‘Hey wait! Is there anything you want to tell me.’

‘Come on, Danny. Give.’

‘I didn’t go yet, all right.’

‘You know there’s a reason why they call it a mandatory pyscovalve, because it’s mandatory.’

‘What are you, my mother?’

‘No I’m not you’re mother, but a couple of weeks ago you were in a shooting of your own.’

‘All right I’m very aware of that.’

‘I’m just saying it’s not that bad. You go in, you say the right thing, and that’s that.’

‘I’m just looking out for you.’

All these thoughts kept running through his head. All the times he’d had with her. They started playing when he heard she was fired, now that the new girl’s there, they’re getting stronger.

He knew he should go and see her. See if she’s all right, if she’s happy.

But he can’t.

She left him all alone in the lab. He didn’t have anyone to talk to about his crazy family and listen to when she told him about hers.

Stella had told him that when she had first seen them together they were like Yin and Yang.

They did look like total opposites. Danny with his blonde hair and light blue eyes, and Aiden with her long dark locks, and brown orbs.

But Danny was closer to her then he was to anyone else. He talked with Mac and Stella, shared some things with them even.

He’d play ball and watch sports with Flack, as Aiden didn’t care much for sports.

But at the end of a hard day, he’d always end up on her doorstep. He didn’t even have to say anything. She would step back to make up the spare room for him and than they’d sit together on the couch, watching TV until they both fell asleep.

He can’t do that anymore.

With Aiden he was a Danny few people saw.

With everyone else he was the tough kid from Staten Island, and he kept up the mask, cursing it when it slipped down.

He kept up this charade.

And that’s what led to his breakdown.
