Sock- shakes off cobwebs from the story title Surprised? I'm not. It's been ages since I've dared to update Paint Me A Picture, but the little voice in my head reminded me of those loyal fans (whom I love to pieces, Honestly) who are counting on me-so here I am once again. At the begining of yet another one of the stories chapters. Surprisingly enough, this is actually an extremly LONG chapter-So I hope that substitutes for all the time I took to update! D

Disclaimer- Owning Danny Phantom is not something I can honestly say. Loving Danny Phantom on the other hand...

She stood there in shock. Completely surprised at the sight in front of her.

Her first instinct of course was to run and scream, but something inside her courageous body told her to go on. So listening to her inner voices (which in NO way makes you a mental case..)she moved cautiously to where the packs of meat lay. Presuming that no one would actually eat this...poor defenseless animal, she began dragging a trash can over to the edge of the counter. But before she could begin to slide the meat into the waste, the football player accusingly gasped as he grabbed the meat in his hand.

"What are you crazy women?" He said in his normal sexist tone. She snorted. "Do you know how hard it is to find normal food in this house?" His voice dangerously high, all the while jabbing the pieces of meat accusingly in her face.

Her violet eyes narrowed, this boy was asking for it. Pushing his meat ritten hands away from her sight she responded in an abnormally cold nature.

"Probably harder than killing that dead cow you're holding."

He shrunk back at her scary disposition and reluctantly placed the meat back on the counter. She smiled, but then realized how hungry the boy must have been. In all truth she was getting rather hungry herself. The chances of waiting for Tuck to eat were slim, so deciding quickly, she walked out of the room.

Danny looked between Sam and the meat before grabbing a slice, stuffing it in his mouth and moving in towards the remnants of the living room. "Announcing your exit would help you know..." He said in a 'as a matter a fact' tone. She rolled her eyes, as she continued toying with her phone. "Whatcha doing?" he muttered happily as he sat Indian style in front of the girl who resumed her spot from before.

"I'm feeding your ass.." she said grumpily as she obviously found what she was looking for and placed the phone on her ear. After about 3 seconds a "Jakey!" was screeched in a happy tone, almost to happy that Danny would get a tad bit jealous. Scratch that, that boat had obviously sailed as the teens eyes glowed a emerald before leaning into the smiling girl. " Thank god your open. I've got a job for you Nicholas Nickleby...You will be if you pull this off...The regular...Make it double...Wait a sec Jake, let me check with the boo radley over here...I wouldn't say...YES...Ok hold on." Holding her palm to the speaker she looked towards Danny with a questionable look. "By any chance are you and Tucker prone to eating anything spicy?"

"Spicy?" Tucker's voice echoed as he walked merrily towards the two, he had a smile on his face as he dropped his backpack to the floor. "Spicy's my middle name baby.." He said eagerly as he glanced towards Danny, who he had expected to take offense to the 'baby' part. So overprotective. To make him even more steamed, Sam gave a smile before returning to her conversation with this...Jake person.

With a quick glare he pulled Tucker aside. "Would you stop flirting?" he whispered. Anger clear in his face.

Tucker chuckled slightly before patting his enraged friend on the shoulder. "Calm down Kujo.I want nothing to do with your beloved Gidget."

Danny rolled his eyes, "What is with everyone and these references. I swear, it's like were on a late night TV show..." Tucker laughed a little at Danny's blunt wit and laughed harder as Danny feigned hurt...or maybe he wasn't feigning at all. Either way, it was hilarious moment.

--

"Praise the ground I walk on boys, praise it well!" Sam said, walking happily towards the laughing duo. Both boys gave her a look, and Sam sighed deeply. " I called some people and we will be fed in approximately..." she paused glancing at her phone, " 20 to minutes."

"Finally, I'm starving! And this one over here," He pointed a finger at Sam, who gave a death glare in return," making me feel like a criminal for stuffing a slice of ham in my mouth." Danny whined. With this news Tucker's eyes shot open to an abnormal size.

"Don't tell me..." Tucker whispered, shaking his head.

"...Yes...I know Tuck.." Danny said in a mock sympathetic tone

"Sam" Tucker began slowly, as if he were about to break down any minute now. "please don't tell me. your a..."

The teen cracked a innocent smile, and placed a hand on Tucker's shoulder. With a sweet, and understanding tone she began. " A vegetarian? Don't worry Tuck..." Tucker relaxed as he let out a huge sigh, " I'm not going to tell you I'm a vegetarian...That's why I have bumper stickers."

Teal eyes narrowed as he threw the hand that gingerly rested on his shoulder in disgust. "No wonder your so...". And as a huge pause gapped the room, the only sound that was heard was Sam's muffled laughter, until she could hold on no more and started to laugh.

" Well you've got me figured out." She said amusingly, suppressing every urge to laugh harder at Tucker's sour face. Although her strict, no meat diet, tended to make her stray away from those...who didn't technically share her view, she seemed to be warming up to Tucker. Perhaps she would end up having a couple good friends in Amity after all.

"Not funny.." He muttered before childishly pouting, avoiding her gaze like it was the damn plague. Sam just grinned and turned towards Danny, who had suddenly found an interest in a certain piece of the totaled couch. Holding it up close to his intense cerulean gaze, he squinted before turning to Tuck and pushing it in his face.

As he adjusted his glasses, Tucker began to inch the piece closer and closer to his face, as if he were to go into it if possible. And then a flash of recognition passed through his face as his eyes widened. He put down the piece carefully next to him and turned towards Danny. "Ectoplasm" he said. Danny eyes narrowed, but didn't look as surprised as Tucker, probably because he already knew Tucker was going to say that. "Color?" He asked sharply, not meeting Tucker's teal eyes. Tucker gulped, pulling up the piece to again and re-examining it.

This time it wasn't a flash of recognition on his face, but one of pure confusion. At that precise moment he was about to answer though, the door bell rang, making Sam jump up from her seat on the floor.

"Food!" she exclaimed happily. Danny snorted, completely forgetting about the ectoplasm.

"Yeah, food.."

"Excuse me?" She eyed him with an abnormal amount of anger and he could almost feel his blood boil.

"Sorry.." he began sarcastically " I had no idea you were so hungry. I mean, there IS food in the kitchen...but...I guess JAKE can make something better right."

"Uh...guys.." Tucker began uncertainly, staring at the two as they nearly bit each others heads off. "I think I'll go get the..." he pointed towards the door and spoke a little louder. "Yeah, I'm going to get that...considering you two are having an 'episode'..."

Neither of said episode-ies seemed to notice though.

"What's your problem?" She said, her hand on her hips and a fierce look on her face. Danny began to stand.

"I'm hungry.." He stated idiotically.

"Well the food is right there, and if you can stop being completely mental for about three seconds I bet your hunger will subside."

"You know if you hadn't given me a stupid guilt trip my hunger would have subsided a long time ago...and we wouldn't need strange people to deliver our food when we could be getting ready to SAVE our families."

"Oh don't give me that. YOU know we were waiting for Tucker and besides- If any one should be..."

The sound of the door slamming hard stopped Sam from her lecture though, and she and Danny watched as a wide-eyed Tucker came towards them rapidly.

"Get your stuff.." He stated, picking up his PDA and slinging his duffel bag over his shoulder.

"What?" Sam and Danny exclaimed.

The front door blew open and a vast amount of people began pushing through the door at the same time. Luckily the idiots were shoveling in at once performing the cliché 'stuck in the door' gag. Unluckily, they we all glowing a faint blue...

"Oh God...are they..." Sam began, tilting her head to the side.

"Ghosts!" Danny barked grabbing their stuff and pulling Sam with him. " Come on let's go through the back. The speeder.."

They raced towards the back door- Danny in the lead, Sam being dragged along and Tucker screaming in the back. Hilarious if it wasn't life threating- I'm sure.

"Guys?" Tucker said as the sound of the ghosts struggles died down, "I think..."

Ghosts began encircling them from their left, but at closer look they could tell that they weren't ghosts. They were people...citizens of Amity. In the front of course was Paullina Sanchez, her flawless skin glowing a faint blue, her pink outfit turning into a sickening purple.

The trio gaped before Sam shook her head in mock understanding.

"Weird. Demented. But...I can't help feeling these types of situations have their honesty." she said as they began moving closer towards the door. Ghost Paullina seemed to have noticed this too, for she began advancing on them with a beam of energy emitting from her hand. Danny shot a hopeless look at Tucker.

Paullina almost got them too. Almost. But...karma had a way of kicking ass at times too. Or at least Sam did, because she merely swung he duffel bag at Paullina’s head sending her towards the floor.

"Yeah…" Sam said as Danny and Tucker gaped...again. "Never liked her much..."
