In the back of the Mind
Okay, well, I suppose I should write some sort of Authors note.. uh, let me think.. This is a new story of mine, and yeah. I hope you like it. Disclaimer crap: I don't own Kingdom Hearts, or Destiny Islands. Okay? Thats it for now.

Chapter one: Feelings Apart.

Once upon a time, two people lived in a dorm, a dorm where they kept secrets to their own, many secrets...

Sora,a spikey brunette haired teen, sat awake in his dorm, the night sky a dark gray, reflecting the moon off the water as cloud passed overhead. Sora went to school at his local University. He never had many problems, but tonight a knot grew indside his stomach. He sat at his desk, the lamp turned on, shining down onto his books that revealed his struggle to write a story.

"Go the hell asleep, Sora, that light is burning my eyes," complained a silver haired boy with shining glacier blue eyes. The brunette boy turned to him and frowned,

"I don't feel like it, I have some trouble sleeping." He looked outside at the moon that was still shining on the water that connected to a beach. Destiny Islands, a place far from reality, with a small amount of people. Surprising they even had a dorm, Sora signed up when he was 18 with two scolarships.

"You need to sleep now. Our exams are tomorrow, and if you don't go night-night, you're going to flunk right our of school and drop yourself right into the plumbing industry."

"Plumbing isn't an industry, it's just a lifestyle. Besides, I don't see anything wrong with plumbing..." he trailed off and laughed to himself. Sora actually did have a problem with plumbing. The uniform would reveal his ass crack and make him smell like, well, shit. There was very few people who lived on Destiny Islands that would even try to fix a toilet, leaving the supply of plumbers very thin, "also, I have studied a long time, so... I should do good."

"I didn't see you study. I saw you write, but not even crack open one of your texts."

"Riku, leave me alone."

"I'm just worried is all, and Kairi will be too if you keep this up. Somethings wrong with you Sora, something I have never witnessed before. You never come to hang out on the beach anymore and Kairi told me you never take her out to those resturaunts you both used to love."

"Leave Kairi out of this. I have nothing wrong with me, there is just something that has been on my mind lately. I have no idea why it's weighing so heavy on my social life. I've been trying to write it down, but all I got was this..." Sora picked up the story laying on his desk and handed in slowly to Riku, struggling ot decide if his friend should read it or if he should just keep it to himself. The latter wouldn't help his problem any, and it definitly wouldn't help tell Riku what was up with him.

"Okay, well.." Riku's eyes scanned the pages and stopped.

"Well?"

"Um, let's just go back to the beginning," he said, flipping the second page down and starting over. He stopped again and shook his head, "Sora, I had no idea you felt this way." He handed the pages back to Sora, also returning the silver paper clip that held the thin papers together.

"Do you think I should ask someone else what it means?"

"I think that... you need to tell me where the hell this..." he stopped trying to conjure more words for what he just read. He mentally pictured the words into a small slide show. Sora must have watched a bad movie, or maybe just had a nightmare, like many do. But, it couldn't have been a nightmare because insomnia filled his spikey haired friend, "where the hell this shit came from. Because, it's not the fact you wrote about this... it's the fact you think you may have experienced it."

"I don't think I would have killed him, Riku. But, I think someone else did. That's what I have been seeing, Riku. This dead person. He keeps trying to tell me something, but I just don't want to listen."

"I don't think you've been sleeping enough. Come on, Sora, just go to sleep."

Sora nodded and slipped under the thick covers on his mattress. He fluffed his pillow and looked straight ahead, straight into the next morning.

The next morning the azure blue eyed boy awoke, to the alarm crying and cawing of seagulls. He swung his legs around, getting up and tossing his hand down onto the sleep button. Silence flooded the room, except for the small patter of water leaking from the tap of his sink.

Drip...

Drip...

"Sora!" said the voice of a girl, rapping on his door. Sora sighed and slipped on his normal day to day clothes, a red tee-shirt and a pair of large, baggy, black jeans. He applied some more gel to his hair, the towering spikes crunching under his grip. Old flakes of gel stuck to his hand.

"Ugh," Sora cringed, wrinkling his nose. He walked over and washed his hands, "just a minute Kairi!"

"Come on! Class starts in twenty minutes and so does the exams!" Sora rolled his eyes. Exams really put stress on him, not to mention the dreams he had been having lately made it hard to keep focus on his studies. Sora was a smart student, always getting his assignments done, he had high marks.

Once upon a time, two people lived in a dorm, a dorm where they kept secrets to their own, many secrets...

...Many nasty secrets...
