As Serena stared at the cold, red eyes, tears streamed down her face.

"Now... It's your time, Serena," the short man exclaimed. He sounded so mad, but little hints of care were heard in his voice.

It was Hiei who was seconds away from killing her.

She knew she deserved her fate, for she had done many things, all of which hurtful to the Rekai Tentai. 'You shall never know now, Yusuke... That's all I want, is for you to never know anyways...'

It felt like an eternity as Hiei ran at her, ready to pierce her heart with his katana. She knew it was only about five seconds though.

As the sword went through her heart, a gasp escaped her red lips. Hiei pushed the katana through until her back was pierced by the hilt.

The demon pulled his sword from through her a frowned. His whole sword was covered in her blackened blood. He knew where she wished to be buried, so he picked her bloody body up.

The demon ran until he reached the Lake of Death. He tossed in her body and watched as she slowly sunk in.

-Flashback-

It was a few minutes previous of the girls' fate. She was sitting against the tree's trunk as he sat in a branch a few above the girl.

"Hiei, I want you to kill me," the girl said.

Hiei's eyes widened.

"I'm not done yet, Hiei... I want you to kill me and my resting place is at the Lake of Death," she let her voice trail off, stood, and readied herself.

-End flashback-

The last thing Hiei heard Serena say was "I love you, Yusuke," but just barely.

Sequel info: Title: A Strangers' Life

Summary: Serena had dies almost a year ago. The Tentai all heard from Hiei what had happened. Naturally, since Yusuke liked her, he tried to strangle Hiei, forgetting his spiritual powers. But what happens when the group receives sightings of strange occurrences? And, what happens if the group recognizes them? (Not who you'd think it is) A lot more amusing then it sounds.

Rating: PG-13 I think
