Chapter 3

Disappearing Nermia - Tendo Training Hall

Shadows appeared on the wall, Ranma leapt deftly away from said wall spinning in mid air coming into a loose fighting stance as several Shadows and Neo-Shadows appeared. Ranma didn't know how he knew the names of the creatures awarming out of the dark recesses he simply knew. He glanced behind him as several more appeared, he had been chasing Akane's kidnapper for a few days now only to run into a huge group of Heartless. Behind the group of Heartless the black robed figure that taken Akane laughed coldly, "Soon, Ranma Saotome you'll become a Heartless and a Nobody," with that the dark figure vanished through an even darker portal. Ranma had jumped over the group of Heartless but before he could reach the portal it closed.

Ranma heard the echos of the dark robed figure in his head of the cruel laughter, the pigtailed boy growled slightly launching his Moko Takabishya at the gathering Heartless. Shortly after Akane vanish so did the world around Ranma, he leapt onto the roof darkness swirling in every direction the only place untouched so far was the Tendo Home, but as time went by he knew the home and dojo would vanish into the black void. As it was everyone had already vanished save for him, becoming either Heartless or simply disappearing into the void. Ranma watched as more Shadows and Neo-Shadows slowly began to emerge from the roof, "Ya not going ta stop me from rescuin' Akane ya got me ya jerks," Ranma snarled as he backed away from them. "Nothing, she's all I got left," he let some despair enter his voice, "If there some Kami left please let me find away ta get out of here and save Akane," he prayed leaping over four Neo-Shadows as they lunged at him. He did a few double leaps to get clear only to run into a wall of Shadows, just before they could jump him how ever a bright light descended on him covering his eyes at the moment waiting for the attacks to fall.

Sea of Serenity

After a few moments Ranma gingerly lowered his arms and looked around. He was no longer on the roof of the Tendo home, instead he was on large platform that looked like stained glass. Looking down he saw a beautiful girl with long red hair done in a ponytail with blue eyes looking about his age wearing a pink vest, white undershirt, black pants, boots, and carrying a weapon that looked much like a key. In two smaller circles next to this image were two pictures of two boys both looking around his age one with spikey brown hair and another with shoulder length silver hair. Ranma continued looking on what shocked him the most was beyond the pictures of the two boys were pictures of three cartoonish characters one was a mouse with large ears, the second was a duck, and the last was dog with dopey expression and smile with dopey looking teeth jutting out. "This can't be real," Ranma whispered.

'You've been guided here by the light, to protect the newest Keybearer, do not be afraid,' a disembodied voice stated.

"I ain't afraid of nothin' cept maybe c-c-c-c, those feline things," Ranma shuddered slightly he looked around the expanse and three pedestials appeared floating above the pedestials were weapons. The first was a finely crafted sword with the emblem of three circles set up to look like mouse ears on the hilt. The second was a red and black shield with the same emblem emblazened on the curved surface. The last weapon was a staff, that held a blue crystal that shaped like mouse ears. "Man what's with the mouse fetish?" Ranma snorted.

'Choose a path, the Sword is the way of the Warrior, use strength to protect the weak and wrought terrible destruction upon your enemy. The Shield is the way of the Guardian, use defense to protect the weak and defend the injustices of life. The Magic Staff, use the powers of a mage to gain wisdom and show others the path while using your magical prowess to bring ruin,' the disembodied voice explained.

Ranma stepped up to the shield and extended his hand, the shield vanished in a flash, what replaced it was two black fingerless gloves glowing lightly, 'You've chosen the path of a Guardian, what path will you be willing to give up?' Ranma turned toward the Staff and touched it, the Staff became enlongated and the crystal mouse melted into a red jewel that looked like huge V. It floated there a moment before vanishing. 'You have given up the power of a Mage. And chosen the powers of a Guardian. The door to the Light is going to be forced open you must help seal it.'

"What's this got to do with Akane?" Ranma asked now holding the gloves in his hands. Both gloves had the emblem of the Key weapon the girl had in the stained glass stitched into the back of the gloves.

'All roads begin and end at the door, do not falter in your quest. Allow the light to guide you.' The disembodied voice faded Ranma felt his warning sense go off spinning around he came face to face with a huge creature in white, it's face had no eyes, nose or mouth, just a symbol of spearhead turned upside down. Ranma dropped into a fighting stance and the gloves magically appeared on his hands. The huge being brought it's ultra long arms up and dropped them with a huge amount of force. Ranma quickly dodged each strike(think Reaction command). On the fourth slam the Pig-tailed martial artist jumped onto the huge monster's outstretched hand ran up the length and engaged in a series of punch and kick combos before kicking away from the creatures face doing a mid air somersault powering up for a Moko Takabishya and firing it when he came out of his somersault. The blast hit the enormous creature sending it flying to the ground upon empact with the ground the creatures disintgrated in a series rips. Ranma dropped to the ground a second later a door appeared. Looking at the door cautiously as it opened the Pig-tailed martial artist listened as the disembodied voice spoke again, 'A door into the light has opened will you step through it and accept your destiny.'

Squaring his shoulders firmly Ranma Saotome stepped through the doorway bravely.

The World That Never Was - Dark Nine Headquarters

"You've brought one of Seven I see," Tiamus regarded Akane Tendo cooly holding her by the chin as she glared up at him. "Take her to her room and see she's treated well," he stated as three beserkers appeared grabbing Akane and hauling her out of the room. Tiamus regarded her a moment before turning to stare at the vast dark void.

A huge figure came up behind him and laid a gentle clawed hand on Tiamus's shoulder, the hand was protected by a wrist guard and three huge metal claws. "She stirred unwanted memories in you, I sense," the huge creature stated.

"It is of no concern, what she or she did not do, my path has been chosen, I will force open Kingdom Hearts once inside we will exsist again, that's all that matters," as the leader of the Dark Nine clenched his fist a dark orange flaming out from the gloved hand. "Have all the keybearer's been accounted for?"

"Sephiroth is being stubbornly tight lipped about his encounter with his old nemesis. If I had a heart I might show fear in this, he may of discovered something," the creature stated softly.

"It is of no concern these new worlds teem with dark energy, the Heartless have already consumed one world. Though I felt something happen when that world disappeared something that has only happened to two others," Tiamus looked up at the huge creatures. "Roxas and Sora, have the other members and their Guardians keep a watchful eye we do not need another Keybearer suddenly appearing out of no where to ruin our work."

St. Canard - Darkwing Tower

Kairi was leaning against a wall nursing a wound as Darkwing Duck sat quietly at his computer terminal punching away at console. "Seems we've underestimated, Nega Duck's abilites now that he's joined the Heartless," Darkwing leaned back in his chair glancing at the readout. It had been three weeks since he and Kairi had joined forces, the first four members of the Fearsome Five had been simple, they weaknesses that the duo could exploit. Megavolt was simple they dumped him into a water tower where his own electricity. Bushroot was just as simple Kairi used the fire spell Howl had given her to set fire to the various plant Heartless in a blind panic Bushroot tried to put out the fire only to catch fire himself and after few moments of running had burned down to a cinder. Liquidator having been knocked out of the equation earlier wasn't a factor, Quackerjack how ever proved to be far more dangerous than the others as Darkwing and Kairi fought with countless numbers of windup Heartless Jack in the Box and other toy creatures before fighting a huge Mr. BananaBrain to end the jesters rampage.

Kairi looked up at Darkwing, "We haven't fought Nega Duck yet, Darkwing," she stated rubbing her arm.

Darkwing cleared his throat looking a bit embarrassed, "True," Darkwing looked back to his screen. "I can only ponder how powerful Nega Duck is thanks to help from the Heartless," he jumps up from his chair. "No time like the present lets finish this."

Kairi shook her head, "It'll be dangerous going into a fight like this."

Darkwing smirked darkly, "Then let's get dangerous."

St. Canard - Alleyway near City Hall

Ranma awoke to find himself standing in a strange alley, he slowly stood up and after a few minutes of probing the area with his senses he heard the cries of a fight not far from his position. Leaping from wall to wall the pig tailed martial artist reached the rooftop. He ran toward the sound leaping onto the next roof. It was from this roof he spotted the fight, on the street below he was only mildly shocked to see the girl from the stained glass holding a different keyblade and standing back to back with a duck dressed in a purple outfit as they fought Heartless Shadows and Soldiers. Ranma clutch his hands into a fist watching the fight looking farther up he saw another duck looking almost like the one in purple arms crossed in thought staring at what appeared to be a giant keyhole.

The pigtailed martial artist took five steps back then ran forward leaping from the roof doing a tricking front flip landing amongst the Heartless and unleashed his Tenshin Amaguriken punches several Heartless went flying while others becoming little more cautious.

"Who are you?" the girl asked.

Ranma getting into a loose fighting stance smiled roguishly, "Name's Ranma Saotome, Heir to the School of Anything Goes Martial Arts, looks like ya could use some help."

Darkwing snorted, "Darkwing Duck doesn't need help," he gets nailed by a gloves fist from one of the Soldiers, sending him sprawling to the ground. He dodges out of the way firing his gas gun at the creature disorienting it long enough for him to hit it with a flying kick, "However, I have been known to make mistakes from time to time."

Kairi did a lovely backward strike before jumping back holding her Keyblade in front of her readying heself for a move Cloud had shown her. She closed her eyes a second then lunge forward at tremendous before leaping high into the air bringing the keyblade all the way back, "Braver!" on the downward strike the keyblade cleaved through a Soldier like it was paper. She stepped back gasping for air. She looked over at her new companion who was windmill of fighting and his strange gloves seemed to glow with each contact they made on a Heartless. The trio went through each Heartless until they were the only ones standing.

Darkwing glances up at Nega Duck, "It's over Nega Duck."

Nega Duck slowly dropped his arms and cackled evilly slowly turning toward them. "It's far from over Darkwing Dork, I have found what I was told to search for," he held something in his right hand that looked to the trio like a jeweled cone. Nega Duck held it above his head. "With this I'll finally be able to put you in your place!" His laughter grew in pitch as a huge beam of red light streamed from the cone. Nega Duck was enveloped in it and when the light died Nega Duck stood twenty stories tall and looked like a fusion of the entire Fearsome Five.

A symbol appeared on his chest one that Kairi new very well, "That cone transformed him into a heartless," she replied her keyblade.

Kairi, Ranma, and Darkwing form a loose triangle as they charged the huge Mega Nega Duck. Bringing up his arms Nega Duck started summoning trees from the ground. Which before they could impede the progress of the three Kairi lunge forward at surprising speed slicing through each tree as the trio went getting closer until finally they entered the square. Ranma being the first leapt at a run slamming his feet into the huge creature's stomach. Darkwing followed it up when the creature lurched forward by firing a green mist into the creatures face it fell back crashing to the ground. Kairi ran at Mega Nega Duck's head and began swinging away until Nega Duck slowly began to rise. As he did a huge tidal wave appeared, Kairi looked over at Ranma who face grew into a huge smile. Ranma dropped into a tight horse stance and drew a single arm back his body starting growing ice vapors. As the water grew closer the ice vapors grew denser when the water touch his body the pigtailed martial artist moved his arm in a strange spiral pattern as he brought up in unmistakable uppercut, "Hiryu Shoten-HA!" the water and Nega Duck was caught up in huge tornado the water came down like rain as Kairi and Darkwing ran up to Ranma who seemed to loose mass. When Ranma looked up Kairi found herself looking at a very busty looking girl around her age.

"Ranma?" Kairi asked in confusion.

"Not now," Ranma pointed up as the tornado vanish, Kairi reacted quickly leaping from the street holding her Keyblade at her side until she met Nega Duck in mid air and struck when Nega Duck struck the ground he didn't rise his body slowly began to disappear in a dark light as a crystal in the shape of a heart ascend from the mass of darkness.

Darkwing looked on almost mournfully, "Nega Duck was the most dangerous of my enemies it's almost a shame to see him brought down," he smirked slightly. "almost being the key word here. Well, looks like the City of St. Canard is safe thanks to the efforts of Darkwing Duck," he heard two throats clear and he cleared his own, "as well as Kairi and Ranma Saotome, I owe you much."

Kairi giggled while Ranma pulled a thermos out of nowhere and dumped the contents on her head the mass going back into there proper places. Kairi was slightly curious about this but seeing the keyhole in front of her she had more pressing matters to attend to. On pure instinct she held her Keyblade up and pointed it at the Keyhole in a collage of bright sparkling light a stream hit the Keyhole and after a second she heard and audible locking sound dropping her arm she willed her keyblade to vanish. "Well jobs done here, Darkwing your city will no longer be infested by the Heartless."

"That's great news it was bad enough just worrying bout my usual foes without having to worry about those Heartless too. I thank you on behalf of my city, and extend any aid for you," Darkwing replied.

With a nod and a smile Kairi turned to Ranma, "How did you get here and what happened to you when all that water hit you?" she asked.

Ranma chuckled weakly before scratching the back of his head in a very Sora like fashion which caused Kairi to narrow her eyes a bit, "Long story, don't suppose you got a place we can talk about this."

Kairi nodded and led the two down a narror alley way to a door, opening it she walked in with the two trailing as the door closed they both heard a clicking sound and the light outside the windows dimmed. "We all got some explaining to do."

Author's Note: This chapter is a bit short and this story may be put off a for awhile until the weather gets cooler, I write better when I'm not sweating. As for flames that have gathering steadily because of the way this story is going, please hold off on them until you can actually grasp what I'm trying to do. Ranma is going to be one of the three main characters in this story just needed time to get to him. Next world going to visit is Central aka the world of Full Metal Alchemist. Here's something that's been bugging me about KH2, FMA is the property of Square Enix. Makes you wonder why they just stuck with FF and Disney characters as oppose to adding other RPG character from Square Enix and Squaresoft games like XenoGears, Chrono Trigger, Star Ocean, Dragon Quest, etc. Hopefully they'll earase that mistake in the real KH3. I need a reliable editor for this story and my Full Metal Alchemist: Blade Edge story so I can continue.
