No Place Wings Can Fly

I'd be better off dead,

That's how you've left me,

You've messed with my head,

Is this all you can be?

You live by the sword,

Innocent blood spilt,

You say you worship the Lord,

To hide from your guilt.

You need to have power,

So you kill but a child,

Blood runs by the hour,

To mothers so mild.

Can shelter be sought,

In your dry, barren land,

There's no food to be bought,

Has all hope been banned?

To run from it all,

That's all I can do,

Watch my children fall,

Because of you.

So forgive me now,

I so want to die,

As I can not see how,

Tired wings can fly.

I'll be on my own,

As I have all my life short,

If only I'd known,

Now hey there's a thought.

Of misery you cause,

And lives that you take,

And without a pause,

Remorse that you fake.

In this place or next,

I'll remember this life,

That I've taken myself,

With the flick of a knife.
