A Demon's Instincts

Chapter 1 "Tale of Two Children"

Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto or any of the other characters. Masashi Kishimoto does. However, I do own Kuraiko.

Summary: It's the night of the Kyuubi attack and a young blonde woman is giving birth to twins. The first lives but the second is still born. Not long after the babies burial a demon implants its spirit inside of the child and resurects the body. Five years later, we see the children growing up acording to the people around them. (I am so not good with summaries)

Warning; Contains Yaoi boy/boy romance. If you dont like this, then please do not read.

Hello everyone. I have decided to rewrite my story. It needed it. There will be a few changes.

ONE: You will find out about Tsukiko's history.

TWO: Tsukiko is now Kuraiko. (meaning dark child) Because everyone here at college calls me Tsukiko...and...ya...My OC is not a version of me. So dont give me crap about it alright.

THREE: Everything will be more thouroughly explained.

That said lets move on. The Emerald Ingot is now my beta and he is awsome. You should all read his story "Cell Shift." It's an awsome story as well. .

That said lets begin the story.

Konohagakure. A small ninja village in Fire Country. They were a prosperous village, and the Hokage was their beloved leader. Now Yondaime, the fourth Hokage, was supposedly the most powerful ninja to emerge from the Village Hidden in the Leafs. Taught by one of the legendary Sannin, Jiraya the Toad Sage, Namikaze Minato became known as the “Yellow Flash” of Konoha by using a special technique of his own creation. However, we are not here to talk about the Yondaime. We are here to talk about two children. Yes children. One was made a legacy, the blonde haired hyperactive number one knucklehead ninja. The other, a girl, a sister. Raised by evil, surrounded by evil, she became evil. These twins are the main focus of the story. How they came to be, and how they were reunited.
It all starts on the night the Kyuubi no Kitsune attacked the Village Hidden in the Leafs. The monstrous fox lashed out, destroying mountains and forests with just a simple flick of one of his nine tails. Countless shinobi fought the beast and fell, all hope seemed lost.

At the same time, a young blonde woman was giving birth to twins. It was a difficult birth. Not only was she bearing twins, but her birth was supposed to be C-section. Unfortunately, due to the Kyuubi’s attack, all the medic nin were on the front lines, assisting fallen ninja. A mid wife was helping the poor woman, but there was only so much that could be done. The blonde woman wasn’t doing well. Her heart rate was well above what was normal and her flesh was as pale as a fresh winter’s snow. “Push… come on, push… almost there…come one, one more push…” the gentle voice of the sixteen year old was less than adequate, but it was all the poor mother had. With a deafening scream, the first of the children was born.

A boy. A baby boy with blonde hair and bright blue eyes smiled up at the mid wife. She carefully cleaned the baby. Gently wrapping the now clean child, she carefully placed the boy in a crib. The mother smiled. Her son was beautiful, she couldn’t have been happier. A family, she finally had a family. Tears of pure joy fell down her pale cheeks, her life slowly draining from her. “Come on, girl. One more to go… come on…” With another incredible scream, the second child was born. A girl. This little one looked the same as her brother, blonde hair and blue eyes. But some thing was wrong. She wasn’t breathing or moving. This child was still born. Again, the midwife cleaned the child, and lay the child down next to her brother, the mid wife turned her focus on the young blonde woman. She was fading fast. The strain of giving birth was too much and her body was shutting down.

“Hurry, hold it off till the Hokage gets here.” Shouted a shinobi before the Kyuubi impaled him on one of its gigantic claws. “You fools think a mere mortal can kill me? How pathetic!” The fox laughed a sinister laugh and lashed out once again with its many tails. “Just try and hurt me. I’ll smash every one of you pathetic humans.” Kyuubi was having the time of his life watching the humans try to defend their worthless little village. It amused him to no end.

Lightning ripped the sky in two, illuminating the area. There he was. The Yondaime, standing on the head of an enormous toad. Gamabunta opened his giant mouth and let fly a water bullet. The attack hit Kyuubi catching him unawares. “Well Kyuubi, it seems you sure have made a mess of things.” Came the thundering voice of the Toad King. “Gamabunta, what an unpleasant surprise. I thought you were rotting six feet under by now.” Kyuubi’s voice was full of sarcasm and hatred. He hated the rotten Toad King. “NOW GAMABUNTA.” Shouted the Yondaime as the demon charged them. Gamabunta jumped and flew high into the air launching several water bullets at the fox. But the demon dodged every one and launched himself into the air as well. Stretching out a leg, the Kyuubi clawed the giant toad, sending him hurtling into the ground. “You’re losing your touch, Old Man.” Landing not far away, the fox demon charged again.

“Gamabunta, it’s time.” The giant toad nodded and jumped far back. The Yondaime began to do a series of complicated hand seals. “It’s time to end this Kyuubi. Hakke no Fuuin Shiki.” A light shot from to the Kyuubi, mixing his soul and his flesh. The jutsu was well at work. It began to swirl, seeming to collapse in on itself over and over again. “Hear me Kyuubi. I may not be able to kill you, but as punishment for your deeds, you will reside in a human for all eternity. Sealed away with no physical body or means of escape.” Yondaime was pouring everything he had into the seal. If this didn’t work, then the village would surely perish. The red cloud veered to the south and headed for the hospital. “This child is my legacy. May he be seen as a hero, for he holds the Kyuubi inside him. He keeps the fox contained so no harm will come to the village.” Uttering his final words, the fourth Hokage completed the jutsu and collapsed on Gamabunta’s head. It was finished.

Tears were falling down her face. The blonde woman knew she was dying. How could this have happened? She was so careful during her pregnancy, and to top it all off, her second child was born dead. “P-please. Let me hold my son. L-l-let me hold him, b-before I leave this world.” The midwife gladly gave the woman her only living child, tears falling down her face as well.
“Hey there son.” The child smiled at his mother and gave a happy giggle playing with his mother’s soft hair. “I’m your mommy, and you’re my baby boy.” A choked sob escaped the woman’s lips. “Naruto. That is your name. Naruto Uzumaki. Grow big and strong, like your father, and always remember…Mommy…loves…y-you.” Her head fell limp to one side, a smile etched onto her face.
Taking the child from limp arms, the midwife held back sobs. She hated this part of her job. Setting baby Naruto down in a crib, separate from his dead sister, the midwife proceeded to close the woman’s eyes and cover her in a white blanket. What happened next scared the living shit out of the midwife.
A sinister red light shot through the ceiling. It hit the baby Naruto, swirling into his stomach. The mid wife was terrified. What was this evil chakra forcing itself into the babe’s stomach? After a while, the light became so intense that she shielded her eyes.
The only thing that told her it was over was a loud cry coming from the baby, a giant seal on his small stomach. “Naruto Uzumaki.” An awkward silence filled the room as baby Naruto fell asleep.

The funeral took place the following day. A glorious ceremony for the death of the greatest shinobi in Konoha. But the poor little girl and her dead mother, with no family plot or land, were laid in the woods. The only attendee being the Midwife, the blonde woman’s best friend. “Sleep well, you two. May the gods have mercy on your souls.” She laid a single carnation on the freshly dug graves, then turned with tears in her eyes towards the village.

Three days later

A lone misty figure slowly wandered through the woods. Anything it touched became icy cold. The Ookami was searching for something, or rather, someone who needed life. The wolf was a bodiless life force. He had fallen ill, with his final breath forced his own life force out of his earthly body, and began his search for a new one. He was ashamed to admit that he was half dead. Seriously, what the hell could kill a fucking demon? Apparently, illness could. the wolf let out an annoyed short.

He had been wandering for weeks before he came upon a small village in Fire Country. Floating just outside of the village, he spotted two freshly dug graves. Moving above them, he could sense something calling him to the smaller one. Asking him, no, begging him, to help it. Like it didn’t want to die, or continue being dead. Ookami couldn’t explain it, but he felt drawn to the young body just beneath the soil.

A twig snapping near by forced the wolf out of his daze. It wasn’t safe for an uncontained demon to be wandering around as pure life force. So he placed himself into the child’s body. Ninja appeared where the spirit had just been. They were following an unreadable chakra signature, and it stopped here. One ninja, by the looks of him he was the leader, knelt down and tested the soil. Still fresh. “Dig.” He commanded, and so the two others with him began to dig.

“Sir, all we found was a dead child.” One said almost sadly, and held the babe up for her leader to see. The child opened its eyes and let out a growl that would make any (1)Lycan proud. The woman dropped the child a let out a loud frightened squeak. “The Otokage could use someone like you.” The leader said with a smirk, picking the child up by her arm. “It would seem that you have a demon inside of you.” He laughed and beckoned the others in his team to follow. With that, they all three left in the direction of a small unknown ninja village. “Orochimaru-sama will be pleased.”

Five years had passed, and Naruto Uzumaki was growing up. But the village wasn’t as kind to him as they should have been. The poor boy didn’t know why everyone hated him. He was much to young to understand. But one thing he did know, was that Iruka (2)nii-chan was always there to play with him. Naruto loved his nii-chan more than anyone in the world.
Today was a special day. Iruka explained it to Naruto many times. Something about a ninja exam and a birthday. Naruto, being five, only understood the word birthday. Now, the blonde was bouncing down the path to Iruka’s house, carrying a small paper card. He knew it was Iruka nii-san sixteenth birthday, and couldn’t wait to give him the card.
It took about ten minutes for the five year old to reach the brunettes house. Knocking lightly the blonde waited eagerly. His eyes lit up when the door opened. But to his disappointment, it wasn’t Iruka nii-chan. Instead and silver haired man with a mask covering his face and his hitai ate covering his left eye. “Koibito! The brat’s here.” The silver haired man yelled and got a frying pan thrown at him.
“Be nice to Naruto-kun. He never did anything to you.” Iruka growled at the masked man. Kakashi just smirked at his boyfriend. In all of his eighteen years of life, he had never seen a more motherly man.
“What’s that you’ve got there Naruto-kun?” The brunette asked with a smile on his scarred face. A small blush crept up Naruto’s face as he handed the card to his nii-san. “Aww, Naruto-kun. I love it.” Naruto blushed and mumbled a quiet “Happy Birth day Iruka nii-san.” The card was small, and had glitter covering it. The spelling was horrible, only because no one would help him with it, but Iruka loved it anyway. He immediately put it on the fridge, with a big smile and invited Naruto to have tea with him and Kakashi.
With an excited squeak, the blonde bounced over to the small table in the apartment. Kakashi was the one person Naruto was most annoyed by. It never used to be like that. But, after Iruka went to the store one day to buy food for the evening and left him alone with Kakashi, Naruto had almost hated the man. He was so annoying, acting so cool, just because he was a prodigy. Naruto didn’t even know what that word meant, but it annoyed the crap out of him. He became still and glared at the silver haired man who just sat next to him.

Somewhere in Otogakure, a small girl only five years old, walked through the streets and evil smirk plastered on her face. There where five ninja behind her, her teachers. They taught the little demon everything she knew. She was pure destruction, and they couldn’t be any more proud of her than they were now.
Their arms were full of scrolls and various artifacts. They had just destroyed a village. Or rather, their little weapon-of-mass destruction did. She seemed powerful, but in reality, it was the demon inside her. She was only just starting to come to human conscious, after five years.
Orochimaru had declared her his daughter. This little girl was precious to him, and oddly enough, brought out some creepy paternal instinct in him. “Kuraiko-sama? Are you sure you don’t need a rest? I mean after an attack like that, you must be tired. I’ll carry you if you please?” Her eldest teacher spoke carefully. The child’s temper was legendary.
Big cerulean blue eyes turned upward towards her sensei, and her vicious smirk faded. “I’m fine. Thank you sensei.” Her mood had switched, which was no longer surprising to her mentors. Her kindness came from her human consciousness, and was a relief to everyone around her. They could finally relax a bit.
They had finally reached the Otokage manor. Knocking three times the eldest sensei stated his name and team number. The enormous wooden doors swung wide open to admit them. Otokage Manor was huge, and as they walked down the hallway, they could see various traditional artworks hung high on the walls. Once they reached a single black door, Kuraiko knocked twice then entered. Her father sat behind his desk fuming angrily over the mountain of paper work that had accumulated on his desk. The girl cleared her throat and brushed her blonde hair out of the way.
Orochimaru looked up, anger blazing in his eyes, but that quickly faded once he saw his daughter standing before him. “Otou-san. The mission was successful.” An adorable smile crept onto her face as she acknowledged the five ninja behind her. They all nodded in response to her words.
The sannin smiled. He loved his daughter, she was the only thing he treasured. He took pride in her abilities and made sure to give her the best training he could offer when he couldn’t train her himself. It was completely out of character for the Great Orochimaru, future destroyer of Konohagakure. If all went as planned, she would play a key role in destroying the blasted Leaf Village. He just had to wait until she turned thirteen.
“Well done, my little serpent,” was all he said. Taking this a dismissal all six of them left. After closing the door Kabuto escorted Kuraiko to her room. “Is there anything I can get you Kuraiko-sama?” The white haired boy asked. He was only a few years older than the blonde but he was indeed a skilled medical ninja, he hated serving this little brat.
“I’m fine Kabuto, thanks.” With that she shut the door leaving the boy to his anger. Kuraiko laughed, she loved teasing the teen. She may be only five but she was competent, and very aware of what was going on in the world. Her mind development was way above average because of the demon inside her. The Ookami, or wolf, was the only thing keeping her alive.
Ever since she started to gain human consciousness, the Ookami started to slowly let her control her own body. She loved the feel of being in control, and soon she wouldn’t have to listen to her father anymore. The young blonde would find a new home among more powerful ninja than the idiots who raised her and the idiot who placed a curse seal on her. Slowly Kuraiko raised her small hand to her neck. That idiot she called father would be sorry he put that mark on her. She had to leave.

Well tell me how it was. Personally I think it's better than the original. My writing has improved a lot, and I dont mean to brag...BUT I LOVE IT.

Ya I dont have much to say here. Im sort of mad at my mother right now. And the stupid State Farm Insurance. They are morons...the ones that look at my car are anyway.

But ya...read and review...and tell me what you think.
