Chapter one: Mitsukai

XAn Angel's Eye ViewX

The moonlight was brilliant that night, the night of the full moon. The diamond like water glittered brilliantly as I stood on the shore of a huge lake. A familiar sensation pressed against my feet as I looked down and saw my twin tailed companion smiling up at me with those brilliant royal blue eyes of his. I smiled back I as pushed back a piece of my hair and I looked out across the endless see of silver. I loved night time, It was the only time I ever got any peace, being a Jounnin and all. After those years traveling from village to village, I had learned a lot. But of course I had a title to live up to, and not just the title of being The Seal less Ninja, but also the title that my father left me and my long since passed on mother. The title of the Mitsukai. A soft sigh escaped my lips, I was exhausted as I stretched my arms out over my head and looked at the object in my hand. The smooth, cool surface of the steel, and the light feeling of the cloth against my skin caused a small smile to outbreak on my face as I traced the perfectly carved Konoha symbol that marked the steel plate. The village hidden in the leaves…I had not been back since the Chunnin exams, Almost 13 years ago. A frown then replaced the smile as I remembered all the memories I had left behind.

Ever since the attack of the Kyuubi, I was sent away by my mother and the Hokage to increase my abilities, so I could return to protect the village from the thing that I was most connected with. You see, The Kyuubi is a demon, and incase you didn't know he isn't the only one. Like my twin tailed wolf, Tetsuya, He is a demon also. My father had given him to me saying he was special and that he would always protect me. And amazingly he did, he grew to be my only friend and companion. Ever since my father left for that S-class mission with his team mates and one of the team abandoned all of the rules just to save his life but then killed himself, He changed, and yet, so did I. I changed because my father died not long after from a chronic illness called cystic fibrosis, but that wasn't the only reason I changed. The Shinobi that risked his life for my father was my hero, The white fang. I always knew him by Kumo, but that was really all I knew about him. I didn't learn until after I left Konoha that he had a son.

But I was no longer the bossy, overconfident young brat that I used to be. I grew up to be the 'Seal-less ninja', the only Shinobi to be able to perform Jutsu without having to perform hand seals. It was an ability passed through my family, the Mitsukai. My father was so proud when I finally learned that skill…

Flash Black

A familiar young girl, with black hair and ice blue weaved through her hair, with beautiful blue eyes stood by a lake, concentrating hard on something she was performing. She did a strange, swift move of her wrists and cried," Hakumei Shikon'Ken No Jutsu! Aisu Oomkami Technique!"Translation: Twilight Fang Blade, Ice wolf technique A blast of energy emitted from the young child as her eyes began to glow. A strange light formed over her as a apparition of sorts appeared in front of her in the form a large wolf. It almost looked surreal as the massive creature looked towards her, wandered around her in a circle and leapt back into her. The girl almost flew back from the impact but someone caught her. She looked up into the smiling face of an older man, he too had those strange blue eyes and the same hair that matched beautifully with the girls, besides the difference of his being frosted spike instead of her long flowing streaks.

The girl grinned excitedly at her father as he helped her up onto her feet. She stumbled a little from the use of chakra but she quickly recovered as she jumped into her father's arms giggling. The Shinobi spun the girl around in his arms despite the extreme heat his ANUBU uniform caused him. He laughed as he saw her face," I did >Okaan-san! I finally did it! Now I can be a great ninja like you!" The girl giggled again as her father stroked her hair, "You already are A great ninja, I am so proud of you Suri-chan."

She gave the headband a frustrated snort as she finished tying it over her forehead, "Finally! Even after all these years It still takes me forever to put this thing on…Oh well, C'mon Tetsuya, Let's go." The twin tailed wolf gave the Shinobi a nod as she picked up her small pack of things and adjusted the Jounnin uniform that wrinkled from the moisture that the surrounding mist gave. Suri gave the wrinkles a slight glare before giving up and leaping into the trees. She landed from branch to branch with ease, even if they were thin she still managed to quickly bypass each one with increasing speed, her companion not far behind. Even for being a Shinobi, the girl was extremely fast. She moved from tree to tree without spending more that a second of each branch. Her blue weaved locks blew carelessly behind her as she continued on her journey. 'I wonder If Kumo's son lives here…I wouldn't be so sure though. After all these years? I'm not sure I would even stay after what happened…'

The young women frowned even more as she went deeper into her thoughts, her companion matching her speed equally. She hardly realized that she had stopped until she looked up to see the huge gates of the hidden leaf village basking in all the glory of the moonlight. The Jounnin smiled as she approached the massive gates causing some of her multi-colored bangs to fall in front of her eyes. She walked up casually to the tightly closed gate and traced the marking of the Konoha leaf on the gate with her fingerless gloved hand. It had been so many years since she left, "I wonder if Tsunade-san is here. She did say she was going to be Hokage one day! Hehe, I bet she made it. She is one of the most talented medic-nins out there.'

The young women smiled at her silent thoughts as she leapt over the gate, Tetsuya right behind her. The guards at the gate probably saw the reflection of her forehead protector, that's why they didn't check her. She frowned at their carelessness as she stopped upon a roof top and leapt into the tower to find them all drunk and passed out on the floor except for one who was fast asleep. The Shinobi sighed, sweat dropped, then anime veined as she snarled:"YOU IDIOTS WAKE UP!" All three Jounnin snapped awake as they all looked around with a "Huh? Wha..Happened?" Suri glared at them, as she pointed to the window that overlooked the entrance," You morons got drunk and fell asleep! The gate has been left unguarded for probably longer than three hours!" This caused all three half hung-over Jounnin to look at each other with wide eyes as they instantly stood up. Surikaina sent another glare towards them as she put her hands on her bare hips((her Jounnin turtle neck only reaches a few inches above her belly button))."You idiots could have gotten Civilians killed! Leaving an opening like that could leave an opportunity for someone to sneak in and get killed! And you call yourselves Chunnin…I should report your Asses to the Hokage! Pathetic…" The Jounnin were all staring at each other as one whimpered, "But We're Jounnin…" Suri gaped at them, "Are you kidding me! Jounnin! That's even worse! Who is the Hokage and where do they live? I can't believe it! They must let anyone into the academy these days… "

The pathetic ninjas were now at her feet," Please don't report us! Tsunande-sama will make us Chunnin for sure!" Surikaina's eyebrow twitched in agitation as she kicked one of them in the chest, "Don't Touch me! Fine you whiney babies I won't report you, But next time I catch you losers slacking off I leave you tied to a tree for My wolf to play cat and mouse." Tetsuya Peaked around Suri's legs as he flashed the ninja a toothy grin showing off his oversized fangs causing the ninja to stare at each other and yelp, "We won't screw up!" one cried." We swear!" the second one cried but the third one was passed out on the floor. The Shinobi anime veined and kicked him and got a "OOOF! Oww…" In response. She smiled warmly as she went for the window, "Alright you slackers, I'm watching you !" She leapt out the window onto a neighboring rooftop before Tetsuya turned around and gave the trembling Jounnin a wink. They all went wide eyed and hid behind one another. Suri grinned at her companion as they took off again into the night from rooftop to rooftop. Her thoughts wandered to what the Jounnin had said, Suri smiled." Well Tsunade-san you old bat, looks like you finally made it to Hokage. Good job girl." Her voice was quiet and gentle as she spoke to the chilly night air.

Finally, after about 15 minutes, she reached a particular building, her eyes instantly went wide." I actually remembered where it was…I hope It's still mine…" The Shinobi went to a particular window and opened it with a key she pulled out of her Jounnin vest. She coughed after she stepped on the ground, dust flew up into the air. She heard her companion sneeze as she switched on the light which took a second to turn on.

Her ghostly blue eyes scanned the place with familiarity glinting in them. It was the same as she had left it 13 years ago, except everything was covered in dust and cobwebs, including all the boxes that contained the little amount of personal possessions she owned. Her companion wrinkled his nose at the dust as he made his way towards the bedroom. Surikaina looked around with a half disgusted, half awed expression on her face as she walked into the living room. She traced her finger over a small ring that was left behind from a wet cup. She sighed again as the young women remembered, all those lonely years she spent alone, training her abilities. It was just before the Chunnin exam that her sensei wished her luck and left before she could tell him thank you. She frowned as the familiar expression of no emotion was on her face again and she walked over her pack.

After almost three hours later the whole apartment was clean; new sheets on the bed, no more dust, and especially the dishes were clean. The Jounnin smiled triumphantly at her accomplishment as she wiped away the sweat that was under her forehead protector. Everything looked great except for the fact that all her possessions were still in boxes…Oh well. That would half to wait for another day. The Shinobi took of her Jounnin vest and gloves before collapsing upon her bed from exhaustion; her companion was already curled up at the end of the bed and snoring rather loudly for a wolf. She smiled into her pillow as she fell asleep, taking in the sent of the fresh new pillow case. She was fast asleep as soon as she closed her eyes; But her dreams wandered to memories long since forgotten.
