I was born

That’s what everyone can assume for certain

Other than that, I’m a mystery

Where I’m from, who was my father?

They guess, but I never say

I don’t say much

My life is my work

It’s the only way I can have a life

I have a glimpse of two worlds

But a place in neither

So I ride, I wander

I hunt

They look and stare after me

Envy, hate, fear, desire, or love

A dark spot on a sunlit hill

Untouched by time. No emotion.

An ice cold beauty of dark wonder trapped in the sun

I move like a shadow

I do my job well

The sword sings a silver melody

I kill the vampire. Always.

The battle outside pales

To the one within.

Half human

Half vampire.
