Hello! Any D/V fans out there? Well, you might or might find what you’re looking for. I have never done Danny/Valerie romance before. Whether or not I actually decide to put it in this story or not, you D/S fans won’t be let down either.
Summary: An “accident” caused supposedly by Danny Phantom lands Valerie Gray in the hospitals with a new grudge—and suddenly…a hint of ectoplasmic energy now within her. Valerie’s in denial at first, but as things become clearer, she realizes that she’s turning into the very same thing that she so passionately hunts…Main Villains: Vlad Plasmius, Dan Phantom. Yes, it’s another Dan Phantom returns story. So sue me.
Okay, before anyone asks, yes I realize that I do have quite a few stories up online, most of which are completely unfinished. However, I am limiting myself now. I have a few more that I want to put out before the end of April when my schedule changes and I will not be creating any more stories. (Read my profile and you’ll see why) In fact, to make sure that I get a few more things done, I’m not going to create any new stories (THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE ANY PARTNERED PROJECTS) until July. 2 months without any new stories. Meaning I can get some updates finally done the way they should be.
So, for future reference; the only two stories left to create are: Our Truth and Whispered Lies.
The week of April 17—24, I will probably not be updating. This is because the deadline for the contest changed to the 24, meaning I have more time to make it better. I will probably be head over heels trying to get it done and I will probably not even work on fanfiction. I will try my hardest after that though and you’ll get some new updates ready to go for you the last of April.
Including these new updates: Grease Remix, A Cross Between Crimes, 04092105, Butterfly Wings, Extremities, Life Sucks And Then You Die, Virtuality, and Fired Up!
Disclaimer: Danny Phantom is owned by Butch Hartman and Nickelodeon Studios. “The Ghost Woman and The Hunter” is owned by Lacuna Coil.
The Ghost Woman And The Hunter
Staring at the sun…no rays down on me…
chapter one
Valerie stared at the clock once again, wishing that time would just speed up and her dad would get home from work soon. She was eager to test out her new…
Well, she hadn’t exactly told him what she’d wanted to do and not that he didn’t already know… But there had been recent ghost sighting near the center of the town and she was more than eager to check it out.
“Come on…” she pleaded to herself, pacing outside the door. They had lunch plans. And as soon as those lunch plans were over, she hoped her dad would let her go for a while. It was just to check things out.
Her dad? Still had problems with her ghost hunting. But that was the thing. He didn’t understand. Ghosts had ruined his life too. More than hers almost. He’d lost his job because of that no good little—
Headlights flashed in her eyes and she looked up to see his car pull into the driveway of the apartment complex they lived in. She jumped the balcony easily, landing catlike on her feet a few yards away from his car. She opened the door and got in.
“Sweetie, you know I don’t like you waiting outside alone around here,” Damon Gray lectured as soon as she sat down. Her father stared at her disapprovingly, a look that she hated to admit…but the look she’d gotten a lot lately.
“Sorry,” she said sincerely. “But hey, I’m okay, right?” She laughed nervously but he didn’t and she stopped, clearing her throat. “So, where are we off to?”
“I was thinking about lunch at the new Mexican restaurant they have here, how does that sound?” Damon put the car into reverse and backed it out of the parking lot.
“That sounds awesome. If I see one more Nasty Burger I’m going to snap,” she grumbled, rolling her eyes.
“How is that going?” he asked.
“Pretty good. I mean…I wasn’t late today or anything. I was actually on time, so I got in all five hours there.”
“That’s good sweetie,” he told her. “How is the other thing going?”
The other thing. He meant her ghost hunting. “It’s okay.”
“Have you been doing anything lately?”
“Not really…” Just trying to find that annoying son of a—
“Not really…As in, yes, or no?”
“Yes,” she said after a moment. “Just for the ghost kid though.” That was the truth at least.
Her dad didn’t say anything, putting his lips together tightly, his brow furrowed. She knew he was doing some deep thinking and she knew better than to interrupt him while doing so. After a few minutes, he finally spoke to her.
“Valerie…how have your grades been going?”
“Besides…Health and Science, pretty good,” she told him.
“Maybe you shouldn’t spend your time ghost hunting and study more?” he asked.
She was expecting this lecture. She hurried to think of something. There had to be some way to get out of this. She couldn’t just sit there and do nothing while ghosts like Danny Phantom ruined the lives of the ones she cared for and even the ones she didn’t, but the ones she worked to protect.
“It’s not that I don’t study,” she said. “It’s just…some of it is confusing and I don’t get it.” That was the truth.
“Why don’t you find someone to help you with that?” Damon wondered. “Like a tutor or something? What about your friend Danny? Isn’t he good at science?”
“Yeah…” Danny was definitely good at science. And it wasn’t like she wouldn’t mind having him help her…but spending time with her friend would only make her feel like she owed him something more than a broken heart. And being with him would only remind her of how much more she wanted than friendship.
But it wasn’t possible…
“Are you two not friends anymore?” her father asked, noticing her tone.
“Oh, we are,” she replied fast. “It’s just…difficult since we…broke up.”
“I understand,” he said after a moment.
“Do you?” she muttered. She almost gasped, hoping that she really hadn’t just said that aloud and sat up straight, glancing over at her dad.
“What’s wrong sweetie?” he asked.
Valerie breathed in relief. That was the last thing she wanted was for her and her dad to get into an argument over something stupid she’d said.
“Nothing,” she answered.
“What about that other girl than? The redhead,” he suggested.
You mean Danny’s sister? Valerie thought silently. Yeah…I would still be around him. “Jazz isn’t in my grade.”
“But she’s one of those honor roll students; bright girl, isn’t she?”
“Yeah--”
The car wrenched and suddenly flipped over and Valerie screamed in surprise, feeling herself being jerked around painfully as the car finally landed hard, bouncing in place. The windows stopped shattering and the tires stopped screeching. Silence filled the car.
She looked up, groaning, her head falling back onto the seat. Through blurred vision, she saw a faint outline of someone standing there, ahead of the car.
“Valerie!” shouted a voice.
For a second, she thought she recognized it and she tried sitting up, but it was difficult. Her whole body felt slightly paralyzed and numb. She managed to move her arm and the door collapsed onto the ground as she shoved it with her hand.
“Come to see the show Valerie?” asked a new voice.
She looked up, blinking several times and gasping as she fell onto the road, her body not supporting her weight.
“Let go of me! Valerie, run!”
“She can’t.” The second voice she didn’t recognize was deeper. She focused as hard as she could and finally saw a glimpse of two figures; one was smaller and wore a black jumpsuit. The other was definitely larger and wore a silver-white costume, a cape blowing behind him. Both of them had silver-white hair. “There’s nothing you can do to help her.”
There was a cry of pain and her vision spun again. Sighing, she pressed a hand to her head.
“You can’t kill me,” a struggling voice said. “You’ll die too.”
“See…that’s where you’re mistaken. You sent me out of time. Meaning…to you, I’m invincible. Even if I kill you now, I’ll still live. Because…I still exist.”
Valerie heard another cry and she looked up one last time to see a winged D and P formed together before everything went black.

Chapter Two:
“There’s a lot of things that I can do,” he said.
“So what do you really want then?” he asked, holding his side.
“I’m not here for you, but trust me, if you get in my way, it won’t be like that for long,” he said. “So I’d just suggest you stay back.”
“I’m not going to let you hurt anyone,” Danny said furiously, zooming in front of him.
“Here’s a question for you…How are you supposed to stop yourself from hurting the ones you love?”
