Lorelei knew what she would find in her heart, but she wanted Faust to make that discovery. She wanted to sail the seas, and Faust to be her sails.

Lorelei looked at him, as he looked at her, and her throat went frozen, her mouth dry.

He was kissing her, and Lorelei could only watch, a stranger in her own body. Just a watcher. Just a stranger.

Faust was special, he was hers. He was a child, and she was his guide. Lorelei was his guardian angel.
