A Dream?
This was it - the last time Raphael Hamato would ever see his family. He could feel it deep inside himself as this Foot soldier swung his sword to Raph's left side, giving Raph only seconds to react and block with his other Sai as the other caught the downwards strike of the soldier's other sword. This guy was good - had kept Raph on defensive nearly all night. Raph didn't like being on defensive, and that guy knew it. He was keeping Raph this way on purpose.
Overpowering him, the ninja then released Raph's hold on his katana and then finished the downwards strike - cutting through Raphael's shoulder and causing a soaring screech of pain from every nerve in Raph's shoulder.
He looked back just a bit to see how his brothers were fairing. Leo was doing alright, but he was quickly growing tired and Raph could understand - they had been fighting for more than four hours straight by now. Even the 'great' Leonardo was getting somewhat sloppy and being held on defensive.
Michelangelo wasn't doing quite as well. Raph had never really gotten into the nun chucks as a weapon, but he could tell that it was getting more and more difficult for Mikey to defend himself with them - there's only so many times you can use two stick connected by a chain to catch a blade before they start to chip and break. Mikey was experiencing this now - Raph could see it in his eyes. Already Mikey was banged up and had some nasty looking cuts.
Finally, Donatello was doing the worst. He was getting wobbly now; he'd lost too much blood. This didn't stop the five ninja surrounding him from attacking vigorously. They were starting to be plain out dirty with their fighting tactics. Raph watched in horror as Don got a little off balance and fell for an old decoy trick that was easy for Raph to pick out even from the distance. All five suddenly lunged at him and began beating him with their weapons.
As Don blocked with his bo, he watched as the only thing that had been protecting him tonight was broken in half with a very direct maneuver from a sword. Raph could see his brother's eyes widen as the ninja began to kick and punch him.
Raph fell to the ground as the ninja he had fought found his way around the turtle and kicked him down. Raph coughed and looked to his other two brothers.
"SOMEBODY HELP DONNY!" he yelled out.
He didn't need to, by the time he was done calling out, Leo had found his fifth or sixth wind and had jumped into the middle of the beating and knocked every single of the ninja into submission. He then knelt down and shook Don to wake him up
"C'mon, Donny!" Leo said as he gritted his teeth. Why couldn't he have hurried up? Why hadn't he seen his brother in danger sooner? "C'mon, Donny - you're gonna be okay."
Don twitched a bit as his blackish-blue bruises began to make their marks. He slowly opened his left eye in realization his other eye was already too swollen to open. His eye widened and reflected a looming picture of a man raising his sword over Leo's head.
Leo began to turn to defend himself and his brother when the man kicked him hard enough in the chest to send him flying over Don and hit his head against the ledge of the building. In a daze, Leo reached out to his brother but couldn't do anything but slowly lower his head and close his eyes in surrender to the darkness taking over his mind.
"LEO!" Raph yelled as he began to run at the man that was preparing to execute Donny.
Suddenly, someone leaped from behind him and landed on his shell with a firm kick, causing Raph to tumble and roll a few feet before landing on his shell as breathed heavily. The ninja then kicked him in the head and caused Raph to almost roll over it was such a powerful kick.
Raph began to blink in confusion as he suddenly began to need to fall asleep. Just as his eyes were beginning to close, someone leaped out of the shadowy area in his vision and took down the ninja that had been kicking Raph in the head.
"Take that ya stupid Foot ninja!"
"Casey..." Raph coughed as his left eye began to close faster than his right.
"C'mon, Raph - stick wid me here!" the blurry figure holding Raph in an almost sitting position begged.
"Get...Donny..." Raph begged before passing out.
"HELP!" Mikey yelped as he tried his best to defend both the unconscious Leonardo and the delirious Donatello.
"Hold on, MIKEY!" Casey yelled out as he threw Raph over his shoulder and ran over to help his friend. He then laid Raph next to Leo and Don who was nearly unconscious due to blood loss now.
"We gotta get them home, Mike!" Casey warned as he kicked another ninja in the jaw.
"I know! I know!" Mikey growled as he hit the same guy upside the head with his nun chuck.
"I don't think you can last for much longer, either, bud!" the vigilante expressed his concern while using his handy hockey stick to bowl over many of the ninja that were attempting to surround them.
"Is April coming with the van?" Mikey asked hopefully.
"'Course, Mikey!" Casey smirked before his eyes widened. "MIKEY! LOOK OUT!"
Mikey looked to his left just as brick was hurled at him, giving the tired turtle no time to move and allowing the brick to hit his temple.
"MIKEY!"

Raph rolled over on his stomach in his hammock and blinked as he looked around at the room around him. He yawned a bit before sitting up straight and planting his feet on the floor of his room. He blinked a few times and rubbed his eyes. The smell of bacon and eggs had already drifted through out the lair and into his very room.
Stretching, Raph yawned and stood up. The walk seemed a little shorter to the kitchen today, but he supposed he was still a bit sleepy and didn't give it much thought as he walked through the door frame and into the kitchen. He looked around and smirked at how predictable everyone was.
Don was standing up and muttering to himself as he waited for the toaster to shoot up his toast. Mikey was laughing at something as he swirled up all the eggs and bacon on his plate and then engulfed it. Leonardo was sitting properly at the end of the table and reading the paper to make sure no one had seen them on their runs as he attempted to drink some orange juice.
"I had the weirdest dream last night," Raph smirked as he rolled his eyes at himself. "Some'ing weird about fighting and all of us 'bouts ta die..."
The other three looked at him strangely.
Raph blinked and looked around. "What?" he asked critically.
"That's strange..." Leo stated as he folded the paper over his knee and rubbed his chin. "I had a dream like that..." he stated. "I was trying to help Don and got kicked against a building...or something like that..."
"Me too... And that happened to you in my dream, Leo," Don said stiffly as his toast finally popped out.
Raph frowned - since when did they share dreams? He looked at Michelangelo who was oddly quiet as he shoved some eggs and bacon into his mouth nervously almost.
"What 'bout you, Mikey?" he asked as he looked at his brother.
Mikey gulped and blinked. "Umm... I don't remember dreaming anything..." he stated.
That made sense, Mikey hardly ever remembered dreams unless they were completely ridiculous or nightmares. Only way he remembered them - but that was just the way Mikey was.
"What if Mikey did have that dream, though?" Don asked as he pulled his toast out and walked over to his seat opposite from Mikey. "What are the chances that all four of us had the same dream?" he asked.
"Even three," Raph added.
Mikey looked at all four of them strangely, but listened intently.
"Could it mean something?" Leo asked.
Mikey suddenly laughed. "C'mon, guys! It's a dream - even I haven't paid attention to dreams in forever!"
"Yeah..." Don stated as he rubbed his chin and sighed. "Still...the chances are pretty slim..."
The other two nodded, and looked at each other. Just as Raph opened his mouth to say something to them about the dreams, Splinter walked into the kitchen with a smile on his face.
"Come my sons - we must hurry. Your practice begins shortly and we would hate to loose time from practice, correct?" he asked.
"Yes, Master," they answered in surprise.
It had been nine o'clock when Raph walked in. Practice was at eleven... He looked up at the clock and his eyes widened to see it read ten fifty-two. He scratched his head and looked at it. Had two hours passed?
"Time sure does fly..." Leo stated as he stood up and began walking towards the dojo, followed by a confused Don and a smiling Mikey who seemed oblivious to the current mood among his brothers.
Raph scratched his head and cocked an eye ridge as he looked at the clock. Was it possible that--
Smirking at himself and shaking his head, Raph denied the idea. "No...there's no way someone could change the time on us..." he thought out loud before following his brothers to the dojo.
