mysterious jungle with their remaining batteries. Its weather conditions are scorching and humid.

“Sonic, wait up!” I cried out to the fast blue hedgehog as I was about to lose his distance while I was spinning my furry orange tails in order to gain such fast speed. We were also avoiding a quantity of Eggman’s metallic traps. One of them is the usual spike strip. We jumped over it with no damage done whatsoever. Another one was a couple of badniks. Sadly, I forgot what their names were called, but I can understand their forms. Instead of being hopeless to these badniks, we just took them out in no hurry.

We kept moving from trap to trap, avoiding anything that could possibly take our remaining lives away. After all that madness with Eggman’s traps, we finally reached over to a long bridge, created by using wood and strings. As a result, Sonic and I made a screeching halt, almost reaching the bridge. We both noticed some futuristic buildings from far away; then again, we’re close to the finish. They seem to have the Eggman’s logo on it.

Before Sonic started running, I started saying, “Wait, Sonic!” “What is it Tails?” He said as he turned towards me. I continued talking from there when he stopped right on his tracks. “I’m not exactly sure if this is actually Eggman’s real base. This could possibly be a hoax or something worse.” Sonic started thinking about it, until all of a sudden; a rather unfamiliar badnik swooped right in front of us, causing myself to jump. It looked like a cross between a spider and a scorpion, only it’s in its orange robotic form. The badnik appeared to be more huge than other small badniks, but not gigantic. Its hideous red and black metallic eyes glared over at me, and then it glared towards Sonic.

“Whoa, talk about a new makeover!” Sonic said toward the ‘badnik’. “Come on, Tails! Let’s get this baddie out of our way!” I agreed with him before its extensive stinger tail almost stung Sonic and me. We were trying to avoid its dangerous tail by evading its quick attacks, some gymnastics included. I tried to do my attacks against the unfamiliar ‘badnik’, but the large robotic critter kept knocking me back into the trees with its long tail. As I hit one of the brown trees after three times, I grunted loudly as I attempted to stand up.

“Hang in there, Tails!” Sonic cried out to me before turning his head towards the badnik. Sonic stayed clear from the enemy from a safe distance until there was a good spot to take the large, mechanized critter down to size. He finally managed to send an impressive homing attack towards the robot, causing critical damage to it. It powers down, somehow.

“That was awesome, Sonic!” I said to him, happily. We thought that the robotic enemy was dead; however, THAT’S where I made my big mistake. It immediately powers back up quickly, and stings my white, furry chest as fast as it could, so Sonic wouldn’t notice after a few milliseconds. And trust me, it hurts. BAD. I screamed in pain when that happened. Sonic cried out my name as he was about to tear the living mess out of the machine. Somehow, it powered back down before Sonic would even go for that method.

I suddenly started to feel numb inside my legs, causing my furry orange body to go on all fours. I was about to black out from all the numbness that’s going through inside my bloodstream. I started making grunting noises from all the damage I received. I even had tears in my eyes. Sonic started saying something like, “Tails! Are you all right? Talk to me!” I slowly gazed at the blue hedgehog, until my vision went blind. Before I could say anything, I collapsed into the vast darkness.

Black.

“…Tails…”

“Tails?”

“Tails, please wake up.”

Those voices I heard sounded very feminine, what my mind thought at first. As I open my eyes slowly, my vision was still blurred, but not as much when I collapsed. I looked onto my right slowly. As my vision started to get back to normal, I see a tan and brown rabbit with red clothing and brown eyes. Wait, that must mean… This must be Cream!

However, she seems rather older than she was back then. She looked rather…well, beautiful. Besides from that, I soon realized that I’m inside a hospital, in one of the room’s beds. As I attempted to sit up, my white furry chest started to hurt again. Thus, an advice from Cream that I shouldn’t move yet, because of the almost fatal damage I obtained from that badnik. I even had a white bandage on my chest.

“C-Cream?” I asked in a somewhat weak voice.

“What is it, Tails?” She answered in her soft, feminine, yet somewhat cutesy voice.

“W-What happened to S-Sonic?” After I said Sonic’s name in that sentence, I hear a loud, feminine voice coming out of her mouth. It turned out to be Amy Rose. She seems to be wearing her usual favorite red dress. Of course, she appeared rather disappointed about Sonic not coming back after the aftermath of the final battle between Eggman.

Speaking of that, I also started to wonder what exactly happened in the final battle between Sonic and Eggman. Is it because he did not survive an explosion? Or is it that he had an unexpected encounter with someone who is more ‘darker’ than anybody else, such as Eggman and that Shadow guy? Or maybe even something utterly different from those two questions?

I mean, who put me into this hospital? Sonic? Knuckles? Someone that I’m not even familiar with? I don’t know exactly who brought me into this building. I wanted to say something about that subject before Cream began to speak. However, I was too little, too late.

“It’s a long story.” She said in a soft voice.

“B-But still, w-what happened to him?” I said, still trying to figure out that whole situation. “W-Why and how did I end up here?” Cream sighed.

“As far as I know, after that huge explosion that took place over at Eggman’s base, I’m afraid to say that he probably didn’t make it, but I have a tendency to know that he’s out there.” Cream almost let her tears out as she looked towards the window. The outskirts from the hospital were approximately filled with beautiful skyscrapers and other types of buildings. “Somewhere far away from here.” The bright sun’s current direction tells me that the time is around afternoon.

“Yeah, but how did I end up in here?” I asked, wanting to know more about the situation. She sighed again.

“To tell you the truth, I’m not exactly who it was that brought you here.” I blinked. “The ‘person’ appeared to be rather similar to you, only tall-”

Before Cream could finish her sentence, another feminine voice called out for Cream and Amy Rose to leave, probably because I haven’t repaired completely yet. That voice turned out to be Cream’s mother, Vanilla. Cream’s friendly chao, Cheese, are beside the clothed rabbit. Cream said her farewell towards me as she, Amy, Vanilla, and Cheese, walked out of the room. After they left this hospital room, two people who operate people walked towards to me. One of them is male, and one of them is female.

“Tails, we’re going to put you to sleep with this tube, okay?” One of the workers said to me. I agreed on that task. Subsequently, before I knew it, I suddenly fell asleep.
