Nothing To Prove

Summary: Sequal to ''Nothing's As It Seems". Greg's starting to get better after the accident. Now he's working on getting his friend's, life and mind all together. Summary sucks, just read. Not Greg POV like the other.

Disclaimer: As I have so unhappily pointed out, CSI nor any of it's character's are mine. If I did, I wouldn't be here...I'd be in Eric Szmanda's beautiful house! Got it? Good.

Chapter 1:Scars

Nothing he could do would make him feel right. Nothing he did made him wanted as much as he needed to be. To him, everything was wrong and nothing could be changed.

It had been three weeks since him and Nick's "accident" and the more therapy and friendless days he went through, the worse he felt. It hadn't occured to him that he had been forgiven. His friends did love him. His friends wanted him to be normal again. They were tired of him mourning. They were tired of not seeing the excitement he had every day. Most of all, they were tired at looking at him and not seeing a smile. Not even a grin. They needed a change. Something.

"Hey Cath, have you seen Greg?" asked Nick as he pondered the break room.

The strawberry-blonde looked up at the tender Texan's face.

"No Nicky, I'm sorry. I might have, but he's not exactly noticable anymore."

"I know. That's why I need to talk to him. He's trying way too hard to avoid us."

"I noticed. Well, if you do see him, tell him Grissom's all over his ass and needs him like, right now."

Nick smiled and walked off as he stared at his feet. He probably wouldn't have noticed Greg if the younger CSI hadn't been wearing his new black and white checkered Vans he had gotten a couple a weeks ago. Nick looked up at the solid, emotionless figure.

"Hey man, I need to talk to you," Nick started.

As fast as he had locked eyes with Nick, he looked away. Once again Greg started trotting down the hallway. Who knows where. "I need to talk to you," Nick once again tried to say.

Greg didn't even look at the man. Starting to lose his patience, Nick grabbed Greg by the arm and pushed him into another room.

"What do you want?" asked Greg through gritted teeth.

"To find out what the hell is wrong with you. You look different. Act different. What's wrong with you?"

"What kind of question is that?"

Greg looked down at his low-class band tee and ripped jeans. He supposed his dress code had changed a little. He was getting ready to leave though. He quickly look passed Nick and saw a bug on the wall.

"A kind of question that needs to be answered."

Greg eyes followed the bug as it went in different directions. He figured if Grissom was here, it would be labeled and jarred. Or maybe just set out to be free, Though if Nick saw it, he'd probably kill it as soon as possible.

Nick glared at Greg. Greg hadn't noticed that Nick had been rambling on about something.

"Are you even listening to me?" Nick asked, alomst at the state of furious.

Greg snapped his head back to Nick.

"Yeah, I, uhm, I'm fine. Just kind of tired. This is my third shift, way too much overtime-"

"You've been acting like this fora long time. Greg, I need you to know, I'm not mad at you. I'm really not..."

Greg looked down at the tiled floor. He started counting them from around his feet. Once he lost his pattern, he decided to count the squares on his shoes. Once that got boring, he wondered what the bottom of his shoe looked like. Who knows what could be on it after a couple crime scenes. Blood, guts, skin fragments, or even gum. Before he could start thinking about his socks he felta hard slap upon his face. He look, immediately.

"What was that for!" yelled Greg.

"You're not even listening to me! I have important stuff to say and your not even in the same damn deminsion as me!"

Greg started swaying back and forth. Once his eyelids started flickering, Nick knew there was a problem. Before he knew it, Greg had collapsed into Nick's arms. He was knocked out.

A/N: So yeah, here's the first chapter. I tried writing it in Greg POV, but I couldnt show the other side of the gang's feelings that way. So please REVIEW!
