Chapter 13

It has been 3 weeks since the Phoegons hatched. They have grown to be the size of baby Fireheart. Nick and Katie trained them well, the two Phoegons would listen very well to there owners.

“Hey Nick you want to go for a walk in” asked Katie

“Sure, and lets take the Phoegons” replied Nick.

“That sounds like a good idea” said Katie

The two Phoegons landed on their owners’ shoulders. Katie and Nick walked out of Rootcore and towards the lake. When they arrived they sat down and their Phoegons sat in their laps.

“It’s been pretty quiet these past 3 weeks.” Said Katie

“Yea it has, but you’ve been training very hard” said Nick with smile.

“I’m glad those spell cards work or me” said Kati as she laid her head on Nick shoulder.

Nick wrapped an arm around her shoulders and hugged her.

“Yea that is a good thing” said Nick

Just then their mophers went off.

“Spoke to soon” said Katie.

The two of them morphed and teleported, with their Phoegons, to the city. When they arrived they ran to the other rangers.

“Let me guess it’s Necrolai” said Katie

“Yep” said Xander

Standing on top of a building was Necrolai. She jumped down and landed a few yards away from the rangers.

“Hello Rangers, it’s been a while” said Necrolai.

She charged at Katie. Katie pulled out her magi staff and turned it into the bow and arrow mode. Katie aimed the bow and pulled back the string two arrows appeared and she fired. One missed but the other hit Necrolai in the shoulder. Necrolai pulled the arrow out and charged at Katie again. This time firing spells at her (Katie). Katie pulled out a spell card and turned her magi staff into the wand mode.

“Protect” she said

The spells were absorbed in to the shield. Katie hit the card again and the shield disappeared.

“You posses the spell cards” said Necrolai “I thought they were destroyed in the battle”

“They were not” said Daggeron

Necrolai charged at him Katie saw this and ran in front of Daggeron and Shot 3 arrows at her (while Katie was running she transphormed her magi staff). All three hit but barely fazed Necrolai, she still was charging.

“I’ll handle this” said Daggeron “Thank you”

Daggeron charged up his laser lamp and fired. Two out of the three shots hit.

“Kitten are you trying to read her mind” asked Nick in a low whisper.

“I’ve tried a few times, no luck” replied Katie in a whisper.” She must have learned about my powers.”

Katie turned and saw Daggeron still shooting at Necrolai.

“Daggeron let me fight Necrolai” said Katie telepathically.

Daggeron stepped back and let Katie fight. Katie readied her bow.

“Light arrows” said Katie

Two gold arrows appeared, Katie shot them and they both hit Necrolai, and caused a great amount of damage.

“Give up Necrolai” said Katie

“Never” replied Necrolai

“Fine then” said Katie

Necrolai’s claws came out and she took off into the sky.

“Mysto wingro” said Katie

Her dragon wings came out and she took off after Necrolai.

“You are very stubborn” said Necrolai

“You’re thinking of the red mystic aren’t you” said Katie with a laugh “sorry Nick”

Necrolai kicked Katie in the stomach, which knocked the wind out of her, but she recovered quickly. She kicked Necrolai too but in the shoulder. Necrolai punched with her claws out that hit Katie in the arm. Katie clutched her arm and winced in pain.

“You’re the one that should give up” aid Necrolai.

“Like you said, Never” said Katie as she shot an arrow at her (Necrolai).

The arrow hit their target, but didn’t do much damage. Just then Necrolai kick Katie in the back and that made her (Katie) fall, but her wings served as a parish shoot, but she still landed pretty hard on the ground, she powered down.

“KATIE” yelled Nick as her ran to her side.

He kneeled down next to Katie and picked her up.

“I tried Nick” said Katie weakly

“Shh” said Nick “You did great”

Just then Katie went limp.

“Katie, Katie, wake up” said Nick

She didn’t. Nick placed a hand on her neck looking for a pulse, none. He began to cry, his tears falling on Katie’s face. He other rangers walked over to see what happened. When they got there they knew. Nick sat there depression allover his face.

“Were is that witch I’ll kill her” yelled Nick.

“Nick calm down we saw Necrolai fall at the same speed as Katie.” Said Madison “€I’m sure she is gone too”

Nick looked down at Katie and kissed her cheek. She felt warm.

“N-nick” said Katie very weakly.

“Kitten you’re alive”

Katie nodded.

“But how” he asked

“Your tears are Phoenix tears Nick.” Said Daggeron

Katie placed a hand on Nick’s cheek and smiled.

“I love you Nick” said Katie

“I love you too Kitten” said Nick before he kissed her
