I do not Own Code Lyoko
I do however own Naomi
Chapter 1
It was just another typical day in the life of Jeremie Belpois. He sat at his table in chemistry class. He was a good student He wore a pair of black glasses a turtle neck and khaki pants. He was also very shy in nature, so he kept to himself.’
Ahead of him was Aelita Hopper. She was a very pretty girl with her pink hair, green eyes. He had had a crush on her since the day he first saw her, but never said anything. Almost every male student in the school wanted to date Ms. Hopper, with the exception of Ulrich Stern and Odd Della Robbia. Odd had a girlfriend that was very pretty herself namely the redhead next to him. Naomi Lander she had a heart of pure gold but had a temper to match her hair. Ulrich was with an upperclassmen namely Yumi Ishiyama a Japanese girl, fine looking , and she had always been kind to him. He chocked it up to her having a soft spot for the little people.
Today they where expecting their test results. The teacher slowly made his way through the class as he handed out the papers. When he got to Aelita he could hear the teacher speak although he tried to ignore it.
“Ms. Hopper,” He said placing a piece of paper face down on her table, “Please stay after class.”
Aelita nodded as she picked up her paper Jeremie saw her cringe. He knew it had to have been a bad grade. Then the teacher came to him.
He placed the paper facedown and said, “Mr. Belpois please stay after class.”
Confused Jeremie nodded and picked his paper up. He was surprised. It said 97 on it. Figuring there had to be another reason he put the paper in his bag and waited as the teacher began that day’s lesson.
At the end of class Jeremie stuck around. He watched as the last student left leaving him, the teacher, and his secret crush.
“Both of you please come here,” He said writing something down in a book.
Jeremie and Aelita rose from their seats and approached the desk. The teacher sat and wrote as they waited. He finally put his pen down and addressed the two.
“Ms. Hopper,” He said, “You have a D average in this class,” He said, “And as you know to be on a team requires a C average in all classes.”
“Yes I know,” She replied,
“Which is why I asked you here today Jeremie,” He said, “You are my best student so I would like for you to tutor Ms. Hopper.”
Jeremie darn near fell over.
“She needs to make at least an 85 on her next test in order to stay on the Gymnastics team.”
“I…I…I’ll do my best,” Jeremie responded,
“Good man now I will leave you two to make arrangements,” the teacher said leaving,
“Ok,” Aelita said, “What’s the plan?”
“Meet me in the library after your practice today,” He said writing a number down, “If you’re going to be late, or if something comes up let me know.”
“Ok.” Aelita said taking the number and grabbing her bag, “I’ll see you later.”
Jeremie nodded doing the same. The rest of the day passed fairly quickly. Jeremie went into the library and sat down. He opened a book and waited. The next thing he knew he heard a chair being drawn out. He put the book down and saw Aelita settling in the chair.
“Ok,” He said opening the book, “Let’s start with the basics.”
After several hours of studying Jeremie was amazed at how well Aelita knew Chemistry it was a simple fact that she sometimes got the definitions and what certain chemicals do backwards. So he told her of an exercise to help with that problem.
Aelita was really beginning to get the hang of it now. She was performing better than she ever had. Jeremie really broke down what the lesson had been over. She managed to complete her homework in record time for her, and she rarely had to check the book.
When they finished they noticed that it was late. Deciding to call it a day they gathered their things and left. Jeremie had called his mother earlier in the day and told him he was going to be tutoring and that he may be home late. Aelita had called her parents as well so they didn't have to worry.
Aelita was packed up and out the door before Jeremie was. He then started home as well.
As Aelita walked she heard the sounds of footsteps behind her. She glanced back and noted Jeremie was walking behind her. She was about to ask him why he was following her, but decided not to. When she got to her house she noted Jeremie turning onto her street. She ducked inside and watched from her bedroom window.
"Why is he following me?" She asked herself,
Then to her surprise he walked right past her house, and onto the lawn of the house right next door. Curiously she watched as he walked onto the porch and got what looked like a key out of his pocket and unlocked the door and went inside.
"He lives next door?" She asked herself. "How come I've never noticed?"
The next day Aelita waited at the end of her driveway when she saw Jeremie emerge from his house she approached him.
"Good morning?" She greeted,
"Morning," Jeremie said surprised to see her.
"Shall we go," She asked,
"Where," Jeremie asked dumbfounded,
"To school," She replied,
"Oh yeah," He answered, "Let's go."
"So how long have you lived next door to me," She asked hoping he'd be as surprised as she had been.
"Since before you moved in," Jeremie answered.
Aelita looked at him surprised. Then she faintly recalled the day she first arrived at the house. She had been five or six she remembered a kind looking lady next door, and behind her she faintly remembered seeing a shy little boy.
"Were you hiding behind your mom the day I arrived," She asked him curiously,
"Yeah," he said as he began to withdrawal back into his shell his shyness taking over.
"Why didn't you ever introduce yourself?" She asked, "We could have been friends."
Jeremie looked away before murmuring that they where going to be late, and walking ahead. That was when she realized that in all the years she had known him. She never saw him with anybody. He didn't travel in any circles to her knowledge. In fact he had no friends at all.
She got into a brisk run and caught up. She took in his attire. He was wearing a blue shirt that had a wolf howling at the moon, blue jeans and his sneakers.
She considered him a lone wolf for awhile, and maybe he is, but was it just because he was to shy to join a pack. When they got to the school Aelita found her friends and noted that at some point Jeremie had slipped away from her.
"Hey princess," Odd greeted when she walked up,
"Hi Odd," She greeted as she scanned the crowd.
"Who are you looking for?" Naomi asked,
"Jeremie," She answered earning surprised looks from her friends, "What?" She asked,
“You mean Belpois,” Ulrich asked,
“His name is Jeremie,” Aelita responded,
“He’s so,” Odd began,
“So what,” Aelita asked, “So quiet, so kept to himself.”
“Defending him are we,” Naomi asked a small smile beginning to appear on her face.
“He’s helping me in chemistry,” Aelita responded,
“That’s all,” Yumi asked,
“I found out last night that he’s lived right next door to me since I moved in,” Aelita explained,
“So what are you going to do,” Ulrich asked, “Ask him to move?”
“No,” She replied, “I was going to ask him to have lunch with us.”
“Alright,” Yumi responded grinning,
As she said that the bell rang and they all filed into the building and went to their first period class. As they got in Aelita noticed Jeremie sitting at his usual spot. She walked over and sat down beside him earning a curious look from the boy sitting beside her.
“Hey,” She said, “I was wondering if you’d like to join me and my friends for lunch.”
“Well I…uh…,” Jeremie began stumbling through his words.
“Meet me in front of the school,” She said getting close to him, “Say about noon.”
“Um ok,” Jeremie said sweat beginning to drip down his face.
“Great,” She said, “I’ll be waiting.”
At that point the teacher began the day’s lesson. Jeremie moved from class to class as the day continued to roll on through. When noon struck Jeremie wondered to the front of the school. He leaned against a wall when he saw Aelita waiting.
Sighing he walked over to her, “Hi,” He said.
“Right on time,” She said as she took his hand and lead him to a car in the parking lot. As she yanked him she didn’t notice the pink tint on his cheeks when she got to the vehicle she let go.
The others came around and Aelita went to make introductions, but Jeremie beat her to it.
“Odd, Ulrich, Yumi, and Naomi,” He said matching each of them with there name.
“Well since that’s out of the way,” Odd said, “Let’s go get some grub I’m hungry.”
“Odd you’re a real walking stomach,” Ulrich said,
“Well everyone in,” Yumi said as she unlocked the minivan she brought with her to school.
When they all filed in Jeremie tried to move to the very back but Aelita pulled him into the seat beside her and right behind Yumi while Odd and Naomi sat in the next row.
“So Jeremie,” Yumi began casually, “Aelita says you live right next door to her.”
Jeremie looked up and nodded before he seemed to withdraw further into himself and look out the window.
“Jeremie,” Aelita said rubbing his arm, “You can talk to us.”
“Well I um I,” he stuttered.
The others began to notice that Aelita may have been right. Maybe the only reason he kept to himself and never spoke to any one was just because he was to shy to open up.
When they got to the fast food joint they where going to Yumi and Naomi pulled Aelita off to the side so they could talk to her.
“You’re right,” Yumi said, “He’s a shy one.”
“He also kind of cute,” Naomi said slyly,
“You’ve got a boyfriend,” Aelita said darkly,
“Are you jealous?” Yumi began while Naomi smiled,
“No of course not,” Aelita said defensively,
“Oh really,” Yumi asked, “Then why does your face match your hair.”
Aelita gasped and covered her cheeks. Without a word she walked away from them and up to where the guys where. They where set to order when the girls joined them.
After lunch they returned to the school. Jeremie went to head off for his next class when he turned to the others.
“Thank you for lunch,” He said before running off.
“Don’t worry princess,” Odd said, “We’ll get through that shield of his.”
“Yeah,” Ulrich added with an evil grin, “Then you can ask him out.”
“Ulrich,” She yelled, “It’s not like that,” She said before she stormed off.
“She likes him,” Yumi said,
“Definitely,” Naomi said.
“So Ulrich Odd,” Yumi began, “You take him,” She stated, “Naomi and I will take her.”
“Right,” They all said, “Ready break.”
