Whoo-hoo! Chap. 10!

Oh and I’ve changed Yetta’s breed to a Shiba Inu, and the pic of her is updated, so go see it!

Disclaimer-I do not own Balto or any of the characters you see in the movie.

On with the story

RECAP:

At he base of a cliff, there’s a small lump of fur in the shape of a dog. It stirs as a large, dog-like figure shadowed by snow comes up to it. The figure slowly hoists the dog onto its back and starts toward a nearby cave.

Balto: New Dog on the Block

Yetta’s POV

Nngg…my head..ow…..what..hapened? My eyelids feel like lead as I open them. At first all I see is dark and I inwardly panic, then everything clears and my eyes adjust to the dark. As I look around my eyes land on a figure……Ozzie? No, Ozzie’s smaller than that, come to thing of it, every one I know is smaller that that….except maybe Balto……..wait, that means this is-is a-

“A wolf.” The figure states flatly. I can tell its male by the tone, as I try to find my voice.

“Wh-why did you bring me here?” I manage to whisper.

“I found you nearly frozen to death out side, and took you here.” He answers as he steps closer to me. When he’s right in front of me, I can make out dark red brown fur with cream colored chest-fur, and grey green blue eyes.

“My name is Timber.”

“I’m Yetta,” I answered quietly. How was I going to get home…….where was home? I sighed; this was getting me even more depressed.

“Go look outside.” A voice called breaking me from my thoughts.

“Wha?”

“Just go look.” A slightly smiling Timber repeated. I snorted, “Fine.” What I saw took my breath away…

Normal POV

The fresh snow sparkled like little diamonds in the sun, not a flaw on it. As Yetta stood there gaping, Timber came up and looked out as well.

“It’s amazing...” Yetta trailed off. “Yes, it is,” Timber agreed.

Yetta realized something, “Where’s your pack?” Timber looked down at the snow, his eyes a mixture of grief and longing.

“…..I don’t know...” Yetta noticed his melancholy and smirked, she knew how to get rid of that. She crept up to him and-

“Tag, your it!” and she quickly darted away before turning around and giving a play bow. Timber seemed shocked at her childish antics before smirking and darting after her. Yetta squealed and shot off like a bullet, Timber on her heals.

Timber POV

She is quite fast, but I’m faster.

Yetta POV

Thank you Madi for agility training!

Normal POV

Yetta and Timber raced around the clearing laughing, shredding the once pristine snow. Poor, poor snow. Yetta let out an “oomph” as Timber tackled her to the ground. Yetta looked up at the smirking face of Timber and laughed before rolling over and shaking off, her blue collar rattling.

“You’re pretty fast, for a house pet.” Timber teasingly shot out. Yetta smirked, “All thanks to agility!”

“What’s that?” Timber questioned. Yetta sighed, muttering about how Nome lived such sheltered lives, “It’s basically an obstacle course, with jumps and stuff.”

“Oh.” “I was separated.”

“Wha?”

“My pack, I was separated from them; you asked where my pack was.”

“Oh, right.” An awkward silence fell upon them until, “So why don’t you try to find them?”

“…..I don’t know…” Timber sighed.

“Well, why don’t we start looking?”

“We?”

“Of course, you saved my life so I’m going to help you!”

“But what about your pack?”

“…my pack? Oh, you mean my owner! Well, I’m sort of…..in a bit of trouble right now, so they won’t want me back...”

“What kind of trouble?” Timber questioned.

“The humans think I did something I didn’t!”

“Humans can be quick to judge, and only believe what there eyes tell them...-.”

“You got that right,” Yetta interrupted. Timber cleared his throat in annoyance and finished, “Humans may make mistakes, but they are your family, and if you show them they were wrong, they will welcome you back with open arms.” Yetta sighed, Timber was right, no matter what, they would be a part of her and she would miss them all. Except Sugar, she added in her mind.

“Hey, Timber?”

“Yes, Yetta?”

“I can’t go with you after all, but I wish you the best of luck in finding your pack!” Timber smiled and answered, “Thank you, Yetta.”

Yetta turned towards the direction of Nome, before looking back to him with a wink, “Oh, and if your ever in the Nome area, look me up, I have some friends you’d like to meet!”

“Will do. Now get going!” He called out to her.

Yetta turned back to the direction of Nome, a fire of determination lit in her eyes. She heard a lone howl behind her, one that filled her with courage, before grinning and running towards Nome, her home (hey that rhymed!).

WOOHOO! I think that’s one of the longest chapters yet! And the design for Timber is not mine, it belongs to Balto 2. And if you want to see a picture go to my profile!

He's the one farthest to the left:D
