Potter-verse Parodies

Herein will be displayed various glimpses into a twisted mind.

Each short chapter will be a song parody (sometimes called a ‘filk song’)
using story elements from the Harry Potter books and movies and the witchy wisdom of J..
I haven’t read any song parodies that may exist on this or other sites, so any similarity is coincidental.

The tunes referenced belong to their respective composers.
Apologies to the original lyricists o

Since no copyrighted lyrics are being used, don’t go complaining to the admins.
It’s original writing based a bit on pre-existing work, but then, isn’t that a definition of fan fiction?

Giggles and groans,

Hagrid’s Lament
(to the tune of “My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean”)

My Norbert was all that I wished for.
A wondrous companion was he.
But Norbert now lives in Romania.
Oi! Bring back my Norbert to me!

Ridgeback, Ridgeback,
the finest of dragons to me, to me.
Bring back my Ridgeback,
Oi! Bring back my Norbert to me!

My Norbert knew I was his mummy,
The cutest of critters, you see.
They forced me to send him away, though.
Oi! Bring back my Norbert to me!

Ridgeback, Ridgeback,
the finest of dragons to me, to me.
Bring back my Ridgeback,
Oi! Bring back my Norbert to me!

I’ve had me an Acromantula,
A hippogriff, thestrals, but gee!
My heart still cries out for my dragon.
Oi! Bring back my Norbert to me!

Ridgeback, Ridgeback,
the finest of dragons to me, to me.
Bring back my Ridgeback,
Oi! Bring back my Norbert to me!

A/N: I must mention that this project was triggered by an author’s note in Dealing with Danger by whydoyouneedtoknow.
As other readers will attest, the story often has incidents of strange humor.
The author mentioned the tune “My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean” … I started singing the song to myself …
when I hit the phrase ‘Bring back, Bring back’ … the rest just happened.
After half an hour of unsuccessfully trying to get to sleep, I finally got up and put this down on virtual paper.
