“Harada-san…” he whispered, his eyes half closed as he stared out towards the horizon, where the half-set sun were tinting the clouds in the beautiful reds, golds and pinks one would normally picture when thinking of a sunset, however, these were much more amazing.
“Yes?” she whispered back. She too was staring at the snowfall, sitting on the metal bench that had chips in its deep green paint. She blushed as she felt his hand enclose around hers, but relaxed once more and moved to his side. “Isn’t it beautiful?”
“Very.” And he turned to her, a blush apparent on his face, but said in a serious tone: “But nowhere as beautiful as you.”
She turned her head towards him, her short-cropped hair dancing around her face as she spun. She looked deep into his red eyes, sensing the utmost compassion that had willed him to say that. For, he was not one to be so forward, yet, at that moment, he seemed to want to risk it. “W…what did you say?”
He closed his other hand around hers, and looked deep into her eyes. “I said you were beautiful.” And he leaned in a pressed his lips gently on hers.
She tensed up slightly, her face blushing crimson. She felt him stiffen too, and he pulled back, with a slightly hurt expression on his face. She stared at him in disbelief, her heart pumping on overdrive.
“I’m sorry,” he said quickly, and turned away from her surprised face.
But, she brought out her tongue and used the tip to lick her lips slightly. She blinked several times, then brought her hand up and made him face her again. She got up so she was half-standing and leaned down to him, and then, kissed him fully on the lips.
He opened his eyes in surprise, and noticed that not only he was blushing, as he saw the bright flush across her face that rivaled his. He smiled against her lips and then wrapped his arms around her neck, before bringing her down so she was sitting on the bench once more, and then, he kissed her back.
And then the sun went down fully.
