AijinMegami: - . –U I'm sorry but this is the last chapter. Fallen Angels is finally ending. I'm not sure what to think of the ending. Er… people will probably flame me because of this chapter but oh well.
I DON'T OWN BEYBLADE! ENJOY!
"…I think I love him."
To this, Tsuki didn't say anything. Hilary looked up from the pillows when Tsuki didn't say anything. "Why aren't you saying anything?"
"There's nothing for me to say."
"…you knew, didn't you?" Hilary said accusingly but there was no malice in her voice, only curiosity. Tsuki closed her eyes and nodded. Hilary chuckled. "Was I that obvious?"
"I'm sure you had no idea of your feelings either. But there's one thing I do not understand." Tsuki said opening her eyes slowly, watching Hilary.
"Okay, shoot."
"How did you know you were in love?"
"Let me help you." Was that desperation in his voice? She couldn't tell and she didn't want to know. "Hilary, this isn't something you need to go through by yourself. Just tell me what to do and I'll do it."
Sing a song to make you smile?
Make the rain stop eternally just to stop your tears?
Fight all the crazies in the world just to make you feel safe?
Tell me, Hilary, tell me. Just tell me and I'll do it, all of it just to make you mine forever.
"Stop…" that was all she couldn't say. No, she really had a choice. Hilary knew she could hurt him so badly that he wouldn't want anything to do with her, crush that spirit so that he would feel useless. But she couldn't do that, she could never do that. In his arms, just a few more seconds, that was the only thing she wanted.
"Hilary," their breaths mingled. His eyes stared so deeply into hers, she felt as if he pierced right through her. The barriers that hid everything was torn down, making her feel so exposed.
She tried to turn her face away but he pulled her back with a gentle grasp on her chin. "You don't know what you're getting yourself into."
"Does it look like I care?"
An empty silence surrounded both of them.
"You will die the moment you step into my world."
"Do I have to repeat myself?"
Those words echoed within her mind.
"Kai…" she felt him shudder, feeling her breath against his lips. She was so small beneath his grasp. Kai pulled her closer, feeling no resistance.
She closed her eyes, knowing he was coming closer. To her surprise, he swerved to the right beside her face. Hilary felt her cheeks redden, Kai's face buried into her neck. He kissed the exposed skin there, placing light gentle nips and bites. Unconsciously, she tilted her head to give him room.
This moment and feeling she wished for it to last forever. Hilary entangled her fingers in his locks, pulling him closer. She almost whimpered at the loss of him against her skin when he pulled back. A small grin was on his face.
"I've made my mark Hilary… I'm sticking with you through this till the end. That is the promise I give you with this mark."
"…corny but I have to hand it to him, he sure knows how to make a girl feel special." Tsuki mused, peeking at the bruise resembling mark on Hilary's neck. The brunette squeaked, covering up her neck as much as she could. "What are you going to do now?"
"…I don't know Tsuki…I really don't know."
The Russian two-toned hair did not answer. He simply gazed out the window, torn between feeling giddy and miserable. Giddy that he actually placed a mark on Hilary that showed his claim on her or miserable that he couldn't be near her. Since he was in front of Tyson, he stuck with the lateral.
"What do you want loser?"
"You saw Hilary, didn't you?" he accused.
"Why?"
Max pulled Tyson down onto the sofa and Ray took over the conversation, knowing if Tyson spoke again fists were going to fly. "We're all concerned about her Kai, it wouldn't be fair if only you were involved with what was going on with her."
"I saw her but she told me nothing." He said truthfully. "She only said that we shouldn't get involved."
"Hah!" Tyson yelled. "As if, we're involved in this whether she likes it or not! Teammates always stick with each other and if she doesn't know that that's how the Bladebreakers work, she isn't as smart as everyone thought she was."
A pillow flew by and smacked Tyson on the face. Ray, Max, and Kenny sweat dropped at Kai who resumed his original position of being moody while staring out at the window. Actually, he seemed in an even dark mood then before "…I think we should stay out Kai's way for now."
"You think?"
"…yes, that isn't a bad idea." Kuragari said while taking a sip of her own glass. She frowned; the hotel didn't have good wine. They tasted so bitter which probably meant that the wine wasn't that old.
"So what should we do first?"
"The curse… shall we activate it now? Once it is on, everything will simple occur by itself." Kuragari felt her grin grow. "The others have not succumbed to the power yet but it is only a matter of time. Their wills are strong but everyone will bend sooner or later."
"Perhaps a little wager then?"
"On what?"
"On who will fall first, of course."
"Well Kitsune has already fallen," she said in a mocking tone as if she was seriously considering this little bet. "I say first will be Alexis, then Hikaru. I'm stuck between Tsuki and Hilary."
"Interesting," Ryan threw away his glass of wine into a nearby plant. It wasn't like he could actually taste it. Anything that was wondering to humans was useless for him. 'Because I think Hilary will be the first one to fall…'
The two were so immersed with their conversation that they didn't notice little Heather watching their every move with hawk-like eyes. She watched them silently, owl like wisdom spilling from her. Without another word, Heather faded into the shadows.
"What?"
"They're going to make their move soon." She didn't need to emphasize who 'they' were. There was no other 'they' in the Fallen Angel's mind then Kuragari and Ryan. Alexis didn't even want to know how Tsuki knew these things. It was better to leave it a secret.
"So what's going to happen?"
"I don't know… where's Hikaru?" Alexis pointed towards Hilary's room. "Why's she in there?"
"Hikaru probably had a dream about what happened in the past. I think it's starting to get to her." Hikaru had, in a way, blocked everything horrible that had happened. The strange part was that she also seemed conscious of it. It sounds contradictory but it was true. Hikaru seemed to know everything yet not at the same time.
"…I think she's starting to see everything in the same light now."
"I was hoping everything would get settled before that happened." Alexis bit her lip. "Promise me one thing though Tsuki."
"What is it?"
"If Hikaru were to fall, let me be the one to kill her."
Tsuki didn't bat an eye at how desperate Alexis's sounded. In fact, she seemed relieved at the thought that she didn't have to kill sweet innocent Hikaru. It was selfish of her but she really didn't want to harm Hikaru.
"I don't know your reasons but okay but you have to promise me one thing."
"What is it?" Alexis asked cautiously.
"If you have to end up killing Hikaru, make it as painless as possible." Tsuki said firmly. Her words spoke of pain given to Alexis if she weren't to follow up with her promise. Alexis grinned.
"Is that really something you need to tell me?"
She felt like a goddess.
Wings, black wings. That was what she possessed. Beautiful and strong like Dranzer's wings, no, her wings were better. They were stronger and made her move even faster than Drigger who was the fastest out of all the Bladebreakers. She grinned, feeling to free.
There was nothing that could cage her down. NOTHING!
Hilary…
A firm masculine voice called out to her.
She ignored it, wanting to fly. Her body sought flight and that was what she shall give it. Embrace the freedom, at the feel of the curse lifted. Hilary laughed, feeling the wind against her hair.
Hilary…
There was that voice again. Her smile began to fade. Hilary felt chains on her black wings, trying to pull her down. She struggled but couldn't move! No, she was being held against her will once more!
Where was Tsuki? Where were the others? Were they alright? She growled and snarled, snapping for freedom. "Let me go!"
…no… let me go.
Eyes snapped opened as she sat up quickly. What the hell was that about? Two bodies were on top of her. She looked down wildly. Hilary sighed in relief. It was only Heather and Hikaru, fast asleep above her.
She remembered now. Hikaru came because she was scared of the feelings that ran through her and Heather had probably arrived a few hours later. Heather always slept with Hilary. It was something she did the moment they had met one another and it was something Hilary believed was going to last a long time.
She ran her hand through her mussed hair, feeling tired then before. Apparently sleep didn't help her rejuvenate; it only made her feel worse. The irony made Hilary's' headache grow worse.
There was a knock and the door opened gently. Before her was Tsuki, ready for the new day. In her hands was the heavenly cup of coffee that would definitely help her start her day. Tsuki grinned at Hilary's puppy eyes, staring wantonly at the mug in her hands.
"Coffee?"
"Please," Hilary said desperately.
With a chuckle, Tsuki handed her the brown mug. She frowned at Hilary's exhausted appearance.
"Not enough sleep?"
"No, too much sleep?"
"Huh?" Tsuki seemed confused.
"When I sleep," she sipped the coffee, sighing at the warmth, "it only seems to make things worse."
"Ah, talk to Alexis about it." Tsuki shrugged at Hilary's questioning gaze. "Alexis's is nocturnal so she knows exercises that'll help you be calm."
"Thanks… I think."
Silence…
"Tsuki?"
"Yeah?"
"…something's going to happen today, isn't it?"
Tsuki looked at Hilary, the one person she had never lied to in her whole life. It would be better to lie, everyone loves lies. It kept them safe and protected but it kept them too naïve with a high chance of dying. No, it was better not to lie.
"No."
Too bad Tsuki never listened to the rules.
"Beyblade?" she mumbled, staring at the sharp beyblade in her hand. It glowed in her hand, as if understanding who she was and what she met to the blade's owner. The figure before her grinned.
"Yup, isn't it cool?" Ryou laughed, smacking Kitsune on the back. She yelped and fell forward, dropping the blade. He cried out, his eyes widening, as he dropped to the ground to catch the blade.
"…what the hell is this?" she growled. "Ryou, you shouldn't be playing around with a toy. I'm already busy with the band and that's the only source of income that we have. Instead of playing with a stupid toy, you should be working hard to find a job or at least pay attention in school at the very least."
He laughed, putting her in a headlock. Kitsune yelped, struggling to get away. "Aw, c'mon little sis. You shouldn't be so uptight."
She tore out of his grasp and grabbed the edge of the table, lifting it over her head. "I'LL SHOW YOU UPTIGHT!"
"…please…" she pleaded to the unknown. "Please let everything end smoothly. Make me receive all the punishment, just leave everyone alone. Please big brother… make this pain go away."
Kitsune suddenly stood up from her place in the corner. Walking towards her bed, she grabbed her beyblade. This were going to start now… whether they wanted it or not.
"…no… it's nothing." She inhaled deeply and then knocked. There was a loud yell and the sound of crashing before the door opened. There stood a weary looking Ray in front of her, leaning against the door frame.
"Oh, Tsuki, it's you." He grunted, standing aside so she could enter.
She didn't move.
"I have a favor to ask of you."
On top of the couch was Ryan looking bored. "Kitsune's starting to move."
"And…"
"Shouldn't we as well?"
She stared at Ryan blankly before smiling, her cheeks flushed from the alcohol. "Not a bad idea. Who should we start with?" Kuragari rummaged through her desk, trying to find who knows what. He watched with vacant eyes.
"Kuragari…"
"Hm?" she was still rummaging.
"Do you know what the curse of the Fallen Angel's is?" she froze and looked up, curious at why he would ask such a thing all of a sudden.
"I know the curse separates the girls from the other bladers but unfortunately, I am not aware of what the true aspect of the curse is. Does it have anything to do with them being bitbeasts?" he didn't speak, contemplating on whether to answer.
She let out a startled cry when he suddenly stood up. Ryan grabbed the bottle she had been drinking and took a long swing of it. She sweat dropped as he slammed the bottle on the desk.
"Great, now what's wrong?"
He grinned viciously at her. "Being homesick is a bitch."
"Huh?"
"It's nothing… activate the curse on Kitsune."
"You're awake." It was a gruff voice, sounding very annoyed. She looked to the side and saw Tyson sitting on a chair. Hilary was too tired to get shocked.
"Tyson?"
"Humph, it's about time you woke up." He grumbled only to be knocked out of the chair by Daichi and Max.
"Man Tyson, why are your panties always in a twist? Ever since Hilary joined that other beyblade team, you've been sulking the every time we see you." Daichi complained, having his partner in crime completely preoccupied.
"Ignore both of them." Max said with a sigh. "It's good to have you back though."
"What are you talking about?" she asked confused.
"Favor? What kind of favor?" Kai growled. His whole body tense with suspicion. She may have helped them from time to time but that didn't mean he trusted her. In a way, he kind of viewed it her fault for allowing Hilary to stay in such a position if she didn't like Hilary being there.
Hikaru hid behind Tsuki, afraid. "I want to get Hilary out of here and to do that, I need your help."
"But what can we do? From what you told us so far, there isn't much we can do to help." Kenny protested. She shook her head.
"No, there is much you can do. For example, you can sneak Hilary out of her room without anyone noticing. Heather is no where to be seen so she can't get in our way, the others are occupied with things, and the two Kuragari and Ryan are doing something in their room that I do not know."
She was a good liar, having practiced for many times. Tsuki knew what Kuragari and Ryan were thinking about.
"Why are you doing this all of a sudden?"
"This is the perfect opportunity."
"Liar, there's something you're not telling us!" Tyson yelled. Hilary, the girl who was like his sister, was in a dangerous situation and he couldn't do anything about it! Frustration gripped his heart and anger roar, there must be something. Something, anything!
"She's telling the truth!" Hikaru argued but silenced herself when Tsuki placed a hand on her head.
"…please… I don't want her to get hurt."
"What? This doesn't mean I'm free." Her eyes narrowed in anger. "You guys don't understand! They'll hunt me down if I don't return; they'll kill everyone just to get me back! Do you want that? Do you want people dead because of me?"
Kenny whimpered, nervousness evident. Daichi glared at her. "People aren't going to die so stop whining."
"You don't understand!" she stopped speaking when the ground shook, a loud explosion filling their ears.
"Get her out," Tsuki whispered, "and then get out of here as fast as you can."
Hilary jerked forward when Kai yanked her forward by the arm. She squeaked when he suddenly threw her over his shoulder, carrying her with him as the others began to run. "Damn it, I knew we should have left already!"
"But we couldn't just leave her unconscious!" Kenny yelled, running after him with the others following. "There would have been a high chance of getting caught by someone if they saw us just carrying her like that."
"You mean like the way Kai's carrying her right now?" Max yelled as chaos surrounded them.
"I don't know what's going on but less talk and more running!" it was obviously Michael speaking.
"Ah, my dear Hilary, it's so great to see you in such an endearing position!" Enrique said laughing. Robert smacked him on the head and he nodded, getting serious. "I almost forgot. How dare you Hiwatari, carrying my Hilary in such an undignified position. Get her down this instant."
"Stupid, if we stop to put her down she might run away!"
"Run away from what?"
They could say no more because another explosion rocked the floor. Cries were heard as a large piece of the ceiling fell. It forced their group to separate. Hilary and Kai ended up with Tyson, the rest of them lost on the other side of the huge slab of concrete that also blocked their pathway.
Tyson coughed. "Damn it! That was the nearest exit."
"Put me down!"
"C'mon." Kai growled.
There, covered in flames, was Kitsune. Her hair was no longer just red; it was actually made of fire. It moved like a whip, lashing out to time from time to time. Tsuki narrowed her eyes, seeing a light connection between Kitsune and Kuragari. Ryan stood there passively.
"My world is of spirits… of the dead… your little Kitsune is now one of us." He said quietly.
"What?" Alexis growled.
Tsuki looked grim. "A curse of dreams, a curse of screams. Children of spirits, of fire and earth. Caged like beasts, a bitbeast you are. Forever and ever, a spirit to be cursed."
"Huh?" Kuragari looked confused.
"The girls when given the artifacts were turned into bitbeasts, caught by the spirits of five. They're no longer truly alive, caught between being dead and alive. When the curse is truly activated, they will be forced to enter the planes they now belong in."
"What?" Hikaru gawked. Alexis covered her face. It felt as if only Tsuki and Ryan understood what was truly going on.
"What is that line between Kuragari and Kitsune?" Kuragari grinned before revealing her hand. There was Kitsune's beyblade, a glowing streak connecting Kitsune to her.
"So we're not human?" Hikaru whispered. "We're bitbeasts now? We're not alive?"
"WHAT?" they turned around to see Tyson with Kai who had Hilary over his shoulder. Tsuki groaned, what were they doing here?
"Enough of these nonsense, Kitsune, KILL THEM!"
"Shit, Tyson shoot your blade."
"What?"
"DAMN IT, STOP ASKING QUESTIONS AND JUST LAUNCH DRAGOON!" Hilary yelled, wanting very much to get down. Kai still hand a firm grip on her and was unable to release Dranzer.
"Let it rip!" he yelled.
"Summon him!" Tsuki ordered.
"Stop ordering me around. DRAGOON!" a familiar gleam appeared as the dragon of wind appeared, gliding along the air. Kitsune glared at Dragoon before lunging at him. Tyson was flown backwards as Kitsune tackled Dragoon.
"They're defenseless now," Alexis whispered.
"Who's defenseless?" there was a scream as earth wrapped around Hikaru's feet. It sent her jerking onto the floor. Tsuki tackled Ryan, breaking his concentration. The earth slowly crumbled and Alexis dragged Hikaru away.
"Let Kitsune go."
"Too late little angel of death, you can't save any of them. Kuragari, activate the curses on the little one." Her answer was a cry of pain as Alexis tackled her. Hikaru stood still, confused at what to do.
"Kai, put me down! I won't run away!" Hilary pleaded. He glared at the scene, contemplating on what to do. He placed her down and yanked out Dranzer, setting her loose.
"Look, I'll stop anyone who's going to try and get in your way so hurry up and get out of here." He ordered. She froze at his harsh voice before glaring back.
"Shut up, I can stand my ground! Don't tell me what to do." she glowered.
He turned around. "Why can't you understand what I'm saying? Get out of here before they get you too!"
"No, why can't you understand me? If they activate the curse, it won't matter where I am. They'll get me either way. I'm staying here and do what I can, I'm not going to run-." She was stopped by Kai yanking her forward for a kiss.
It was filled with hunger and fear, fear for her. To think that the Ice Prince Kai Hiwatari would be scared for her made her still. He held her firmly, trying to take in as much of her as possible. He almost appeared unwilling to let her go but the need for air approached and they broke apart.
"I can't lose you to whatever this is."
"Stupid wench, I guess I'll have to activate the curse." There in Ryan's hand was a blank bitchip. It glowed and was facing Hilary and she felt her body stiffen against her will. Something was being pulled out of her. Pain racked her body and she fell forward, feeling spasms controlling her body. There was a loud rip behind her and she felt something pull out.
Black wings…
Kai knew what he saw would haunt him for years to come.
She screamed, feeling the wings stretch. A black glow surrounded her and her eyes glowed red, a darker shade of red that was completely different from her usual eyes. Tsuki, under Ryan's foot, struggled to free herself. "H-Hilary."
"…no way…" Kai whispered.
"What's going on?" Tyson yelled. Dragoon had a claw over Kitsune, caging her on the ground. He felt his palms burning from the uncontrollable flames that was flowing out of Kitsune's body. She bit and scratched, trying to reach for freedom.
Ryan sneered at Kai's expression. "Surprised? Your little Hilary is none other than Black Dranzer, one of the grand spirits. The same level as the sacred bitbeasts but with a darker aura that would forever hold you in a grasp of fear." He turned to Hilary. "Now, my little angel, kill him."
"NO!" Tsuki knocked him off his feet and tried to grab his hand but small fingers grabbed her wrist. To her surprise, she saw Hikaru holding her back. "H-Hikaru?"
Instead of the usual warm amber red eyes, there was a pair of white eyes staring at Tsuki. Sharp fangs protruded out of her mouth as she grinned, claws forming from her nails. "Let's play Tsuki…"
Kuragari grinned triumphed, holding a bitchip in her hand. Alexis struggled to get up. The two of them were covered in dirt and flecks of blood. Alexis might be more skilled in fighting but Kuragari was better. After all, she had watched over them and taught them everything.
Hilary screamed, feeling flames licking away her skin. She was becoming the flames, she was becoming one with it.
Hilary…
There it was again, the deep voice.
"Wh-Who are you?" she asked weakly.
…Who are you?
Kai jumped backwards as the black flames grew stronger. "Kill him my beast!" Ryan yelled. If the boy was to die, her already diminishing light would fade forever. Once her light was gone, he would have won the game. A small fun game where a person won if they destroyed the light, the hope of a group of people. In this case, it was little Hilary.
"Get out of my head!" Hilary screamed.
"Dranzer!" Kai yelled, summoning the majestic phoenix. She roared, appeared in a burst of flame, ready to attack at the command of her master.
Hilary's eyes were glowing from power and because of the flames.
"Kill him Hilary…"
"Kill her Alexis."
"I…" sure, she had said she would kill Hikaru but… when actually faced with the moment, she felt fear clench her heart.
"Let me go!" Hikaru yelled, face covered in Tsuki's blood. She was being drenched by it, wearing it proudly.
"H-Hikaru…"
"LET ME GO!"
"KILL HER DAMN IT!"
"I'm sorry…"
Hilary smiled at Kai, feeling his strong arms holding her lovingly. He kissed her hair. Tyson blanched with Diachi at the mushy scene while Max laughed. Ray smiled serenely at the cute display. Kenny was too busy typing away in his laptop.
Five years had passed and everything was calm. Deep within the mountains were three little graves. One belonged to Hikaru, one belonged to Alexis, and the last belonged to Kitsune. Alexis couldn't kill Hikaru in the end and had died by Hikaru's hand.
"Al-Alexis…" Hikaru whimpered.
"…everything's… alright Hikaru…"
Unable to bear the pain, Hikaru died a few weeks later from grief. Kitsune had simply faded away when Ryan died…
How did he die?
"F-Father?" he cried out, seeing the great orb before him. "Wha-What are you doing here?"
"You were being bad Ryan," Heather whispered. "Father isn't happy so you need to go die."
"What?"
That was the last word spoken by him.
The light, that had been what Tsuki had whispered before she disappeared with Heather and the king of bitbeasts. The light isn't something one should destroy. Hilary smiled, snuggling into Kai's chest. "Of course… without the light, there wouldn't exist the shadows that are the darkness."
"…that's how everything ended." Heather whispered with a smile. Tsuki leaned against her back. She smiled serenely at Heather. "Bitbeasts no longer exist in their world because they agreed to exchange them in return that Hilary got to stay."
"Wouldn't the others that own bitbeasts get angry? You know the ones that don't know Hilary and of why they suddenly just disappeared." Tsuki asked confused.
"…bitbeasts are something that shouldn't exist in the real world." Heather explained calmly. "There are some things that should never be touched."
"Heather," Tsuki asked sleepily, "when I get my memory back, can I meet this Hilary? She seems nice…"
When Tsuki fell asleep, Heather smiled. "Sorry Tsuki… but the darkness should never mingle with the light. Remember that… the darkness cannot meet light for light is what creates the darkness. If they touch, there would be no line between the shadows and the daylight."
That's about it… TT . TT
