Summary:

After Char Aznable (under the identity of Quattro Bajeena) met Haman Karn in her AMX-003 Gaza-C mobile suit, Kamille speaks with him about his encounter between them. Set after the ending of the 2nd Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, A New Translation movie. A one shot story.

Note - You must watch A New Translation before reading it in case you don't understand the main part of the story.

Catapult Deck, Argama

"At last, I have been able to rendezvous with you. You shall accompany me, Char."

Char Aznable, aka Quattro Bajeena of the AEUG (Anti-Earth Union Group), began to sweat after he heard Haman Karn utter out his name. Hovering over his Hyaku Shiki mobile suit as he was still in space, he began to ponder on the words of the leader of Axis Zeon faction of the former Principality of Zeon.

"At last, I have been able to rendezvous with you. You shall accompany me, Char."

"What does she mean?" Char watched several Argama maintenance technicians went to work on performing routine maitenance on the Hyaku Shiki and the Zeta Gundam.

"Is she that desperate to be reunited with me?" The blonde man gritted his teeth, partially unseen from others under his mobile suit pilot helmet. "Her ideals are not the ones that father had wanted to be!"

"Lieutenant Quattro!"

Char looked up and saw Kamille Bidan, pilot of the Hyaku Shiki and potential Newtype, hovering towards him after speaking to an Argama technician on fixing his mobile suit.

"Lieutenant Quattro, are you all right?" He looked at Char with a bit of concern. "You seem a bit lost."

"Forgive me, Kamille." assured Char, not wanting to worry his young mentee. "I was thinking about something."

Kamille stared at him a bit before remembering the Gaza-C mobile suit that hovered near his Hyaku Shiki. "Are you referring to the mobile suit's pilot that spoke to you?"

"Yes." replied Char. "Why?"

"If I remember right," Kamille tapped the plexiglass of his mobile suit pilot helmet. "her name was Haman Karn, formerly of the Principality of Zeon."

Looking at his mentee, Char proceeded to grill him. "How did you know about her?"

Kamille shrugged, "From underground magazines."

"Hmm." mumbled Char, expecting that answer from him. "Kamille," started Char, remembering the conversation he had with Haman. "Did you, in any point of your life, met someone who you've never met for years."

"No." Kamille shook his head. "What about it, Lieutenant."

"Say that you've met the person who you haven't seen in years." Kamille nodded, following Char's explanation. "And that person, who you haven't seen starts to tell you things that don't make sense to you?"

"I think I know what you're saying, Lieutenant." Kamille had seem to understand. "But I don't get the main point."

Char sighed, knowing that he didn't initially understand. "What if that person makes you question your allegiance, your beliefs and everything you stood for?" The AEUG officer waited for an intelligent answer from Kamille. "For one thing, Haman's remarks helped me remember that I'm from Zeon."

"What will you choose for instance, Kamille? Loyalty to your supposed comrades or loyalty to your beliefs?"

"I get it!" Kamille realized what Char had told him. "She must be trying to persuade him to come back to the forces of Axis Zeon."

"I understand, Lieutenant." replied Kamille, before answering him. "If that happens, then I shouldn't be swayed by him or her." Char nodded at his mentee's reply. "Unless if you're in a state of doubt, of course. Many people tend to get disturbed over those kinds of questions."

The temporary ex-Red Comet patted the upcoming Newtype on his shoulder, grinning. "A good answer there, Kamille."

"Thank you, sir." Kamille proudly replied. "You don't seem to be a good teacher in explaining things like this, but I try to understand things like this."

"I hope you understand about this. This will be very useful later in your life as you get older." Char heard Kamille say I understand before leading him back to the MS hangar.

"Let's go, Kamille." Char lead him into the interior hangar of the Argama as the Hyaku Shiki and Zeta Gundam mobile suits are being loaded back into the MS hangar. "I'll treat you for some food to eat."

Kamille's stomach suddenly made an unpleasant sound, making the blue-haired boy look at it. Char chuckled at the young boy, remembering his time back in Side 3 as a young boy of his age when he had experienced strange sounds from his stomach, indicating a need to eat.

"Looks like your stomach needs to eat." grinned Char, leading the boy towards the cafeteria after removing his pilot helmet.

Kamille chuckled at his mentor, removing his pilot helmet as well.

"Yes sir." saluted the young boy. "I'm quite hungry."

"I must say, Kamille." Char looked at him and nodded slowly. "You're right about eating. I'm quite hungry too."

The two AEUG Newtypes made their way inside the cafeteria, where they were met by Emma Sheen and Fa Yuiry, before getting their food from the cafeteria chefs. The four AEUG personnel soon talked and laughed at their stories and jokes while eating their food, trying to forget the close encounter that they had with Paptimus Scirocco and Haman Karn.
