Senchou!”

It had been just another one of those days out sailing the Grand Line when said day had started, not a cloud in the sky and not a squall of wind to fill the sheepish Going Merry Go’s pinstriped sails. Of course, now that could have only been the start of a day in their imaginations, or perhaps a lie spun by the ship’s resident long-nosed sharpshooter and chronic liar, Ussopu.

Because of course, violent, raging sea storms backed by Aqua Lagunas easily the size big enough to down even the most aggressive Sea Kings from the Calm Belt didn’t just brew and come out of nowhere, they were spotted by the Navigator or by said Sharpshooter miles off and miles away from their perch on the Crow’s Nest, they were easily avoided with a turn of the tail by the occasionally muscular Doctor or by a rudely awakened and always muscular Swordsman, they were watched—From a far, of course—In awe by the lanky Captain before he would demand of the ship’s woman-obsessed Cook to feed him his damned meat, they were smiled at by the dainty Desert Princess and the always smiling Archeologist.

They were NOT, under any circumstances, hurled through head on by a meek little ship with the head of a ram and a crew full of people with dreams all foolish and important and absurd and precious; they were NOT took on as a challenge by the Swordsman and the Cook, laughed at by the Captain and the Princess, and screamed hysterically at by the Doctor, Sharpshooter, and Navigator, and simply smiled at even more by the beautiful Archeologist.

Any yet, that was what said crew was doing at that very concise moment, causing much deliberation on the Navigator Lady’s talents and capabilities at manning the ship’s direction.

But then again, this was the Grand Line, notorious for it’s ever changing seasons and fickle weather. A dangerous and deadly sea, at the very least, even the calm, static strips of water were there to betray you, home and filled to the brim with the largest Sea Kings of the World, the aptly named Calm Belts, were one could hardly ever be charged for not being calm at said part.

Damned Grand Line. Damned.

And then, it had happened. For the briefest moment, despite being in the middle of perhaps the most violent storm of their entire lives, all time seemed to slow and stop, all and fourteen eyes on board (That’s seven pairs, to the mathematically challenged out there: A pair of green, dual browns, a trio of blue, and a single twin pool of black) stopped to focus on their obscenely important Captain, perched almost as if in defiance on the head of their beloved ship, his most favored throne, arms crossed and legs wrapped loosely on those lovely golden curled horns.

It all happened in less the time it would have taken for one fully-equipped platoon of the Kaigun to fall at the sword of the Marimo or the kicks of the Eggplant, but in such a strained, long time it felt like but an eternity to the crew who watched, all realizing too far into the fall that they were far too far to reach their baka senchou, all suddenly owning limbs far too heavy to run any faster with and all too slow to reach out to the falling youth.

Senchou!”

He hit the water before the second syllable even left their lips.

The Swordsman hit the deck first, followed closely by both the Cook and the Doctor, the Archeologist hardly any farther behind. Despite the violent lurching of the ship and the foaming of the water none had any difficulty spotting the red-rimmed boushi floating along the ragging waves, and one emerald haramaki, one ink-black jacket, and two pairs of shoes to be tossed haphazardly aside and two bodies plunged into the sea.

Luffy!”

Baka!”

The Lady Archeologist’s sharp azure eyes scanned the moving sea fretfully, careful not to allow her body to betray her inner turmoil. That man had saved her, given her a purpose—And now, because of the curse of the Aku no Mi, she was all but powerless to save him. Beside her, off to her right, the Princess’ eyes were huge, a hand over her mouth as her entire body shook violently. She barely made a sound as she hit the floors.

“Lu-Lu-Luffy-san…”

The Navigator’s sharp ears caught the small, almost-whimper, holding back a pained gasp as her auburn eyes spied the shivering, shaking Princess.

“Vivi! Ne, daijobu?”

In the red-haired Navigator’s arms, the Desert Princess shook. “Luffy-san… Luffy-san…!”

Ne… Vivi, it’s… Alright,” Though the Navigator personally felt it was anything but, “Zoro and Sanji-kun will definitely, DEFINITELY find him!” A smile. It felt so terrible. To smile.

“No… Luffy-san can’t swim… Luffy-san…!”

The sobs broke out of the Princess in thick, painful waves, and the Navigator found herself feeling the same squeezing sensation in her chest as the Princess broke into full, hysterical crying. “Vi-Vivi… DameMou, nakanaide… Luffy is… Luffy is…”

It was hot, thick, heavy, and painful.

And she wasn’t going to hold it in either.

The Archeologist was suddenly taken aback, all to aware of how suddenly unsure she was as to how to react to the tears being shed by both the Princess and the Navigator. The Navigator was crying, the strongest woman Nico Robin knew was there, crying, arms entwined with that of the blue-eyed Princess, and there she was, simply watching. She should—

“Cho-Chopper! Abunai!”

Out of the corner of her eyes she caught sight of a pink top hat being discarded—Albeit with more care than the other articles of clothing strewn about the deck—And a blur of brow fur once bellow her line of sight bursting up into her full view, running against the gale of wind to the side of their ship, a distressed Sharpshooter calling out to him. It was their emotional Doctor.

Luffy! He cant swim!”

“Chopper! Dame da! You can’t swim either, you’ll DIE!”

RUMMBLE!” The familiar, tell-tale sound of the bright yellow candy being consumed did just a little to break the whitenoise of the storm.

Oh dear.

Cinco Fleur.”

Five pairs of dainty but strong arms sprouted from the side of the ship, catching the hysterical reindeer before he hit the water.

“Ro-Robin! Hanase!” The suddenly feral glint in the usually calm and composed reindeer’s dainty brown eyes caused her to involuntarily take a step back. This could only lead to trouble. With neither the Swordsman or the Cook around to restrain the suddenly muscular and hulking beast and the Navigator and the Princess… Incapacitated with emotion at the moment, it would see as though both she and the Liar were in for some minor trouble.

He charged.

Heavy PointHorn Point!”

Vente Fleur.”

The impact of the blocked and blocking attack caused the tiny, dainty ship to spasm violently, dangerously, almost causing it to go under the many Aqua Lagunas slamming hard against it. Almost.

Ten pairs of hands erupted from the ship’s floor and held the charging, raging animal back by the horns.

Behind her, the Sharpshooter took aim.

“Chopper! Yamete! Don’t make me do this! ONEGAI! Omae no Ore no Ichibansuki no NAKAMA WA!”

The sound of his precious Nakamas voice slapped him like one of Doctorine Kureha’s kicks, the sound of his precious Nakamas voice now holding him back far better than twenty hands ever could for the moment, and the Archeologist took the chance given to her well.

Tres Fleur.”

Hands spurted out behind Chopper’s Monstrous horns, scratching lightly at the back of his furry brown head. The soft, sudden relaxation method brought him back to his harmless Brain Point form, and all she had to do was pick him gently up and hold him against her chest.

Gomen ne. But you should stay put from now on then.”

He pushed with his tiny, hard hooves against her and looked up indignantly at her lidded blue eyes.

Hanase. Hanase yo!”

Iie. Don’t be foolish, Iishi-san.”

Angry, tear-filled almond eyes stared forcefully up at her. “You’re so cold, Robin! You—”

The Sharpshooter stepped up and quickly took the distressed little animal into his own arms, placing a finger on his small forehead. “Yamete, Chopper!” The small animal slowly ceased his struggling, “Chopper, dont…”

It would have been comical, under any other circumstance, how they both collapsed in tears, and both the Navigator and the Archeologist felt something tug at their heartstrings as they witnessed the sobbings of their precious Nakama.

LUFFY!”

The Swordsman. He was over the side, clutching an empty straw hat rimmed in red.

“It’s no use, I cant find him under!”

The Cook. Back on board, the trio of women tried desperately not to be absurdly worried, they knew full well that if anyone were to survive this storm of storms, it would be their Senchou. They all knew that! It was so simple to grasp, such an obvious conclusion to come at…

However… It didn’t stop the terror that was rapidly building in all their chests.

“…Luffy…”

In the distance and in the commotion, all eyes missed the lonely island no Log or Eternal Pose would ever point to in the middle of the Grand Line…
