“Hermione?”
“Yes, Cedric?”
“What’s this?” he asked pointing to a round glass bottle filled with green liquid with a pearl colored plastic covering. The covering had openings in it shaped like squiggly wavy lines.
Hermione pulled her head out of the cardboard box full of kitchenware the movers had just set down. Rolling her eyes she relied, “it’s a Decosphere. Airwick.”
“What’s a Decosphere? What’s Airwick?”
“Turn it on and see,” she said, pulling the large box toward the cheery pale jade kitchen.
“How do I turn it on?”
Hermione peeked around the corner. “It’s on the side. There should be a black switch, flip it so it points to the side that says ON.”
Turning the ‘Airwick’ around, he found the switch and flipped it to on.
“Hermione?” he called.
“Yes?”
“It’s not doing anything.”
“Wait a few minutes Cedric,” Hermione huffed dragging a suitcase upstairs near the master bedroom.
Sitting on the floor in front of the coffee table, he proceeded to stare at the ‘Decosphere’.
After a few minutes he touched the round thing. It was warm! Shocked, he pulled his hand back.
“Hermione?”
“Yes, Cedric?” she answered, sounding slightly frustrated.
“It turned warm on me!”
“That’s what it’s supposed to do.”
“That’s all? If that’s all, I say, a warming charm is better than that ball you have there.”
“No, Cedric. Just wait a little longer.”
Turning his head back to the ball, he noticed it let a plume of white vapor in the air. He screamed in surprise and fell on his back; in the process he hit his head against the new couch. Suddenly the room smelt strangely of Jasmine with a hint of some fruit. Apples perhaps?
Hermione ran down the stairs and gazed at Cedric in confusion.
“Hermione! It sprayed something at me! And now everything smells like Jasmine and apples!”
She laughed at his troubled look. “That’s what it’s supposed to do Cedric. And it’s not Jasmine and apples, it’s Jasmine and kiwi.”
“How does it do that?”
“It’s something called automatic machinery and electricity.”
“What?”
“Never mind Cedric,” she chided, “come help me with the bathroom.”
Upon entering the bathroom, Cedric groaned. “Great, more Airwick balls.”
Smiling, Hermione handed him a huge box of bathroom accessories.
