Yet another drabble! These things are pretty easy to write, once I get a good idea. I know it’s short, but I would hate to drag on for too long. One day though, I will write something longer…

The Hardest Battle

Lina’s eyes burned with determination—and perhaps a little pain, as well. She stared defiantly into the gaze of her opponent, who was beginning to get a somewhat bug-eyed look about him. Apparently, he too was tiring.

Good, she thought. Now, if I can just hold out a little longer than him…

Unfortunately, as strong as Lina was, even she could only hold out for so long. She began to squint, trying to block out the burning, but it was so hard to resist. Then, miraculously, her opponent gave in.

“Ha! You blinked! I win!” she shouted triumphantly to Gourry.
