Author’s Note: Eek! I’m finally editing this chapter (it’s… *looks at calendar* February 10, 2009, at the moment. And I’m still only on chapter ten! XD). So, without further ado, I present the edited, hopefully grammatically correct, chapter one of… The Voice! There weren’t any Author’s Notes on the original one, so I don’t have anything else to put here, I guess.

THE VOICE

Chapter One: The Robo Room

Cube was eating a tuna fish sandwich, with both mustard and ketchup. He took a few slow bites, savoring the delicious flavor, before shoving half of it into his mouth, taking a huge bite, and swallowing with ease. A few seconds later his roommate Yuka came into the room.

"You're eating that fatty crap again, Cube!" she said angrily. Lately, she had begun trying to get Cube to loose a bit of weight, or at least try to stick with a diet… since he was fat. Even for a penguin.

Cube rolled his eyes. "It's not fatty food, Yuka! It's a tuna fish sandwich with extra salt and pepper and mustard and ketchup and soda! I caught the tuna myself!" he protested.

Yuka snatched the sandwich from the table and tossed it into the trash. Cube's eyes widened and he reached his flipper towards the garbage. "FREDDY!" he screamed. "Noooo...!"

Yuka sighed, "You named another sandwich?!" she exclaimed. "Ugh!"

Cube looked at the floor and said, "But I had to! It was so big and juicy and yummy and tasty... Mmmm..."

Yuka sighed again, rolling her eyes, and turned to go into her room. Then Cube heard a voice in his head, ‘Hit her with a hard, blunt object!’ the voice said.

Cube looked around his room and spotted his Robo-Lamp, he grabbed by the long part it stands on and lifted it. He waddled quietly behind Yuka as she put her paw on the doorknob, and smashed the lamp over her head. Yuka fell to the ground and Cube heard another voice in his head, but this one sounded kinder then the last one, ‘What have you done!’ this new voice said.

Cube's eye's widened and he stared at Yuka's limp body for several minutes. He then looked at the lamp in his flipper. He dropped the lamp and ran into the kitchen. There, he got a large trash bag. He ran back into his Robo-Style room, then he ran over the Yuka's body and hastily shoved her into the bag.

Cube dropped off the bag at the dump and then went back to his house.

At the house he picked up the broken lamp—It turned into a furniture leaf when he did—and tossed it into the trash. Then he walked over to his Robo-Closet, opened it and grabbed a towel, a fresh G-Logo shirt and a bar of soap (he always kept these in his closet!). Afterwards, he took a nice, long, warm, shower.

After Cube's shower, he decided to visit his best friend, Derwin.

When Cube found Derwin he was at the Town Hall trying to catch a Birdwing with his net. After a while the beautiful butterfly flew away, leaving Derwin upset. They were rare… he could've sold it for 3,000 bells!

Just as Cube started waddling towards Derwin, Derwin laid in the grass and fell asleep.

‘Wake him up!’ said a voice in Cube's head. Cube waddled over to Derwin and poked him. ‘Wake him up violently!’ the voice said.

Cube kicked Derwin in the balls. Derwin's eyes popped open and he said in a squeaky voice, "I'm up! I'm up!"

‘Again!’ the voice said. Cube kicked Derwin in the balls again. ‘Again!’ the voice said… again. Cube kicked Derwin one last time.
