Ch4: Aunt Helen

“The express plane to America will be taking off in 15 minutes,” says the announcer at Tokyo airport.

Kagome looks at the clock on the wall while standing in line to show her ticket to get on the plane. She looks at back her family and glares at her mom. She doesn’t know if she can make it without InuYasha while living in Ohio. She’s glad that she can understand English.

After she shows her ticket, she goes through security and boards the plane. It takes Kagome awhile for her to find her seat since there is so many people. When she finds it, she sits down to nice looking older woman. She’s glad it isn’t an annoying little kid or someone who is afraid of planes.

“Hello miss,” says the older woman.

“Hi.” Kagome takes her seat.

“How are you?” she asks very nicely.

“I’m fine.”

“That’s good.” She smiles at her.

Kagome smiles back. She glad she isn’t a scary old lady.

Once the plane takes off, Kagome wonders if InuYasha is right about that they’ll see each other again. She shakes her head. She needs to be positive. They will meet again someday…she hopes.

It’s been a very long trip. When she got into America, Kagome had to switch planes in California. She’s so glad that she’ll sleep in a bed tonight. It’s hard to sleep sitting up.

“Kagome!” yells a woman. She runs up to Kagome and hugs her, “I’m your Aunt Helen.”

Kagome looks at her before she says anything. She looks very nice. She has light brown hair, hazel eyes, her skin is tan, and she’s very tall.

“Is there something wrong?” Helen asks once she let go of Kagome.

“No. How did you know it was me?”

“Your mother told me what you look like and I also have pictures of you from when you were little.”

“How are we relatives?”

“I’m your father’s brother’s wife.”

“Oh. How come we never met?”

“Oh we did, but you were a baby so you don’t remember. Your Uncle saw you more than me because someone had to stay home to take care of the farm.”

“You’re married to Uncle Haru?”

“Yep. Now, let’s go get your suitcases.”

“Ok.”

After they get her suitcases, they go to Helen’s truck. Kagome wondering how far her house is, “Aunt Helen, where is your farm?”

“Call me Helen. You’ll see when we get there. Don’t worry it’s not too far,” she answers.

“What’s it called?”

“Youkai Farm.”

They get into the car and drive away. The farm wasn’t too far away. It was hour long drive. When they arrive dogs coming running up to greet them.

“Are they friendly?” asks Kagome.

“Yes they are.”

“What are their names?”

She points to the white dog, “That’s fluffy. He’s very helpful around the house when we lose things.” Next she points to the English Springer Spaniel, “That’s Abby. She’s a very smart. She can open almost every door in the house, and is very hyper.” Finally she points the third dog. The dog is brown and white, “That’s Inu. He’s helpful around the farm and is a wonderful guard dog.”

“They are so cute.” Kagome bends down and starts to pet the dogs.

“Come on. I’ll show you the house and your room. Tomorrow we’ll go to the store so you can pick out things to put in your room.”

“Alright.”

When Kagome walks in the house, it’s very big. The living room is right to the door, family room is down the hall and to the left, and the staircase is to the left of the door. The kitchen is down the hall and to the right. In the kitchen there are two doors. One leads to the basement and the other to the laundry room.

“Make yourself at home,” says her aunt. She puts down Kagome’s suitcases in the living room, “You can unpack later.”

“Where’s my room?”

“I’ll show you.” So they go upstairs.

It’s a nice second floor. It has six rooms. One is the master, a study, a bathroom, a closet, and two guest rooms. Helen goes down the hall to left and opens the door, “This is your room. It’s a cross from our room.”

Kagome walks in the room and sees a desk, bed, a nightstand, a closet, and two dressers, “It’s nice.”

“You think so?”

“Yeah.”

“Ok. Dinner will be ready at seven.” her aunt leaves and closes the door.

Kagome sits down on the bed. She sighs. It will take awhile to get use to, but she’ll deal with it. Then she lays down on the bed fall asleep. It’s been a long day.
