Summary: Shogo Amakusa holds his beloved Sao in his arms for the last time. One-shot.
Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on.
Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on.
My Heart Will Go On, Celine Dion
My jailor are outside the door, waiting for me. Everyone seems so eager to snatch her away from me.
I wonder what would happen if she could open her eyes and see me as I stand before her, waiting to be bound and shackled.
Someone taps on the door, and involuntarily, I hold her closer to my chest. I press my lips to her forehead, and her skin feels cold against mine.
"Sayonara," I whisper, setting down her sleeping form.
Her passing is but a fault of mine. The predator does not pity his quarry, the sinner does not repent, a politician does not regret.
I do not mourn my sister.
