Chapter 1

Akito? Akito

Yes? What is it Shigure?”

Oh there you are! I’ve been looking everywhere for you.”

What is it?”

Can you come with me?”

Fine.”

The sounds of Shigure’s and Akito’s footsteps could be heard running though the halls. A small giggle echoing through…

Akito gasped. “Shigure! It’s beautiful!”

I did this all for you….”

Her patio was covered in white and red Tsubaki petals; Akito’s favorite flower.

Shigure?”

Hm?”

Bend down.”

Shigure bent down to the little girl.

She planted a short and tiny kiss on his cheeks.

I love you…..”

The next day

Shigure…do you love me?”

Hm? Are you going around asking everyone that?”

I’m the one asking the questions. Do you love me?”

Shigure hesitated for a moment.

He walked off her patio and into the corner of her garden he plucked a single red Tsubaki flower.

He handed the flower to her.

I think of you more than anyone else.”

Akito stared up at him- an innocent and cute stare, one that would never be innocent again.

That’s the definite truth.”

He put the flower to her heart.

I love you Akito.”

That’s the definite truth…

The words flickered on Shigure’s computer screen, illuminating his study. The voice of the 5 year old Akito, sweet and innocent, could be heard bouncing off the walls of his study.

Shigure places his hand upon his peaceful face, his glasses barely hanging off the tip of his nose. He sighed inwardly to himself. He couldn’t believe how bored he was lately. A few weeks ago, he had finished his latest novel, if you could call it that. Most people called it a sleazy, yet provocative love story. He’d simply call it a fiction of his imagination. Well, anyways, after finishing his latest book, he had decided to take a break from work. He was simply exhausted lately and had no time to himself. Well, he decided to do something about that.

‘Lately, I’ve been thinking about everything I’ve wrote. Who could actually enjoy the crap on paper he wrote? It was all a bunch of messed up, unreal shit if you’d ask me, but I had no choice but to write such fiction to make money. I, personally, don’t believe in what I write. No, love was not that simple. It was not the crap everyone believed it to be. Love is much more complicated than that. But, who am I to talk?’ Shigure thought to himself, chuckling. ‘No, I am not one to talk. I can’t feel love, or so I am told to believe. My love is warped, possessive and destructive. For me, love is to break what I need, so that in return, I may fix it. One minute, I was ready to destroy the one I say to love, and the next, I was sleeping with her. It’s strange, the way our love works. How my personality loses its wrath when I am lost in that sexual moment with her. It’s not a simple love tale. No, it is so much more than that. Strange, warped, possessive, aggressive, and destructive love, if you could call it love. But, who really knows the true definition of love? Not even God could tell me the answer to all my sought out problems. Maybe we just want to see the other beg, to find the comfort and power we don’t seem to hold. Well, I don’t know. Why think about it, there is no actual answer. No, there never is.’

Shigure sighed a deep and tired sigh. He was tired of thinking about what would happen ten steps before the other, tired of the planning and thinking. Just…tired.

‘So, that’s why I started this book about Akito and I. To try to figure out what I thought I knew all along, to clear up all the misunderstandings that we went through. Maybe I was just trying to clear my sins, thinking that this book would give me all the answers. When everything fell apart, and when the things most precious to me were threatened to be taken away. I guess I really am a fool, thinking that what I did would be forgiven.’

Shigure stared at the words he had written, trying to figure out if it was worth it or not to continue. He guessed he would.

It was just another typical day in the Souma complex. The maids were running about, the garden was bustling with people, visitors of sort. The family member lounging around, and finally, the same dreaded room stayed the same, dark and morbid.

Yet, inside the room, something was changing; something so familiar, yet so strange. Akito was asleep as always, yet she was dreaming of something very new. Not to usual dreams of sadness and death, but a girl named Tohru Honda. To Akito, Tohru was an omen, a curse, bent on her unhappiness and destruction. Yet, the people she thought were hers were siding along side this Tohru Honda. To her, the name reeked of pure innocent, so much it disgusted her.

Now what and why Akito was dreaming about Tohru Honda and what she saw is totally unknown to me. I was simply Akito’s tool to use, to play and to throw away at care. Yet at that time, I refused to believe such a thing. She never really told me anything of value, but I enjoyed hearing what she said, although usually the same thing.

As I had always said, we were a match made in heaven, or in our case, hell…We complimented each other well, her abusive, possessive side, with my manipulative and destructive personality worked well for each other, right? Well, I guessed not, but I was bent on making it happen, on way or another. It didn’t matter what happened to the people involved, as long as I got what I needed and wanted. My life work was to ensure my needs and hers. Yes, everything was about her.

Akito could be defined in one word, a goddess.

Goddess – noun. Someone who held power and is worshiped or idealized, a woman of great beauty or grace.

Yes, she was my goddess, my everything…

Shigure stared at what he had written. He was debating whether or not to delete everything. This was just too private. He had never written anything so personal in his life. Somehow it scared him, knowing that someone might finally break his façade and see the real him. Something that even Hatori or Ayame didn’t know, but, he decided not to, and continued writing.

Now, about the dream. What it was about, I would never know, but what I do know, is that it would influence a major decision.

Later that day, I received a call from my editor, Mii-chan.

“Shigure, I need to talk to you about something important.”

“Hm? What is it Mii-chan?”

“It’s about your latest book it-”

“Ah! I know they loved it! They loved it right?” I said, putting on my fake façade.

“Well, not exactly. They-” Mii-chan said, getting cut off my Shigure once again.

“Oh, I’m hurt!” I said, pretending to be hurt.

“Shigure! I’m serious!” she said, pretending to cry.

“Alright, alright. What is it you want to say to me, my dear Mii-chan?”

“It’s about your latest book-”

“Yes? What about it?” I said interrupting her just for the pure fun of it.

“I’m trying to tell you! If you would just stop-”

“Ah, yes continue.”

“Shi-gur-e! Fine, you fans and the publisher thought you last story was shit!”

I, personally, was quite surprised at this sudden change of attitude, but I guess it all didn’t really matter.

“What? I’m hurt! What do you mean?” I said, pretending to be hurt, but in truth, I quite agreed with them.

“Well, people thought that the love stories were just too unreal. They felt as if it was so sweet it was sickening. Why don’t you try to write a love story somewhat more real for a change? Take experiences from your love life,” Micchan told me.

I chuckled at the irony. Wasn’t it funny that such a thing was asked of me? Someone who knew nothing about how to love someone could write nothing about how to love. Simple as that. Life was all a twisted game and you had to stay on top of it if you wanted to survive.

“Me? I don’t have a love life. That’s just simply unreal to me. Well, I must go now. Bye, Mii-chan!”

Click…

I sighed inwardly to myself. So, people were starting to see through my façade? Whether in writing or in real life, I was slipping from my goal. That was not acceptable to me; I had to strengthen my façade to achieve what I had worked for my entire life.

Just then, the phone had rung again. Curious at who would call me this time, I picked up. Not much to my surprise, Ayame had called. Picking up my fake mask, although futile, I answered the phone in my usual way.

“Hello?” I said, dragging on the ‘o’ sound.

“Shigure! How nice to talk to you, how have you been my good friend? Good I hope!” Ayame exclaimed.

“Ah, Ayame, I’ve been doing fine. What about you, my dear Aya-chan?” I silently laughed at my friend’s nickname.

“Simple delightful, my dear Shi-chan!”

“Yosh!” we joked, mocking our old ways.

“Ahem,” Ayame spoke once again. “As you know, the Chinese festivals are coming once again.

“Yes,” I replied, curious about why Ayame had brought up this dreadful subject. “…and?”

“Well, surprisingly, Akito has made a rather surprising decision this year. Quite frankly I-”

I cut him off, not caring what he thought, just wanting to know what Akito had decided.

“Yes? Continue.”

“Ah, ahem, well, Akito has informed that this year Tohru will be joining us, isn’t that exciting?”

Alarmed, I was about to say something when Ayame cut me off.

“Shigure, this is not good.”

-End Chapter-

Finally! Thank the lord I finally started to re-write this story. I felt that it had begun to haunt me and if I didn’t continue, I’d seriously be hated amongst the AkiiGure fandom. Haha, anyways, yes, this story is back online, although I must warn you guys of two things, 1. Major plot change. I totally forgot where the original story was going and I had lost my outline, so major plot change. 2. This story might not be updated as quickly as you’d guys like because I have other stories to attend to too, but do not worry, I will not abandon this story again! Also, I will be keeping the original first and second chapter in this story so people can see how much I improved from then to now. Please review and tell me what if you guys thought I improved or not. And, I am very pleased with how this chapter was re-written, very happy. Oh, and Akito’s dream about Tohru has something to do with her coming to the banquet if you didn’t catch that. Alright, thanks for reading and please review!
