Onward with the story.
Chapter one.
The day before the cherry blossom festival. All the trees’ leaves where almost all pink and ready to fly into the wind. Liz sat indoors at her little blue table resting in the center of her newly renovated house. She finally was debt free after moving to the second branch of Arie Town. Liz had paid off all those bells to get out of the frightfully tiny house, and now was in her new house.
It was twice as big as the old one, had a nicely painted white roof, and a picture of a Dragon on the door. It also had a nice roomy basement. There was the Blue bed in the corner, the bookcase in the other corner, the dresser across from the bed by the door, the wardrobe next to the bookshelf, and the dresser next to the bed.
The little blue chairs sat neatly around the little blue table. On the dresser sat the small angelfish and the pretty diary Tortimir had given her. The blue carpeting and the Arched windows wallpaper matched the room perfectly. Liz sighed. “Well Angie, I think I should go out and say hi to them.” Liz got up and stretched. By them, she meant her three other human neighbors.
She stepped out of her once yellow, now white rooffed house, and walked over to check the bulletin board. She scanned the messages and found the newest one. “COME TO OUR WEDDING!” it read “Please join use to celebrate Josh and Breanne’s wedding, to be held in the Third Branch!”
“How can they be getting married?” Liz turned around and smiled at her neighbor. “They’re only eighteen!” Scott was about a foot taller then her own 5’6”. He had Short brown hair, blonde highlights and brown eyes. He had the face of a gentle, sweet, and caring person.
“G’d morning Scott, Liz…” A girl with short black hair, a side part and bangs that threatened to cover her right eye came out of what was once the red house. It was the biggest of the four, and Ashley only had the rest of her last debt to pay. Scott and Liz looked at their houses. His used to be the small house with the green roof. Now it was as big as Liz’s and had a deep blue roof.
Ashley was only a few inches taller then Liz. Just as she opened her mouth to ask Liz about anything worth reading, the shortest person strode out of the last house. The one across from Ashley’s. Elise, had oval glasses, and a hairstyle likes Ashley’s, except she had a more thinner face. “When’s the wedding?” she called out to the assembled three. “In a week!” Liz called back.
“There’s gonna be a wedding?” Ashley sputtered. She roughly pushed Scott out of the way and glared at the message. “Always knew they’d end up together.” She muttered. Standing straight. Scott glanced at his watch and looked at Ashley. “Why are you up? It’s eight o’clock! You normally sleep ‘til two!”
Ashley shrugged and glared at him. “Well when someone slams the door exiting their house, the noise kinda gets into everyone else’s houses.” Everyone turned to look at Liz. She smiled, “oops…”
“G’d Mornin’ all!” The four human’s turned around to see the mail… animal… thing…. “Hey mailman!” Liz said happily rushing over to him, “Anything for me?” “Why yes, Liz, he handed her three packages and a few letters. “And Scott… Ashley… Elise…” As he said their names he handed them their mail.
“Well gotta go! Lotsa mail to deliver!” with that he bounced up the path and aboard the train. Liz placed the packages at her feet, positive that they were the fossils she sent in. “that was speedy as always” Ashley said, her tone suggesting the mailman was… erm… touched. Liz opened her letters. The first was an update about Nook’s shop. “Hey, you all get the notice?” she asked.A chorus of a monotonous “Yes” sounded.
Then Elise held up an envelope stamped with the HRA emblem. She read off her letter. “ Elise, your house is spacious. We love the cordonation of the whites and reds in the wall and carpet. We award you 60,000 points. Hm… not bad.” Scott read his next. “Scott, your house is very roomy, the blue room and red furniture seemed a bit odd. We award you 50, 000 points.” Ashley read hers next, “Ashley. Your house is infested with cockroaches! We advise you kill them off if you ever want a good score. BUT WE LIVE TOGETHER! HOW CAN I KILL THEM?” “Shovel?” Scott recommended. A wide grin crept onto her face and she ran inside her house. Moments later, they all herd a Wump, and a twang of metal, and insane laughter. Liz cleared her throat. “Liz, your color coordination and style are good. You seem to like blue. We award you 65,500 points. Not bad at all. I think Nooky ‘ill like our scores.”
They continued opening their mail, when Liz found one from her best friend who lived in Branch 1. It said:
Dear Liz,
How are you? I’m fine, I went horseback riding the other day, it really cleared my senses. How is it in Branch 2? I haven’t seen you in so long! I defiantly need to go to Branch two and see what’s new there! Have you gotten a bigger house yet? You said you were going to one day…
Ok, I’m just gonna cut to the chase.
When I got back from horseback riding, I went over to see that chicken Rhonda, or what’s her face, and asked for a job. She said she didn’t have anything for me and told me to go away. So I killed her. Well, you know I get around blood, I snapped. So now, the whole town is massacred! I piled the bodies high, and burned the carcasses to the ground! You should have seen it! That was one HUGE fire. Well, anyway, I need a place to stay until the police have cleared out Branch 1, and I’m not a suspect anymore. I know you wouldn’t mind if I came to stay right?
By the time you’ve read this I’ll be on the train to Branch 2. I promise, I wont kill any of the citizens in Branch 2. I can’t put a black mark on your record.
Well, see you soon,
Ellen.
Liz sighed. This was the second time this year that Ellen needed to hide. She really had to stop mass-murdering people. Liz looked up from the letter and called out to her friends. “Everyone, Ellen’s coming to stay for a while!” Excited faces turned to her. “Ellen? Really?” “I haven’t seen her in the longest time!” “Ellen!”
Liz smiled at them, “we have to introduce her to everyone! I’ll go see if nook has a cot or something Ellen can sleep on.” “No need,” Ashley said, “Take this old bed.” She handed Liz the leaf of the compacted furniture and Liz smiled at her. “Thanks! I’m gonna go set this up!”
Liz entered her house and se the bed up next to the wardrobe, so the foot of each bed touched each other. The new bed was red; Ellen’s favorite color. Liz spent the day catching fish for the lunch and dinner her and Ellen were going to share. She then put them in the basement, so they’d stay alive until Ellen got there. Ellen would enjoy making the food.
Liz was just coming out her house when the train whistle sounded. The monkey opened the door, and out bounded Ellen. Her dark brown hair was darker then Liz’s and was about the same length. It fell down to about the middle of her back. Her blue-gray eyes almost matched Liz’s deep blue-green-gray eyes. They were about the same height.
“Ellen!” Ashley called running up the path, Elise and Scott close behind her. Ellen waved and smiled. Liz picked up her suitcase and looked at Ellen. “Ready to go?” Ellen nodded, and followed her down to her house. “Nice dragon.” Ellen commented as Liz opened the door. “Thanks,” she said, “Took me forever to make.” Liz tossed Ellen’s suitcase on red bed and flopped down on her own bed. “Welcome to my house! Now, tomorrow, we must wake up at six to catch breakfast, then at ten, we’re going to the cherry blossom festival.” Ellen grinned evilly.
“No Killing, or injuring any of the animals. Ellen, Don’t kill my fish either.” Ellen eyed the angelfish and shrugged. “It’s too small anyway.” Liz smiled. “Good, now go downstairs and kill two of the fishes for lunch.” Ellen’s eyes widened, then she smiled and strode coolly downstairs.
“Poor fish.” Liz sighed as she sat at the table and waited for Ellen to bring up lunch.
