Miss Granger's hand waved obnoxiously in the air. For once, though, Severus Snape was annoyed by something far more irritating.

There was a ribbon in her hair. A ribbon of the pink variety. Dangling down by her ear.

He ignored her and Hermione became frustrated.

"Professor, please. My arm is getting sore."

"Well then, you best put it down." He avoided looking at her.

Hermione silently fumed and stormed up to the front of the classroom. "Sir."

"Miss." Severus removed the offending ribbon. He leaned in close. "Five points taken for distracting me in a most inappropriate way."

Hermione shivered.
