Chapter Twenty-Four: The Power Plant Problem
"Hey Brock what is this town called again?" Misty asked.
"It says that this is Gringy City." Brock said.
"There is supposed to be a huge Power Plant here but I don't see it." AJ said.
"Pikaaaaaachuuuu." Pikachu sneezed and sparks were coming from his cheeks.
"Pikachu are you okay?" Ash asked his Pika Pal.
"Pika-chu"(I don't feel so good). Pikachu said. Pikachu collapsed and Ash caught Pikachu but was shocked in the process.
"Are you okay Ash?" Misty asked in a worried tone.
"I'm fine but Pikachu is sick we need to get him to a Pokemon Center right away." Ash said.
"We need to find one first." Misty said as she kissed Ash on the cheek.
"I know I know." Ash said.
"Hey Ash there's the Pokemon Center." Sabrina said.
At the Pokemon Center...
"Why is it so dark?" Erika asked.
"I don't know we need to find out." Christy said.
"Yeah." Nash said.
"Let's go then." AJ said.
Everyone rushed into the Pokemon center and Ash gave Pikachu to Nurse Joy.
"Why did you hand me your Pikachu young man?" Nurse Joy asked.
"Something is really wrong with Pikachu could you tell me what it is?" Ash said.
"It's just a cold when Electric animal Pokemon are Magnetized just like Pikachu is Sparks come from the cheeks of that particular pokemon." Nurse Joy said.
As usual the Villains were spying on our Heroes again...
"Jessie, Cassidy did you hear that?" James and Butch asked.
"What?" Cassidy and Jessie said.
"The twerps Pikachu is magnetized." John said.
"Magnetized does that mean what I think it means?" Josh aked. Janelle and Jenny whacked John and Josh.
"Of course it does." Jenny and Janelle said.
"We can use our Gyarados Sub's Magnet to capture da twerp's Electrical rat." Meowth said.
Back with our Heroes at the Pokemon Center...
"If you leave Pikachu here overnight I'm sure that he will be fine in the morning." Nurse Joy said as she took Pikachu from Ash's arms.
The crew noticed that the intensive care room was just about in complete darkness.
"These Pokemon are going to die if we don't get the power back on soon all of you must go to the Power Plant and see what the problem is." Nurse Joy said.
"Anything for sick Pokemon." Ash said.
"Come on Gang let's go." Misty said.
"Pikachu you stay here and get better we'll be back after the power is turned back on." Ash said as he and the gang left for the Power Plant.
"Hey Brock where is the Power Plant?" Ash asked.
"I could be wrong but I think it is the building with the two huge smokestacks." Brock said.
"You're right Brock it is the Power Plant." Ash said as he read a sign saying "Gringy City Power Plant."
The power plant was dark also.
Ash and company then heard a rustling in the bushes.
"Ash what's that?" Misty asked as she grabbed on to Ash.
"I don't know okay what ever you are come out." Ash said.
"Pika Pi." Pikachu said as it came outof the bushes.
"Pikachu you're supposed to be back at the center with Nurse Joy." Ash said.
"Pika chu Pika Pi." Pikachu said while shaking his head no.
"Don't you see Ash pikachu was afraid we would leave him so he followed us." Misty said.
"Oh do you want to come with us little buddy?" Ash asked.
"Pika Chu Pi"(sure do Ash)Pikachu said as he jumped into Ash's arms shocking them and since Misty was hanging on to Ash she got shocked too.
"Okay Pikachu just take it easy please." Ash said.
"Pika." Pikachu said while nodding.
At the Power Plant...
"Let's go see what the deal with this Power Plant is." Sabrina requested.
"Okay." everyone said. As they wlked down the hall way Misty heard something from behind her.
"Something is following us." Misty said quivering as she grabbed on to Ash.
Ash looked behind them.
"There is nothing there Misty you must be imagining things." Ash said.
"I know I heard something." Misty said as she frowned.
"It's okay if your Chicken Misty everyopne else can handle this." Ash said as he turned around. "OKAY WHATEVER YOU ARE YOU CAN COME ON OUT!" Ash exclaimed. "if you're a ghost or a monster just stay whare you are." Ash finished quivering.
"AND YOU CALLED ME CHICKEN!" Misty frowned .
Out of the darkness came a voice. "Mag-ne-mite." the voice said. Right after it came out Ash pulled out his Pokedex "Magnemite the Magnet Pokemon it's nature of moving around without feet are really Mysterious." The pokedex said.
"Alright I'll catch it." Ash said.
"Wait a minute Ash it doesn't look like it wants to battle." Misty said.
The Magnemite started circling Pikachu.
"Pikachuu Pika Pikachu?"(why is it circling me?) Pikachu asked.
"It seems to like Pikachu." Brock said.
"But Pikachu doesn't like it." Ash said.
"Hey look it's blushing." Sabrina said.
"It must be in Love." Erika said.
"But how can an inorganic Pokemon like Magnemite fall in love with an electric Mouse like Pikachu?" Nash asked.
"Pikachu is magnetized so Magnemite thinks that Pikachu is another Magnemite." Christy said.
The Magnemite then floated away and a horrific smell was in the air and everyone held their noses.
"It is a bunch of Grimer." Brock said.
"A Grimer." Ash said as he pulled out his Pokedex.
"Grimer a Sludge Pokemon it multiplies in pools of sludge in Lakes rivers and ponds." The Pokedex said.
"The smell is getting worse." Misty said as a bigger Grimer showed up behind the others.
"What's that?" Nash asked. "Grimer's Grandpa?" Christy asked.
"Grimer no that's a Muk." Brock said.
"A Muk Huh?" Ash said as he flipped open his Pokedex again.
"Muk A Sludge Pokemon the evolved form of Grimer." The Pokedex said.
"LET'S GET OUT OF HERE!" everyone exclaimed as they ran down the hall toward the main control room.
"What are you kids doing here?" The Power Plant Workers asked.
"We need you to turn on the Power so the Pokemon at the center don't die." Brock said.
"We can't there are so many Grimer that they are blocking the intake valves that need to be clear to turn on the turbines in order to provide power." the workers said.
"How are we supposed to do that?" Ash asked.
"You eight are Pokemon Trainers right?" plant Worker one asked.
"What do you expect us to do Pikachu is sick." Ash said.
"Pika pika-chu." Pikachu said.
"You want to battle Pikachu?" Ash asked.
"Pika!" Pikachu said as he nodded.
"Okay take it easy Pikachu use a Thunderbolt attack." Ash said.
Pikachu let loose a Thunderbolt attack(a bunch of Magnemite helped out too)and sent all but one of the Grimer flying.
"There is still one left." Nash said.
"It's an adult Muk." Brock said.
"Poke-Ball go." Ash said as he threw a Pokeball and captured the Muk.
Everyone was still holding their noses.
"Why is everyone like that what's wrong?" Ash asked.
"It stinks." Misty said.
"The smell comes through the Pokeball." Ash said while holding his Pokeball away from his nose. everyone laughed. "If it weren't for Magnemite and Pikachu, the Power would still be out." Ash said.
"I thank you kids for saving the Pokemon at the Pokemon Center and saving the Power Plant." Worker one said.
"We all owe a big thank you to Magnemite don't we?" Ash asked.
"You're right Ash we do." Misty said as she kissed him.
"Pika." Pikachu said as it waved a Thank You wave to Magnemite. Magnemite just turned its back on Pikachu.
"Hey what's with Magnemite just a few minutes ago it could not stay away from Pikachu." Misty said.
"Could Magnemite have fallen in Love with Pikachu because it was Magnetized?" Plant Worker One said.
"When Electric Rodent Pokemon have sparks flying from its cheeks it becomes magnetized and it appears to have a cold." Plant worker #2 said.
"Now that Pikachu is not magnetized Magnemite has lost interest in Pikachu." Brock said.
"So Pokemon fall in and out of love just like people do." Ash said.
You know who again!
Then the Team Rocket theme starts to play.
"What are youse guys doing?" Meowth asked.
"Tell him James." Jessie said.
"Now that Pikachu is magnetized our giant Electromagnet will snatch that Pikachu right out from that twerps feet." James said.
"That twerp will be crying into his scrawny girlfriend's arms." Cassidy said.
"I don't think you should have called the twerps girlfriend scrawny Cassidy." Butch said.
"Why not she can't hear us we're in this sub and she is on land." Cassidy said.
"Good Point." Butch said.
"Hurry up and let's snatch that Pikachu." John said.
"Yeah come on lets show them what we can do." Jenny said.
"Precisely." Josh said.
"You better believe it." Janelle said.
"Who youse guys talking to?" Meowth asked.
"It is none of your business you mangy fleabag!" Team Rocket yelled at Meowth while hitting him over the head with eight mallets knocking him out.
"Cassidy turn on the magnet." Jessie ordered.
"Yes Ma'am Jessie Ma'am." Cassidy said as she saluted Jessie.
But what they heard was not Pikachu it sounded more like steel clanging to a magnet it certainly wasn't a Pikachu.
"That doesn't sound like Pikachu." Jessie, Cassidy, Janelle, and Jenny said in a panic.
"Whatever it was it is electrocuting us which means..." James, Butch, Josh and John said.
"TEAM ROCKET IS BLASTING OFF AGAIN!" The human members of Team Rocket said. "Meowth Dat's right!" Meowth said just as he woke up.
Back to our Heroes...
"What was that?" all eight of our heroes and the Power Plant workers asked in unison.
"I don't know but let's not worry about it." Ash and Misty said in unison as they along with the other six heroes walked to the Pokemon center each couple walking Hand-In-Hand and kissing ever so often.
Back outside the Pokemon Center...
"Thank you so much for saving the Pokemon at the center, the power plant, and the center itself." Nurse Joy said.
"All in a day's work." Ash said.
"All those Grimer and Muk here just proved how polluted the air and water are." Misty said.
"If you clean up the streets." Brock said.
"The air." AJ said.
"The Land." Erika said.
"And the water." Sabrina said.
"This place will be booming again." Nash said.
"And more of a tourist attraction than it ever was." Christy said.
"I am going to become a better nurse." Nurse Joy said.
"And all of you inspired it." Officer Jenny said.
"No problem." Everybody said.
"Come back and visit anytime." Nurse Joy said.
"You know we will." all our heroes said at the same time. As everyone waved goodbye to the Pokemon, Nurse Joy, Officer Jenny, and Gringy City they think of their upcoming adventures and the continuation of their journey to Fuchsia City.
Meanwhile back in Pallet Town...
"Hm what could it be in that Pokeball that Ash sent me I haven't gotten a Pokemon from him since he sent me Krabby." Professor Oak said.
"Muk Muk Muk Muk muk." Muk said as it gave Professor Oak a slimy hug.
"Oh no Ash sent me a Muk yuck." Professor Oak said.
When Muk heard that, it knocked Professor Oak to the ground.
In case you are all wondering where Ash caught Krabby, it was right before he and his friends arrived in Vermillion City.
