The Ice Princess of Konoha

Chapter 1

by JohnnyG

Special thanks go out to Gmusick and thestoneox for allowing me to bounce ideas off them, as well as giving this a once-over for me. Be sure to check out their stories. They’re both very good writers.

Oh, and this obviously takes place in the future. Hanabi is 16, and Naruto is 21. All of the characters will still have their basic underlying personalities, but everyone (especially Naruto) has been through some tough times and have certainly grown up (some more than others).

Anyhow, on with the story...

Hyuuga Hanabi stormed down the streets of Konoha, looking very much like a small, localized hurricane, ready to unleash her fury on anything that dared to cross her path. With her fists clenched, her eyes narrowed, and the determined gait of her walk, wary people, both ninjas and citizens alike, carefully steered clear of the sixteen-year-old. However, very much like a hurricane, she had no specific destination; she merely let the winds take her where they will. As long as that was away from the Hyuuga compound.

The nerve of those bastards! To say that Hanabi was angry with her clan was akin to saying that Uchiha Sasuke was only mildly upset with his brother, Itachi. Of course, the comparison did have a bit of merit. There were times when the youngest daughter of Hiashi dreamed of slaughtering every other Hyuuga in existence. Though, she certainly would not leave things incomplete like Itachi had when he left Sasuke alive, the stupid moron. Hanabi liked to be thorough. Unfortunately, the fact that she wasn’t powerful enough to accomplish the feat, disregarding the fact that Konoha would frown upon such actions, made her even angrier.

The cause of her latest explosion of resentment toward her family revolved around the young man she had been dating. It’s not like I wanted to marry the little worm. Or even have sex with him! Indeed, the male in question was certainly not up to the standards that Hanabi had set for herself. However, she had needed a distraction and Daichi happened to be available. Unfortunately, the clan elders had found out and raised a stink about it.

While she had stood there, listening to the ranting of the old men, she noticed Hinata smiling at her reassuringly. What the hell was that all about? Was that somehow supposed to make everything all better? She sneered at the thought. And those old assholes, what a bunch of hypocrites! It’s not like they all don’t make use of ‘professional’ ladies, so what the hell is the problem? Is it just that it would be okay if I was a male? What a bunch of shit!

Their supposed grievance centered on the current flux regarding Hanabi’s status within the clan. For so long, they had come up with numerous excuses to keep her older sister Hinata from being designated as the true heiress to the clan. Hanabi had heard whispers, though nobody really tried to be secretive about it, that the elders were hoping that Hinata would die so that they could name her the heiress instead. She hated the old men for that. While Hanabi did not have any great love for her sister, she still didn’t want to see her killed (despite her dream of sometimes becoming like Itachi). In fact, because of the difficult position it put her in, she somewhat resented Hinata for not being stronger. If she were, the whole thing would be a moot point.

Unfortunately for everyone involved, Hinata had not had the good graces to die like the elders hoped. Another attempt to block her ascension to the role of clan head was by arranging a political marriage with her former teammate, Aburame Shino. Their plan had been clever. Like everyone else in Konoha, they knew about her crush on the demon-fox container, Uzumaki Naruto (though Naruto seemed to remain blissfully unaware). The clan heads had hoped she would go against them in the arrangement, and perhaps even publicly state her affections towards the village pariah. Either action would have given them leverage to move against her. However, she accepted her engagement, and then marriage, as merely one of the many duties she had to perform. She hadn’t been happy about it at the time, but she did it nonetheless. One of these days, Hanabi thought, I’m going to figure out why she gave up on her crush and bowed to those pricks.

Then, when it had been two years since the marriage with no heir being produced, they had hoped to keep her from replacing Hiashi on the grounds that she was barren. After all, the head of the clan had to be able to produce legitimate heirs. Again, Hinata foiled them by announcing her pregnancy two months later. The child, her nephew, would turn three in approximately nine months. Once that happened, the clan heads would finally be out of options and Hanabi would be relegated to the Branch family, with the cursed seal forever upon her brow.

There was always the possibility that something might happen to her nephew before then, but Hanabi doubted it. Not only was he very healthy, but he also had two people guarding him at all times. One was always a Hyuuga loyal to Hinata, and the other was always an Aburame. There had been one attempt on the child’s life, or it may have been a kidnapping attempt, but the perpetrators had been so thoroughly mangled that the message was loud and clear to all who might try again: mess with this child and die! Thus it was that Hanabi’s fate was soon to be locked forever.

Until that time though, since there was the potential of Hanabi still becoming the clan head, they wanted to keep their options open regarding her marriage prospects. At sixteen, she was already of marriageable age among the ninja population. However, the whole thing would become a non-issue when she became a Branch family member. At that point, nobody would be interested in a political marriage with someone that had such a low stature. Thus, the clan heads wouldn’t really care who she married. Well, to a point anyway.

Of course, she thought to herself smugly, those assholes would have a fit if they knew I wasn’t a virgin anymore. The young man had been another diversion for her, much like Daichi, thus Hanabi had no intention of forming any sort of lasting bond with him. She had merely wished to experience the carnal pleasures that she had heard so many whispers about. Unfortunately, the experience had left her wanting. While she had certainly enjoyed his taste and feel, there was definitely something... missing. Not having any previous experience, or any since for that matter, she couldn’t place her finger on what that something was.

Her musings, and somewhat determined stalking to nowhere, were interrupted as she collided with what she could only describe as a flesh-covered wall. At least, that was what it felt like. In her dazed state of confusion, where she currently resided flat on her butt, Hanabi had a hard time fathoming that anything human could be that immovable.

After she shook her head to clear the fog, she glared up at whatever had caused her unfortunate tumble and her breathing hitched slightly. What she had run into was, in fact, something not quite human. The piercing blue eyes of Uzumaki Naruto glanced down at her with a certain sparkle. That, along with the smirk he was sporting, caused her to glare at him even more.

Hanabi took a few seconds to give him the once-over. He wasn’t tall by any stretch of the imagination. He was actually rather average in height, and Hanabi was sure that when she stood up she would probably be at least as tall as he was. What Naruto lacked in height though, he more than made up for in bulk. The tiger-striped t-shirt and black baggy shorts he wore did nothing to hide the most amazing set of muscles she had ever seen; and in a village full of ninja that was saying something. His hair was a darker blond than it had been when he was younger, but it still maintained that spiky appearance.

For a few moments, they simply stayed in that position, with him just outside of the Ichiraku Ramen stand where he had obviously just exited, looking down at her. Finally, his smile widened a bit, and he spoke to her in the rich, deep voice he had developed after puberty.

“You really should be more careful, Hanabi-chan.”

Uzumaki Naruto was having a good day. He had the day off from missions, and had gotten some good training in that morning with Ino and Chouji. He had many good friends, enough so that he didn’t feel the need to try and buddy up with every person who might be remotely interested in giving him the time of day. None of them were with him at the moment, but that was okay. He could see them whenever he wished.

Now, he was sitting in his favorite ramen stand, enjoying the food of the gods. Life was good. Sure, most of the village still viewed him with disdain, and that prick Sasuke had left again after he and Sakura had gone through all the trouble of getting him back...

Thoughts of Sakura did cause his mood to sour slightly. I can’t believe she tried to get me to promise to get him back a second time! Especially since he tried to kill me again before he left to upgrade his stupid Sharingan. Naruto had tried to be calm when turning her down, but when Sakura accused him of betraying Sasuke by not giving the Uchiha another chance, he had finally lost all patience with her. Rather than blow up at her though, he simply told her to grow up and walked away.

The crush that he once had on her had long since evaporated, after he had wised up to the fact that there was no way she would ever like him the way he wanted. However, he still cared for her deeply; she was one of his precious people after all. But the fight that day had changed their relationship forever. He still cared for her, and she was maddeningly polite to him on the few occasions they saw each other, but she never came to visit him anymore and whenever they did see each other Sakura always ended any conversation as abruptly as possible.

She also refuses to go on any missions with me. It’s almost like she doesn’t trust me anymore. That thought alone hurt Naruto deeper than any of her other actions. He had been nothing but reliable whenever he interacted with her, and to have her act this way over a traitor... well, it did not sit well with him at all.

“Damn!” The voice of Ayame, the daughter of the ramen stand owner, interrupted his ruminations. He looked up to see one of the burners in the back of the stand flare up, causing a good-sized flame. Ayame, who was holding Akane, her one-year-old daughter, in a sling at her side, brought the girl out and thrust her at Naruto.

“I don’t want her near that fire,” she said as she moved away. Over her shoulder she told him, “Just watch her for a minute while I put it out.”

Naruto grinned as he held the young girl. Even noticing the shocked looks of the two other patrons were giving him didn’t dampen the sudden good feeling he was having. He had always known that Ayame accepted him, and this wasn’t the first time he had held her daughter, but to automatically give the girl to him, the ‘demon’ of Konoha, when there were two elderly women present made his heart burst with pride.

I almost wish she wasn’t married, Naruto thought with a chuckle. He cooed at the baby and made childish faces, both of which caused Akane to giggle. He then moved his ramen bowl out of the way and stood her on the counter while holding onto her waist so she wouldn’t fall. The little girl seemed to enjoy that and started waving her arms around in an exaggerated fashion.

After a minute or so, Akane began staring intently at Naruto’s face. She’s probably focusing on my whisker marks, he thought wryly. Over the years they had deepened somewhat, especially after he had allowed Kyuubi to alter his genetic structure slightly to enable him to handle more tails when using his demonic fox-form jutsu. He could now access six tails without losing control, while Kyuubi’s internal charka healed him fast enough to prevent any cellular breakdown.

Suddenly, Akane placed both hands on each side of his face and rubbed the marks. This caused Naruto to grin even more. Then, just as quickly, she laughed excitedly and started slapping his face. He heard a gasp from the side and noticed that one of the old women had fainted, while the other was looking on in horror. What the hell? he wondered. Do they expect me to go berserk and eat Akane or something?

“Why is it that all women seem to want to do that to you Naruto?” Ayame asked with a smirk as she walked back to the counter, apparently having dealt with the crisis.

“Hey!” Naruto protested with a huff. “Not all women are like that. Just most of them.” He added that last part with a small grumble and a pout.

Ayame just chuckled and held out her hands. Naruto kissed Akane on the forehead before passing her back to her mother. Once relieved of his small burden, he grabbed his bowl again and started eating. After a few seconds, he looked over and noticed the two old women in the same state. With a sigh, he got up and snapped his fingers in front of the one still awake. She screamed and fell backwards over her stool, then started scooting away from him.

“Jeez,” he mumbled. He then went to the other woman, who had slumped out of her seat when she fainted. He bent down and picked her up, which seemed to cause her friend to develop a backbone.

“Leave her alone, you monster!” the woman screamed.

Naruto ignored her and placed the woman in his arms on the stool closest to the wall, propping her up so she wouldn’t fall. He then turned to the other woman, who seemed stuck somewhere between fear and indignation.

“Would you like a hand up?” he asked calmly. The woman apparently didn’t trust her own voice because she simply shook her head rapidly.

“Fine,” he said, before returning to his seat and resuming his meal.

“Are you alright, Naruto-kun?” Ayame asked softly.

“Yeah,” he said, blowing out a small breath. He continued on in a resigned tone that he made sure was loud enough for the conscious old woman to here. “You know, sometimes I wonder what else I can do to prove myself to everyone. I saved the village during the Sand/Sound invasion when I was a genin. Then I risked my life to retrieve Sasuke, even if the bastard left again later. I teamed up with ero-sennin to kill Orochimaru, and nearly died because of it. I also helped kill most of Akatsuki. And, of course, I go on missions for this village almost daily and I’ve never once hurt anyone here. What the hell else am I supposed to do!”

By the time his rant finished, Naruto had balled up his fists and screwed his eyes shut. He was slightly startled when he felt a set of hands on one of his. He opened his eyes to find Ayame’s hands on his and her looking warmly at him.

“Even if there are still those who don’t understand what an important contribution you make, remember that there are always people around who do appreciate you.”

Naruto opened his fist and gripped her small hands, giving them a light squeeze. He could feel his eyes tearing up a bit, and fought to maintain his composure.

“Thanks, Ayame-chan,” he said, his voice slightly hoarse. Naruto then turned his attention back to his ramen, since he wanted to eat it while it was still warm, and it gave him something other than his emotions to focus on.

“You’re welcome,” she replied. “Would you like me to get another bowl ready for you?”

“Yeah,” he said in between slurps. “I’ll have a large pork and vegetable please.”

After having finished up several bowls, during which time the unconscious woman woke up and left with her friend, Naruto stood and stretched. He thanked Ayame for the food, as well as the encouragement, placed enough money on the counter to pay for his meal with enough left over for a good-sized tip, and stepped out into the afternoon sunlight.

After placing a hand over his eyes to shield them, he waited a moment for them to adjust. Unfortunately, that momentary lapse was enough time for someone to run into him. The collision didn’t faze him in the least, and he looked down to see who his unlucky victim was. What he saw caused him to smirk.

Slender and willowy frame? Check. Haughty and arrogant demeanor? Check. A beauty that was both severe yet compelling at the same time? Check. Rather standard ninja outfit that did nothing to accentuate her features, limited as they may be? Check. Pale, lavender eyes that could easily hide and read emotions, and that happened to be glaring at him at the moment? Check.

Ah, the Ice Princess of Konoha, Naruto thought. With the exception of Hinata and Neji, he did not have a high opinion of the Hyuuga clan. They were far too arrogant for his tastes, even Neji a lot of the time, and it irked him to no end; especially how most of them looked down on him with disgust. Having this opportunity to tease Hanabi was something he planned to enjoy. Immensely. His smile widened as he spoke to her.

“You really should be more careful, Hanabi-chan.”

Hanabi intensified the glare she was directing at the demon container in front of her. How dare he act so familiar with me? She had learned, along with the rest of the younger members of the village, of the burden Naruto carried several years ago. He apparently got tired hiding it and finally told several people, who in turn spread it to others. Of course, even knowing what he was only gave her a small amount of fear, not enough to overcome the image of Hyuuga superiority.

“You will address me as Hyuuga-sama,” she snapped. Of course, she instantly realized that still being flat on her butt sort of took away from the effect.

“Oh?” Naruto said, cupping his chin with one hand in a contemplative gesture. “And why would I want to do that, Hanabi-chan?”

“Because I am a member of the royal clan, and you will treat me with respect.” As she spoke, she stood up and faced him. Much to her delight, she found that she was, in fact, about an inch taller than him.

“Respect?” he snorted. “Royal clan? Give me a break. I call the Hokage, oba-chan. I call Jiraiya, ero-sennin. I even refer to your sister as Hinata-chan and Neji by his given name. What makes you think I’m going to treat you any different? Besides, I’m not one of the normal sycophants you’re used to dealing with.”

“Sycophants,” she sneered. “I’m surprised you even know such a big word.” She hoped to get him angry, to get him off balance. To prove her superiority. Unfortunately, he just grinned even wider and continued as if he hadn’t heard her.

“And respect? Please. You cocky Hyuuga, with the exception of Hinata-chan, and sometimes Neji, think that your Byakugan, and the power it gives you, makes you fit to rule. You believe in the ‘might makes right’ philosophy. Well, Hanabi-chan, I can kick the ass of any Hyuuga out there. Therefore, doesn’t that mean that you should be the one treating me with respect?”

“You bastard!” she yelled, before gaining control of herself. “Fine, let’s take this out to one of the training areas and I’ll show you just how lowly you are.” If she had stopped to really think this course of action through, it is possible that she would have reconsidered. Possible, but not likely.

“Sure,” he said with a grin. “I was planning on doing some more training today. A light spar will be a good warm-up.” He turned and started heading off towards one of the training areas without so much as a backwards glance.

Hanabi growled a little at his veiled insult of her talent before stalking after him.

Naruto led Hanabi to training area seven. He didn’t bother looking back to see if she was there. His heightened senses told him all he needed to know. The whole way there, the grin never once left his face. I’m going to enjoy this.

Once they arrived, Naruto turned to face her. She had apparently calmed down a little, but she was still a little storm cloud, waiting to be released. He was looking forward to it.

“Well,” he drawled, “here we are. Since this is just a spar, I won’t release my demon fox-form jutsu. Other than that, I think anything is fair game. How does that sound?”

“Fine!” she spat, though he could detect a sense of relief at the concession he just made. After taking a deep breath, she positioned herself into a Jyuuken stance.

“Before we start,” Naruto said, “do you have any interest in a wager?” The slight widening of her eyes told him he’d caught her off guard, but she quickly narrowed them again.

“What kind of wager?” she asked carefully.

“Well, for starters, if you win I’ll have to call you Hyuuga-sama, or Hyuuga-hime if you prefer, whenever I refer to you.”

She seemed to consider that for a moment. “And if the very slim possibility that I lose should happen?”

Naruto couldn’t help but smirk. “Then you will refer to me as Naruto-sama.”

“How dare you suggest such a thing!”

“Oh, I see. Not that confident that you’ll win, huh?” He watched as she sputtered briefly, knowing that because of her pride he had her.

“Fine. It’s not like I’m going to lose anyway, so it won’t matter.”

“Okay then,” he said. “Since you’re so confident, how about an additional wager? If you win, I’ll be your slave for a day. If I win, you will treat me to dinner tonight at a restaurant of my choosing.”

“You mean... like a... d-date?”

“Wow,” he chuckled, “you almost sound like Hinata used to.”

“I am nothing like that weakling!” Hanabi shouted. Naruto did not take well to one of his precious people being insulted.

“Listen you little bitch,” Naruto snarled, “just because she’s kind, and doesn’t like hurting other people, does not make her a weakling. If you truly believe that, then you’re the one who’s a weakling.”

Apparently, that was enough for Hanabi to reach her limit of patience. With a growl, she activated her Byakugan and charged in quickly, attacking with a near animalistic fervor. Still, to Naruto, who had more than five years additional experience, as well as significantly better training and infinitely more stamina, it was what he would consider a light workout.

He decided to let her keep attacking, while he merely dodged. It went on this way for over ten minutes with her not able to land a single hit on him. Meanwhile, since Naruto often trained with Neji, he took the time to point out flaws in her style as she attacked. This only served to infuriate her even more, and caused her to redouble her efforts.

After another five minutes or so, Naruto decided to go on the offensive. The use of seals was merely a means of helping someone form charka properly, and with enough practice certain jutsu could be performed without them. Thus, not bothering to make any seals, Naruto formed five Shadow Clones around Hanabi. Of course, with her Byakugan, she was instantly aware of all of them. The real Naruto stood back and placed his right hand behind his back while the clones moved in.

As he expected, Hanabi became surrounded by a blue glow and she began to spin. “Kaiten!” she cried, and all of those clones were thrown back and disappeared. The moment her spin stopped, she had a smug look on her face. It didn’t last long.

Naruto waited for that exact moment and with a speed that would make Lee proud, he rushed in and shoved his hand forward. “Rasengan!” he shouted, as he rammed a swirling ball of charka into her torso. He had only made a stage two Rasengan, since he didn’t want to kill her. Of course, it had two effects. The first is that it literally ripped apart the front of her outfit, leaving a blue sports bra the only thing covering her smallish assets. However, the bra did get pretty shredded in the process as well. Second, it started her whole body spinning like a like a pinwheel before she was blown back into a tree.

Before she could even think of recovering, Naruto was in front of her with a kunai at her throat. He pressed it against her skin just enough for her to feel it, but he did not break the skin. Once she had seemingly recovered enough, Naruto spoke.

“That was very sloppy, Hanabi-chan,” he said. “I hope that if you and I ever spar again that you’ll at least calm down and focus a little more. Now,” he pricked her neck lightly, “do you concede?”

The anger and frustration on her face was as clear as day. She glowered at him, but gave a tiny nod nonetheless. Satisfied, Naruto placed his kunai back in its holder and stepped away from her. He took a moment to give her a once-over with his eyes.

“Not bad, Hanabi-chan,” he said with a chuckle. “Not as curvy or developed as your sister, but I like the skinny types better. It’s too bad we never agreed on the second part of the bet. Ah well, maybe next time.”

With a laugh, Naruto turned and started walking away. His mind was reviewing her current state of dress, or undress as it were, so he was too preoccupied to notice what happened next.

Hanabi looked down at herself and was mortified at the condition of her clothing. Or lack thereof. Her embarrassment quickly turned to anger at the person responsible. That, coupled with her defeat at his hands, and how he had taunted her, quickly escalated her feelings into blistering, white-hot rage. Without even considering the consequences, she rushed forward and sent a palm strike into his back, right where the heart was located. She released enough chakra into the attack to make it a killing blow.

Naruto stopped walking and just stood there; not even turning to face her. That action, or rather the lack of any, caused her to snap out of her infuriated state and step back in shame. What in the hell was I thinking? This was just a spar. Now I’ve killed a fellow Leaf-nin.

Much to her surprise, Naruto didn’t fall down like she expected. He simply stood there, and Hanabi wondered if perhaps she’d missed his heart and he was, in fact, going to live.

“Are... are you okay?” she asked with uncharacteristic timidity. “I-”

Whatever else she was going to say was cut off as she was suddenly slammed back into the tree with enough force for her to nearly lose consciousness. She gasped, trying to breathe after not only having the breath knocked out of her, but also having a hand clenched around her throat. Of course, the pain of her bruised back and spine didn’t help either.

“Am I okay?” Naruto asked, his voice suddenly sounding terrifying. She looked into his eyes and gasped as she beheld, not the sapphire-blue she expected, but a menacing red. “You try to kill me, and then have the nerve to ask if I’m okay? My, my, what a polite assassin you are.” He used his arm to lift her higher against the tree, which made breathing even more difficult.

“I... I didn’t mean to...” Hanabi had never felt as afraid for her life as she did now.

“Who sent you?” Naruto asked, ignoring her words. “This was a pretty clever setup, getting my guard down like that. For some dumb reason I thought that despite your bitchy attitude I could trust you. Stupid me. Now, who sent you? Was it your clan? Did someone else hire you?”

“No-no one,” she hissed, barely able to get the words out as she grabbed his arm in an attempt to get him to let go. “I didn’t m-mean to. Please p-put me down and l-let me ex-explain.”

Naruto looked deep into her eyes, as if peering into her soul. After nearly a minute, the lack of oxygen was starting to cause spots to form in her vision. Finally, as if seeing whatever it is he wanted, Naruto slowly let her down. He didn’t remove his hand from her neck, but he did loosen it enough to allow her to breathe normally.

“Speak,” he demanded. “And I warn you, don’t lie to me. I will know if you are.”

Hanabi nodded and gathered her thoughts. She knew that this was no time for foolish pride. Her very life was on the line. Taking a deep breath, she spoke as calmly as she could.

“Nobody sent me to kill you. I came out here for just the reason you thought, to beat you in a fight and prove that I was superior to you.”

Naruto snorted, and tightened his grip slightly. “I certainly hope you learned your lesson.”

“Yes,” Hanabi replied, her voice surprisingly meek.

“Yes, what?” Naruto demanded.

“Yes, Naruto-sama.” It was strange. The only other person she had addressed with respect before was her father. Sure, she acted respectfully towards the Hokage when accepting missions, but she merely considered that part of her duty. In addressing Naruto in this manner, Hanabi found that she could indeed respect him, or at least his strength, a little. It was certainly something to ponder, assuming she would get the chance after he was done with her.

“Better. I’m glad to see you’re at least willing to live up to your part of the agreement. That is, if I choose to let you live. Continue.”

“After you beat me, I noticed my state of dress. That, combined with my anger at losing the fight and your taunting, caused me to lose control. I... I have no excuse.” She bowed her head and waited for Naruto to pass judgment on her.

She wasn’t sure how long they stood there like that, but after a time Naruto spoke to her in a conversational tone. “Did you know that the Hokage has given me permission to deal with attempted assassinations in any manner I choose? Regardless of who they are? I could kill you right now, and I would be within my rights.”

“Yes, Naruto-sama.”

“I don’t think I’m going to though.” At these words, she lifted her face and noticed he had a grim smile and his eyes had returned to their normal color.

“Thank you, Naruto-sama.”

“Don’t thank me just yet, Hanabi-chan,” he said. “I won’t take your life, but I want something else in return.”

“What?”

“I want that date that we never had the chance to bet upon. You will meet me at The Shinobi Garden at seven o’clock tonight, and I expect you to be dressed to impress. After dinner, we will decide where to go from there. Do you agree?”

“Why?” she asked in genuine puzzlement. “Why would you want to go out with me? Especially after this?”

“Because, Hanabi-chan, I recognize a mask when I see one. I wore one for more than half my life. I think that underneath that façade you put up there’s a girl worth getting to know. If, after tonight, you don’t want anything else to do with me, that’s fine. I’m not expecting some sort of romance to come out of this, though I certainly wouldn’t mind...” He trailed off and purposefully shifted his gaze to take in her exposed nature again. “But know this, Hanabi-chan, I will never force myself on you.”

“How can I trust you?” she asked in a quiet voice, while fighting a small blush. In reality she was unsettled by his frank manner, his interest in her, and the small spark of desire within herself that being dominated by him in this fashion was causing.

“Maybe the same way I trusted you when I turned my back on you,” he snapped. She flinched slightly and he calmed down. “Besides, while most women in this village don’t want a relationship with me for obvious reasons, there are quite a few who want to take the ‘demon’ of Konoha for a ride. Most of them aren’t worth the time, but I certainly have options if I wanted them. Therefore, I don’t need to force anybody.”

Hanabi wasn’t surprised that there were women throwing themselves at him for sex. He was probably one of the most attractive men in Konoha, and his legendary stamina probably made him a tiger in the sack. In fact, if it wasn’t for the Kyuubi, he would likely have every single woman in the village trying to bed him.

This line of thought made her think about her own one-time sexual experience, and how lacking she had felt afterwards. How she suspected something was missing. She briefly entertained the idea that Naruto might be able to help her discover what that ‘something’ was, but then she quashed the idea. He was being a total jerk earlier. And even if I made a mistake and let myself lose control, he still almost killed me! However, the feeling of being powerless in his presence gave her a thrill that she couldn’t begin to fathom.

Besides, she thought to herself, going out on a date with him will certainly piss off the elders to no end. I can just picture their faces now! She had to fight off a giggle as their shocked expressions filled her mind.

“So what is your answer?” Naruto asked.

What the hell, she thought. “Okay. I promise I’ll be there.”

“Good,” he responded. He completely let go of her and stepped back. After taking another look at her, he smirked a bit before pulling off his shirt and handing it to her. “I don’t think you’ll want to walk through the village looking like that.”

Hanabi couldn’t help but blush as she stared at his well-defined chest. She took the shirt and slipped it over her head, where it hung rather loosely. While she was slightly taller than him, her height came from her legs while his was more in the torso. Thus, not only was the shirt long on her, it was also overly cumbersome because of how big his upper body was.

She watched as Naruto gave her the once-over with his eyes again, though now they seemed to hold a bit of mischief. “I was going to say that you could return that to me tonight, but now I’m thinking that would make a great nightshirt for you. It makes you look like the little tigress you are.”

“Hmph,” she responded, though inwardly the comment pleased her on some levels. Regardless, Hanabi still planned on returning the shirt to him that night. Not wanting to give him the satisfaction of a response, she started to walk by him. Just as she was nearly past, he grabbed her arm. Not roughly, just enough to make her stop. She looked at him with an eyebrow raised and felt her temperature rise as he leaned in towards her.

“I can easily imagine,” he whispered in her ear, “that you have very sexy legs. This isn’t a demand, but I would like very much if you were to wear something tonight that shows them off.”

With that, he suddenly disappeared, leaving her there feeling flush. Hanabi could feel the heat building inside her and she ruthlessly crushed it down. Refusing to allow herself to worry about him anymore, she quickly made her way out of the training area and headed towards home.

Nobody better ask me about this shirt or I’m going to kick their ass!

Thanks for reading. Remember, this Naruto is now 21-years-old. Obviously, he is not going to act in the same stupid fashion as he used to. Regardless, please take a moment and let me know what you think. I try to leave reviews for every story I read and would appreciate it if you could return the favor.

Anyhow, you now have an idea how things are starting to play out with Naruto and Hanabi. I have also hinted at his relationship with Sakura. His connection with Hinata is easily guessed, but I think you’ll find his relationship with Ino to be a lot of fun.

This story has no set length yet. I know where it’s going, I just need to take the time to get it there. Anyhow, thanks again for reading. Remember that all comments are welcome, as long as they’re constructive.
