April Fools, Mom and Dad. I’m Gay

Summary: Larry’s little April Fools joke is really the truth. My first War at Home fic.

Me: “Hi! It’s me. Sparklegirl Sassy. I’ve noticed that there isn’t exactly many War at Home fics here. So I decided to write one! And since it’s April Fools day today, I thought that this would be perfect!”

Moonflower: “Yup. I think this would be a good idea. And besides, everyone that’s ever seen one episode of that show that has Kenny in it would know that Larry and Kenny are so into each other. Whether Larry’s aware of it or not”

Fungurl: “Um... there’s not going to be anything inapropriate in this fic, is there?”

Me: “No, not really”

Fungurl: “Phew!” -.-

Me: “Well, Enjoy the fic!”

Larry walked into the kitchen and sat down beside his mom and dad. He was planning to play an April Fools joke on them. It served his dad right for last year pretending to be an axe murderer and chasing him around the house with a fake axe. The only thing was that this joke was really a secret confession.

“Mom, Dad...” Larry started, unaware that his friend Kenny had just walked in through the back door, “...I’m gay” Vicky just smiled and said “That’s okay dear. It was kind of obvious” Dave jumped and thought that he was about to burst a blood vessel. And Kenny thought that this was the perfect opertunity to ask Larry out.

“You are?” Kenny asked. Larry turned around and looked in shock to see his friend standing there.

“Uh...” Larry couldn’t find the words to tell Kenny that it was a joke.

“Will you go out with me?” Kenny asked. All of a sudden, all eyes in the room were on him and everyone was giving him an “Oh my freakin’ God” look.

“Uh... sure...” Larry answered. It might have been an April Fools joke but it was really the truth. And besides, he liked Kenny a lot more than as a friend.

“If I didn’t no any better, I’d swear today was April Fools day” said Dave, even more shocked by Larry’s answer.

“It is, Dad” said Larry.

“So you guys were pulling this joke?” Dave asked, praying the answer was yes.

“No, actually,” said Larry, “I made the joke about being gay. But the truth is, I really am gay. And Kenny just happened to show up at a very good time and it turns out that he’s in love with me, and I’m in love with him” then Larry and Kenny walked upstairs holding hands.

“Have fun making out!” Mike shouted. Everyone looked in the hall where Mike had been listening the whole time.

“Mike, how long have you been there?” Larry asked.

“Long enough to know that you and Kenny are both gay” said Mike.

Then Hillary ran into the room.

“Mom, Dad, Mike, Larry, Larry’s weird gay friend, I’m pregnant” said Hillary. And Dave just fainted.

“April Fools, you guys!” said Hillary.

Me: “Funny ending, huh?”

Moonflower: “Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go to the bathroom. That was way too funny”

Fungurl: “Larry and Kenny sittin’ in a tree! K-I-S-S-I-N-G! First-“

Me: (Shoves a shoe in her mouth) “Well, until next time!”
