ON TO THE STORY;;

Kana, Kaori and Sati sat in the school office, explaining to the principle they’re situation.

“I see, so you’re pulling her out for a few months.”

“Yes, for her medical reasons. But she’ll be back.” Kana informed and the principle nodded.

“And what are the problems?” He asked and Kaori blushed, turning her head. Sati grabbed her daughter and tears began to fill her eyes.

“She’s been diagnosed with bi-polar personality.”

‘That’s not true. This is me…’Kaori thought, ‘The girl I used to be, was never me.’

“Oh, I see then, well then Kantoya-San--”

“Sohma.” Sati injected and the principle looked down at his paper work and agreed with her.

“Yes, sorry. Sohma-San, when you get back here, we’ll be waiting.”

After the three had left the office, the School bell rang, and Kaori still had one stop to make.

“Okay you guys, I gotta go to my home room, I’ll meet you at the car.” Kana and Sati departed and Kaori walked down the busy hallway. She slid open a familiar door, the sent of chalk tickled her nose, and she let out a sneeze. The students, as well as Mayu-Sensei turned to her, and she blushed. She wasn’t wearing her school uniform today, she wore a blue, fancy shirt and faded blue jeans. She glanced around the room and saw Kyo, making her blush.

“Kaori, why are you here late, and why aren’t you wearing your school uniform?” Mayu-Sensei asked and Kaori walked over to her and whispered something in her ear. The teacher nodded and pulled her to the furthest corner of the room, and turned to the eavesdropping students.

“Didn’t I tell you to turn to page 543 in you math books?! The class jumped and flipped open their books, starting their daily work.

Kyo watched as Kaori and Sensei talked, Kaori whispering and blushing as if embarrassed. ‘What is she doing? Is Kaori not going to go to school today again?’ He thought to himself, leaning his hand on his chin, staring intensely at the two women in the corner. He saw Mayu sigh and rub her temples, and Kaori look away towards the window, ashamed. Then the teacher grabbed Kaori in a hug, and everyone in the room went silent.

“I’m sorry then. Of course you can leave; I’ll see you soon then.” Kaori nodded and pulled away, pulling out an envelope from her back pocket. “Mayu-Sensei, could you please, give this note to Kyo-Kun.” She muttered and Mayu turned to the orange haired teen, eyes connecting.

“Of course.” Kaori nodded and bowed, leaving the room and her only true friends.

Tohru watched as Kaori left and then turned to Mayu, who was still standing the corner where they had their conversation moments before. Kyo, who was sitting next to the window, stared blankly out into the sky. ‘Huh?’ Kaori walked out of the school and to a car with suit cases in the trunk. ‘Where are you going to?’ He wondered, as he stared at the teen as she opened the back door.

She turned around one last time and looked up three stories, to find her eyes locked with Kyo Sohma. Her heart began to race and she closed her eyes, letting the tears slip from her lids. She sat herself into the car, and Kana drove off, away from her happy life.

“Yo, Sohma, Kyo come here.” Mayu-Sensei called as she turned around, her face pale. Kyo strode over to the teacher and she handed him the envelope that Kaori had given her. “Here, Kaori wanted me to give this to you.” Kyo looked at the white paper and began to open it, unaware of the content inside.

‘Dear Kyo,
This letter is to tell you everything I’ve ever pondered and ever thought about you. So, here it goes; when I met you Kyo, you seemed to be a pain in my ass, never leaving me alone, always talking to me like you knew me. But you did, well, you knew Tohru, who I guess, for a while I was to you.

You always looked at me with, I don’t know, you could say, love in your eyes. And needless to say, it scared the shit out of me. Then I realized, it wasn’t me you were staring lovingly at, it was Tohru, and I got jealous. Yeah, I know, it’s not like me, but it’s true.

Then, you and Yuki had found out that I wasn’t Tohru, and I was afraid that you wouldn’t look at me the same way you looked at me when I was Tohru. That was the true reason I kissed you, not to prove a point, but to see you look at me like that for one last time. Once you found out I wasn’t Tohru, like I had predicted, you didn’t look at me with those piercing eyes the same way again. It was different, your gaze when you looked at me, I can’t even describe how much your eyes altered when you looked into mine.

My friend, Kana asked me what I thought about you. Do you want to know what my answer was?

‘To me, Kyo is like the rising sun on the horizon, after a long, cold rainy night. He teaches us that we can move on after a horrible storm.’ It’s true, what I said to her. Lame, I know, but true.

So in this letter, I put down my inner most feelings about you. And the whole point is to tell you…I love you Kyo Sohma. I really do.

Sincerely; Kaori Sohma.

P.S – I’m going to Oska, with Kana, So, I guess this is goodbye.’

Kyo stared at the letter, in shock, astonishment, and realization.

“I…I love her too.” He whispered and Mayu looked at him questionably.

“If you love her, then go after her.” Kyo glanced up and shook his head.

“I couldn’t catch up with her in time.” Mayu stared at him.

“WHAT?! You, doubting yourself! You can too go after her, she’s taking a train! Go, now!” She yelled and the students jumped up, stunned by the sudden outburst, since the room was originally quiet. Kyo turned to Tohru, who stared at him, hoping that he could save her new best friend. He nodded and took off, running out of the room, and out of the School, towards the nearest train station. (A.n- This is a TRAIN, okay, not a subway. Kinda old fashioned I know. But it’s more romantic. I’m a sucker for romance.)

“Boarding all passengers for the train to Oska.” A voice said on the intercom and Kaori sighed as she picked up her luggage. Kana smiled as they stood in line together, for Sati was staying behind for her work. They had reached the front of the line, and handed the conductor their tickets, as the bell boys grabbed their bags.

“--Ri! KAORI!” A familiar voice called and Kaori turned around to see Kyo standing on top of the stairs that lead to the train.

“Kyo,” She said to herself “KYO!” She yelled as she realized that it was actually him she was hearing. She turned to Kana who smiled.

“Go, I’ll go to our seats, just don’t miss the train.” Kaori nodded and exited the line, walking rather fast towards Kyo. His breath came out in gasps, and she figured that he must have run here. Kyo’s feet sped down the stairs like lightning, and by the time he had reached the bottom, Kaori stood in font of him.

“Kyo, What are you doing here?” She asked and Kyo sucked in air, his hands on his knees, and face to the ground.

“I came to tell you…” He looked up to the girl and smiled. “That I love you.” Kaori stepped back, and gasped.

“But--” Kyo cut Kaori off as his lips captured hers, in a simple, yet effective kiss, that made her legs shake. He pulled away, and opened his closed eyes.

“Kaori, when I looked at you, as Tohru, I looked at you as a sister. I knew that she and that damned rat where a couple, so I let her go. And then I found you, and slowly, but surly, I fell in love with you.” Kaori looked at him, tears about to escape from her once again.

“Last call for all passengers boarding the train to Oska.” Kaori looked back to the train, then to Kyo.

“Kyo…I have to go.” He nodded and was about to turn when Kaori grabbed his hand. “Wait for me?” his face brightened.

“You’re coming back?” Kaori giggled and nodded.

“Of course, so wait for me. Cause when I come back, and there’s another girl in your arms, I’ll kill her with my bare hands. Even if it is Tohru.” Kyo chuckled, and leaned in, kissing her cheek.

“I’ll wait for you as long as it takes.” He whispered in her ear, and pulled away, motioning for her to go back to her train. She stepped onto the train and turned back to Kyo, who was standing with his hands in his pockets.

“When I come back will you look at me with those eyes?” She called to him, as the train began to tug its way out of the station. Kyo shook his head and smiled,

“As long as you never compare me to the sun again, give me something manly!” He called and Kaori laughed.

“What, like a tulip?! I’m more manly then you!” Was the last thing she was able to say, before the train exited the station all together, leaving Kyo standing on the platform, a grin plastered on his face.
