CHAPTER 14

Bail Organa and Obi-Wan rushed forward to their fallen companions. Both slept soundlessly on the floor while the murderer got away.

It had been a diversion.

Obi-Wan felt so bad. He knew he should have been the one helping her. Her innocent face reminded him that she couldn’t possibly have done it.

She did not steal the chip nor did she commit that murder. Now, he was a hundred percent sure.

After about twenty minutes, they both woke up.

“Wh-Where’s the chip?” Was the first thing Jaina asked.

“Relax, we’ve got it. Come on, Padawan, let’s go home.” Obi-Wan said smiling warmly.

Jaina hesitated but followed him back to their quarters.

The next morning, Jaina was shocked to see that all kinds of officers, pilots and senators had come to apologize to her. Jaina knew that the murderer was the same person who had let out the synthetic disease and the one Brissian had mentioned.

Why hasn’t Obi-Wan apologized yet?

“You did it, Jaina!” Ziana squealed.

“I had loads of help from you.”

“Jaina, I’ve got to go. I’ll see you later!” Ziana turned to leave as Obi-Wan came in.

“Bye! Thanks for all your help!”

Jaina sat on the couch gathering the guts to ask what she wanted to.

“You called me ‘Padawan’ back in the basement. I heard you.” She said.

“That is if you want to be my padawan again. I’m sorry for everything.”

Finally! This feels so good! Jaina grinned.

“It should have been me helping you not Ziana. I was wrong.”

“I’m sorry could you speak up? I can’t hear you.”

“It’s not Jedi to brag.” He smiled.

“I’m not bragging. Just remembering what it feels like to be right.”

Obi-Wan took out something.

A lightsaber.

Her lightsaber.

“Jaina Knightrunner, I would be honored to take you back as my apprentice. If you’ll allow me.” Jaina reached and took the lightsaber.

“I accept again, Master Obi-Wan Kenobi.”

“I promise to always believe you. My trust in you will never die. Now,”Obi-Wan grinned “how about that velocity?”

Jaina smiled as knew her life was back to normal.

A/N: Hey, everyone! So terribly sorry that I took forever! But anyway, here it is! And since I owe you people, I already posted the first chapter of Around the Clock.

Only less than a month more and I'm leaving for Hong Kong! I'll still try to keep in touch! ClassicalBrunette, are you psychic or something? First, you predicted Obi-Wan's return in Lies and Deceit, and now you predicted Jaina's innocence! You are good! Anyway, look out for the next one, Guardians of the Peace XII: Around the Clock, where they actually use the TURN project and go back in time.
