"Hermione, I have no idea what's wrong and Hagrid's not here to…help." Severus held out a depressed owl.

"Potions Master Severus Snape wants my help?"

He glared at me.

"It's quite clear what's wrong with her." I remarked as I waved owner and pet into my rooms.

"Really." He drawled.

I took the owl and held her close to me. "She's not used to her surroundings, to you. All she needs is some comfort."

He raised an eyebrow. "You keep her then."

"Alright… she needs rescuing from you."

"Right." And he left, nursing not his owl, but his bruised ego.
