A DATE WITH THE PAST

Chapter 1: California, here I come!

Max's POV:

On one side I’m happy to get away from Seattle. Shitty weather, a boss who’s always yelling at you and no hot water to have a relaxing bath or shower after one of those fucking seizures. But on the other side I already miss Logan, Sketchy, Kendra and Herbal. Most of all Cindy.

I had someone to talk to about my past because two people know, well except for Logan. He knows but he doesn’t really understand. Not yet… Okay, to be fair to Logan: Last month when I told Cindy about my secret she wasn’t very happy about it. But two weeks ago she moved in with me and we’re even closer friends than before.

But then last week Logan had this emergency. This big bad guy in California that he wanted me to spy on. And of course I said yes. I always do. After all he helps me finding my siblings in return.

And Seattle isn’t very safe anymore. Lydecker knows what I look like and even the South Africans with their Red soldiers are on my ass.

This is a good opportunity to let everything calm down in Seattle. And who knows, maybe it’s nice in New Port, Orange County. Although I don’t really believe that.

All those rich people live there, thinking they’re something better just because they built up their big houses with the huge backyards again and bought some expensive cars for their little supermodel daughters…

I don’t fit in there at all. Hell, I’m from Seattle, the shittiest city on the west coast after the Pulse! They’re probably all gonna turn up their little surgically shaped noses as soon as they see me and hear that I’m from Seattle.

But I’ll adapt. That’s how I was made. But that doesn’t mean I like this.

As soon as I get the information about this Nicholas, or whatever his name is, I'll go back home…
