Operation: CHANGE

Mikan was in her room the other night. She was sitting beside her window, looking at the stars.

“Hmm… Now that I think of it, I wonder how long it will be like if I didn’t do the same things I do everyday with Natsume? Like greet him, sit with him by the Sakura tree, fight with him if he calls me names or even when he looks at my panties! That would really be hard for me! But what if I give it a shot?” Mikan thought. “Right! I’ll do it tomorrow! I just hope I can do this!”

The Next Day…

“Right! Operation: CHANGE, begin!” said Mikan, heading to her class.

She was walking through the hall and suddenly bumped into Natsume.

“Hey, watch where you’re going polka-dots!” Natsume shouted.

"Sorry…” Mikan said, emotionlessly

‘Hmm... I wonder what happened to polka-dots today.’ Natsume asked himself

Mikan entered the room and greeted everyone a loud, “Good Morning!”

“Good Morning Mikan!” Yuu said

“Hotaru!” Mikan shouted as she proceeded to hug Hotaru.

Unfortunately, she was hit by Hotaru’s “baka gun”.

“Waaaahhh! Hotaru!” Mikan said, crying waterfalls as Yuu helps her up.

‘She seems to be herself today, but what just happened earlier?’ thought Natsume.

“Good Morning Ruka!” Mikan said cheerfully.

“Good Morning Mikan!” Ruka greeted back.

“Well, I have to go now, see you!” said Mikan heading towards her friends.

‘Where’s my morning greeting? Wait, why am I thinking about that? I don’t care whether she greets me or not, I’ll probably ignore her anyway…” thought Natsume

“Did you see that?” Ruka asked.

“What?” Natsume said.

“Mikan, didn’t actually greet you today...” explained Ruka.

“So?” answered Natsume.

“Isn’t it supposed to be that she greets the both of us?.” Ruka said.

“I don’t care…” Natsume said.

After classes, Mikan took a stroll.

“I wonder if my plan is working.” Mikan asked herself. She continued to walk, until she found Natsume, sitting under a Sakura tree, reading his manga as always. “I wonder what Natsume is thinking? Well, since I’ll be doing my Operation: CHANGE, I might as well not mind him…”

Mikan just continued to walk. Natsume saw her and was getting ready for her annoying voice. But Mikan just walked past Natsume, not even looking at him.

“Something is definitely wrong with her today. Did I do anything bad that made her ignore me? Wait a minute, why am I thinking of her again!” Natsume asked himself.

A day passed with Mikan still doing Operation: CHANGE.

The next day, Mikan was walking outside. She tripped on a rock. She didn’t know Natsume was behind her.

“So, it’s strawberries today huh?” Natsume said to Mikan, which means he saw her panties.

“Oh, okay then…” said Mikan as she stands up and proceeded to walk but Natsume suddenly stopped her.

“Hey wait!” Natsume called out.

Mikan turned around and asked “What is it?”

“What’s wrong with you?” Natsume asked annoyed

“What are you talking about?” Mikan said.

“Don’t act like you don’t know! You’ve been ignoring me since yesterday. Also, why does it seem that my practical jokes aren’t working on you anymore?” asked Natsume

Mikan walked towards Natsume…

“It was all part of my plan. I just wanted to see how long it will take for you to react if I ignored you and your practical jokes. I guess it only took a day. Why, Natsume? Did you miss me THAT much?” asked Mikan with an eyebrow up.

Natsume suddenly blushes and turns around.

“And why would I miss an idiot who wears strawberry printed panties?” said Natsume.

“OH NATSUME, YOU’RE SUCH A PERVERT!” said Mikan as she stomps away.

“That’s better…” said Natsume, as he walks back to class…
