This has been done for the 12 tortures days at the LJ community ichiruki. I doubt I'll do the 12 tortures, but here is the first since I already wrote it... :)

Title: Murder
Torture: Guilt trip
Warning: spoilers for the latest chapters
Word count: 300
POV: Ichigo
Pairing: slight IchiRuki?

Ichigo stood up, rather surprised by Grimmjow’s accusation. And, while he parried his attacks, it came back, nagging in the back of his mind; did he want to kill him? Never he felt a hatred like this one; not even Grand Fisher could win that title and Grand Fisher was the one who killed his beloved mother.

He remembered it clearly, painfully, the day when Grimmjow stabbed Rukia right under his eyes. Just thinking about the whole scene again made his soul ache. He had been unable to protect her, the one he had to protect above all the other ones. And afterwards, he had been pushed by his own guilt –he couldn’t protect her, so he had to become stronger and seek revenge for her.

Could he fight without letting Grimmjow die?

Of course not. He understood that; he had to kill him, it was a need anchored deep in his mind. He had to pay for what he did to Rukia.

But Rukia was dying somewhere, far away from him and the thought made him shiver. He had no choice but to fight; he’ll kill Grimmjow and then come back to her, with Inoue, so she could heal her. I’m very sorry Rukia, but I have to do this. Please don’t die. He breathed in, slowly. And coldness was all that was left.

When Grimmjow said that he, Ichigo, didn’t want to kill him, he had to suppress a laughter that came from deep inside of him.

“… What’d you say?” he retorted.

Nice, King! It looks that you’re learning, at least!

Would the guilt of killing someone, as hated as he was, be worst? He just didn’t have the time to ponder anymore. Rukia was waiting –was dying– and knowing that was even worst than any guilt.
