Teleport Mage
By: Ryuu kira
A girl that looked around 4 years old was sitting on the ground in the rain getting wet as people pasted by her without worrying about her. She on the other hand wished someone would notice her and take her home; she hated living on the streets. She remembered she never lived like the way she was now 2 months ago when her mother father and other family members were alive. But they disappeared leaving her by herself. Now she lived on the street.
"Aren't you cold sitting like this in the rain?" asked a man he had a cloak covering his clothes and hair so he could keep from getting wet.
The girl did not answer but when he bent down on to his knees and asked; "Would you like to come with me?" she nodded and he helped her stand up.
As they walked the man started to talk to her about what he did for a living and asked if she understood what he was talking about. She didn't though but she didn't want to go back living on the streets so she nodded.
"That's good, of course you're too young to do that...so you could be a maid at my manor," he said.
"A maid, you mean the person who keeps a house tidy?" she asked and the man gave a quick nod.
"I had a maid once...but she's gone now...so is the rest of my family." said the girl looking at the ground.
"Do you have a name?" asked the man.
The girl nodded and then said, "Landen Windsong,"
The man's eyes widened and then he smiled politely, "That's a good name, your mother must have really loved you," he whispered the last part to where she couldn't hear him.
"Huh?" asked Landen cocking her head to the side her dark wet hair falling from behind her shoulders.
The man only smiled and then noticed a carriage pull up in front of them. He picked Landen up as a sufher opened the door and stepped inside.
"How about I call you Lan, instead of Landen?" he asked as he sat down across from her.
The carriage started to move as Landen nodded. The man smiled and thought, 'Windsong huh?'
Lan didn't know at the time that the man she had agreed to go with would one day realize who he really was and why her family went missing.
12 years later
A wavy dark haired girl ran down the ally as men behind her chased her down it. She had to get away. She turned right and then tripped over a loose brick. She landed on the ground hard and she couldn't get up fast enough to start running from the men again.
"You sure are a lot of trouble girly," said one with orange mage robes on.
The girl turned her head and glared the two men who had chased her. The second man had one expensive clothes on. She looked up seeing people just a head of her she screamed really loud but no one seemed to hear her.
'No.' she thought and then was picked up by the man in the mage robes.
"I swear I don't know why our boss keeps you all to himself...expressly since you just saw us kill someone, now what should we do take you back and let the lord deal with you? Or should we, Lan?" asked the mage.
"Let me go!" yelled Lan and she started to glow goldish orange then a bright light covered her and she disappeared all that was left was a gold orange sparkle.
"Damn it she got away," said the mage.
The second man on the other hand wasn't paying attention to what the mage he was looking at the spot where Lan had first been and was now gone.
"We're leaving come on," he said after a while as the mage looked at him and nodded without a word.
Elsewhere
Briar Moss was weeding the garden out behind the discipline house when he heard Rosethorn calling him name. The 17 year old green mage stood up and with a basket full of weeds and started to walk over to where Rosethorn had called him from. From the heat he guessed it was time for lunch.
"This has got to be the hottest day we've had in years..." he muttered wiping sweat off his forehead.
As he walked up the hill he felt magic form above him, and not just any normal magic either, extremely powerful magic. As Briar looked up he fell onto his chest dropping the weeds in the air when a girl landed on him.
'Oww...' he thought when the girl landed her hand hit his head, if he had seen her before she landed roughly on top of him he would have caught her; but nope.
"What's taking you so...who's that?" asked Rosethorn when she came over to get Briar because he was taking too long.
"I don't know someone heavy," said Briar sliding out from under her and rubbing his head once he got out, When he saw it was a young girl he blinked.
"Where did she come from?" asked Rosethorn walking over to Briar. Briar didn't know she just appeared out of no where and landed on top of him.
"She landed on top of me," said Briar standing up.
"From above? Impossible unless she-" Rosethorn cut herself off on what she was saying and then looked at Briar.
"What did you feel before she landed on you? Any separation of powers?" asked Rosethorn.
Briar shook his head as Rosethorn bent down and looked at the girl more closely. She was nicely dressed in a dress that was white and light purple. Her hair was pulled back in a braid with a lace hair pen.
"She's unconscious," stated Briar causing Rosethorn to stand up then looked up at the sky.
"She came from there?" she asked point to the spot where oddly, Briar could see orange specks of power weaving itself in the winds.
"Yeah," said Briar looking back at Rosethorn.
Rosethorn nodded then looked down at the girl and then back to Briar, "Briar would you take her inside I'll go fetch Niko and a healer to see what caused her to fall unconscious," said Rosethorn.
Briar looked at Rosethorn something seemed off about her now, was it the girl? Well he'll find out soon enough.
