Disclaimer: I love songfics you know it? Hehehe. Sorry I’m hyped and have a fever. Not a good combination. I hope you guys enjoy it. The song is She’s more and the lyrics belong to Andy Griggs.
When he’d first started working at CSI Eric Delko had never expected this. Never expected to fall so far in love with someone that you can’t be away from them for more than a couple of hours without going insane. Never expected that he’d want to wake up to one person every day for the rest of his life. He’d never thought he’d really want to settle down but the moment he saw her he knew that he wanted everything with her- a house, a family.
Okay so maybe he had lied a bit. It hadn’t been from the first time he’d seen her. He actually knew her for a good two months before even considering such a thing but then the thought popped into his head and two years later it hadn’t seemed to pop out.
I like blue eyes, hers are green
Not like the woman of my dreams,
And her hair's not quite as long as I had planned.
Five foot three isn't tall
She's not the girl I'd pictured at all.
In those paint by number
Fantasies I've had.
When you ask a male what he wants for a woman he always thinks of someone a man will look at and want her right away. Someone who’s tall, long legs, nice teeth and… well endowed. Had he ever known that the woman for him would come in a five foot three package we would have been asking her out on day one. Calleigh was far from your average girl. She may have been shorter but she didn’t lack in the intimidation department. That gorgeous blonde hair was something he was now addicted to and the Southern charm… he was determined Southern women were god’s gift to the world. Not to mention Calleigh could handle a gun like no other.
So it took me by complete surprise,
When my heart got lost in those deep green eyes.
She's not at all what I was lookin for, she's more
He’d always thought she was attractive but he never asked her out. His dates, if you could call them dates, usually saw him one night and he knew Calleigh deserved better. All the girls had deserved better but that didn’t stop Eric from being a form of a Miami playboy. She’d been so disappointed in him after the whole badge issue and that had hurt, truthfully hurt. He’d reevaluated everything and realized Calleigh was for him and there was no other girl who could do what she did to him.
No, it wasn't at first sight,
But the moment I looked twice.
I saw the women I was born to love.
Her laughter fills my soul,
When I hold her I don't wanna let go
When it comes to her, I can't get enough
This discovery had caused the Cuban to ask her out and they’d dated for seven months before Eric popped the question on her. She’d laughed, she’d cried and then she just hugged him until he asked if she’d let him go long enough to put the ring on. She’d playfully slapped him and he only smiled. He’d smiled into the next day and then tried to relax, his face hurt from all the smiling.
They’d been engaged three months and it was a lazy Sunday morning that they were both home. Eric plodded down the steps in a pair of pajama pants and paused, leaning against the door frame. Calleigh was cooking and he just stood watching her in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt before stepping forward to stand behind her. She paused, hearing his movement and took a deep breath as he gently brushed aside her hair to place a loving kiss on her neck. She turned to face him, smiling at his sleep ruffled hair before giving him a gentle kiss.
“Morning,” she whispered and he settled his hands on her hips.
“Morning fiancé,” he whispered in return and she saw him glance at her hand. He gently grasped it and kissed her palm before kissing the engagement ring. She allowed him to pull her in for a hug as she closed her eyes and so did he.
So it took me by complete surprise
when my heart got lost in those deep green eyes.
She's not at all what I was lookin for, she's more!
More than I dreamed of
More than any man deserves... I couldn't
ask for a more than a love like hers...
Eric Delko had been made a happy man by one Southern Belle. As they sat on the couch, sprawled together watching t.v. he thanked god that he was deserving enough to have a woman like Calleigh. There was no doubt that she was more than he deserved.
So it took me by complete surprise
When my heart got lost in those deep green eyes.
She's not at all what I was lookin for, she's more
