Sides of the Mirror
Disclaimer: I do not own Kingdom hearts. If I did I wouldn’t have to write stupid Kairi Sora fluff in the next chapter. It would be purely Riku molesting Sora.
Summary:AU AkuRoku, Sorku, Cloud/Leon Sora was a normal kid, with, maybe a bit spiky hair, but normal, and a normal(ish) friends, and family, but when the characters from a game come to life, and share not just his and his friends’ appearances, but names as well. What will he do, when he finds out a few things he didn’t really need to know… This is going to start with Namine coming to the school for the first time. Then it shall switch to another person, I just wanted to introduce the school some how, and this was the first way I thought of…
Pairings: AkuRoku, Sorku, Cloud/Leon, Kairi / Hayner, Pence/Olette, Selphie/Tidus \ Sora/Kairi, one-sided Sorku, Cloud/Aeris one-sided Leon/Yuffie
The slash in the middle shows the two different dimensions. That’s why some pairings are repeated.
Chapter 1
P1
A girl sat in the back of her vehicle, staring out of the window, blond hair gently falling into her face. Her deep crystal blue eyes blinked as the car pulled up to a tall, but also quite wide, white washed building, called Travers town High.
The building, although large, had only two sets of doors, one at the main entrance, and one at the side. But that was for strategic reasons, students had a lot harder of a time getting away when there are only two exits. Although there are safety door around the school, sure, but if those are opened, then the fire alarm goes off.
Now, you may be thinking, like… ‘Wow, kind of tight security, just for a high school…’ but it’s not, not really anyway, I mean, there are so many dramas, and soap opera like things going on, plus some people don’t like making out in places they can be found, namely the school all together, but they also have things like jobs afterwards or something.
Although, she wasn’t saying that sneaking out was a good idea, not with ‘Professor Highwind’ always around, if you were caught out of class unexcused, you would be lucky to get through the year with a detention a day, but if you repeated the act, well, lets just say… Your summer might be spent in doors.
As the car came to a complete stop, the driver walked around to open the door, and successfully break the blond out of her day dreams.
“Miss Namine, we have arrived, shall I show you in?” Asked the driver, as he did every morning.
“No, no, I can go myself, thank you though, Jeffery.” Smiled Namine, looking up at the tan skinned man with brown eyes, and graying black hair.
“Very well miss, then here is your bag” The butler said, holding out the white and grey back pack.
“Thank you, I must get to school now, Jeffery.” She answered, taking the bag with a smile and slinging it over her back. She stepped out of the car, and into the sun, squinting up at the sky with an arm shielding her eyes, she smiled. “It will be a good day today, I can tell.”
And she walked up to the school, a smile on her face, and not a care in the world, except to get to class before a teacher caught her…

Sora was sitting at his desk, head in his arms, and not moving. Most people would think that this meant he was pouting, but it didn’t! He was… simply board. Yes, board.
For, Riku was not in his Homeroom, Roxas was talking(flirting) with his ‘friend’ Axel, and Cloud wasn’t even in his grade… Plus, Kairi was showing Namine around school again. And there really wasn’t anyone else, unless you wanted to talk to… to… Selphie. But you don’t do that unless you have a death wish, which left Sora, completely, and utterly board.
Then, the use of his name in his twin’s conversation caught his attention.
“… So, I wanted to know if you’d heard of it, it’s a pretty cool game. Called ‘Kingdom hearts’ main character’s name is Sora.” Axel said, grinning as he saw both twins do a double take. Sora looked up at Roxas, and Roxas to Sora, then both looked at him, then back at each other then at him. “Looked like you’re bro too, weird huh?”
“Where’d you find it?” Sora questioned, interest plastered onto his face.
“’s been out for a while, number two’s coming out In a few days, and I wanted to know if you two wanted to get it with me?”
“Sure!” They both said in unison.
“Alright! I’ll meet you both with Cloud outside your house on Saturday.” Axel said, looking at the two for compliance.
“We’re in!” Roxas said, nodding. “I’ll just have to ask Onii-san first.”
“Yeah.” Sora agreed, nodding as well. “So, how much like me was the kid from the game?”
“Well, the kid, Sora, he has a crush on this other girl, Kairi-“ He began but was but off by two simultaneous sounds. One, was from Roxas, who burst out laughing, and one from Sora who was now hunched over in his seat, coughing and gagging. “ Who was his best friend, and then his other best friend, Ri-”
“Don’t you dare say Riku.” Sora glared, “Or I’ll know you’re making this up.”
“I am not! It’s not MY fault that there are a series of coincidences concerning you and your friends…” Axel said defensively. “It’s Square. They made it. Even has Travers town in it some where…”
“Strange…” Roxas muttered, but had no time to say more, because Kairi came crashing into the room, followed by a surprised looking blond girl, who they had only met yesterday. “Oh! Hi Namine. How are you?”
“Oh, hello Roxas, I’m fine thank you, how about yourself?” She smiled over at him, making Axel frown.
“Roxas, come here.” Axel said, tugging on Roxas’ arm.
“Axel! I’m talking right now I can’t- Ahhhh!” As Roxas turn he was suddenly lifted, easily out of his chair into Axel’s arms bridal style. Blushing furiously, he pushed Axel off of him, but not before the older boy had had a chance to mouth ‘mine’ at Namine.
She blinked, then started to giggle. “That was so cute! I wish I had a camera!” Now Kairi had started to giggle too.
“Sora! Get Riku to do that to you! It would e even better!” Kairi giggled, then stopped abruptly, as the teacher came in.
“Sit down! Roxas, Get off the floor.” Called the women from the door. She had long black hair, falling down her back in a pony tail. She had brown eyes, and wore a black belly shirt and a matching black skirt with pieces of cloth on eater side to hide the fact that it was a mini skirt; she also had black gloves and combat boots. The women sat down at her desk, and surveyed the class. “Yes, Kairi, what is it?” She asked, looking over toward the red head.
“Umm… Tifa? We have a new student.” Kairi said, pointing at the only person still standing. “Her name’s Namine and she needs a seat.”
Namine nodded, and looked up at the teacher. “Hello…” She greeted shyly at the teacher.
“Hello. My name is Miss Lockheart, but you can call me Tifa, everyone does now…” Said the teacher with a smile. “You can sit beside… Yuffie.” She said, pointing at the short black haired girl in the back of the room.
Yuffie nodded, and waved to catch Namine’s attention, then turned to talk to her as she walked over.
“We will start with attendance, and then a five minute break before class.” (A/N: I don’t know if that’s normal, but my HR teacher always starts class like that.) She said, sitting down, as she shuffled through the cards in front of her.
“What was that for back there?” Roxas muttered, glaring at Axel. “Why’d you do that?”
“Just telling the girl something.” He replied looking at him with a grin worthy of the Cheshire cat.
“Well, next time say it out loud, instead of making a fool out of yourself, and more importantly, me.” Roxas glared.
“Well so-ry!” Axel replied, face forming a mock pout.
“What are you doing now, imitating my brother?” Roxas scolded, grinning
“Hey!” Sora shouted, earning a look from the teacher. “I do not pout!”
“Of course not, and I wasn’t talking about you, I was talking about cloud.” This statement made all three burst out laughing, earning stairs and glares from not just the teacher.
“What’s so funny?” Asked a blond boy, walking over to them. “The teach is livid.”
“Privet Hahaha joke… haha” Roxas said, remembering the only time he had ever seen his older brother pout, it had been hilarious…
“Well keep it down, ‘cause Selphie is getting interested, and had sugar today, so be careful.” He said in a hushed voice, indicating a pretty girl with short brown hair and emerald green eyes.
“And who gave her this sugar, Mr. ‘I must obey Selphie every command’?” Roxas asked, raising an eyebrow at Tidus.
“No, hey! Don’t call me that!” Tidus glared at Roxas.
“No, he much prefers ‘Tidy-widy’ as a nickname.” Sora put in, nodding.
“Hey! That wasn’t my idea! It was hers, and I’m never giving her any alcohol again, as long as I live.” Tidus replied, seething. He clenched his fists, then unclenched them. “I’m leaving, let Selphie come over, but if she does, Yuffie might.”
That shut everyone up. Sure, Selphie was tolerable, even with some sugar in her system, but a sugar hyped Selphie plus Yuffie was a death wish.
“Soo… Umm… yeah, I’m gonna shut up…” Sora muttered after a very awkward silence, and he put his head in his arms again.
“Yeah, me too.” Roxas agreed doing the same.
“Neeah…” Axel groaned, and started to stair out the window.
“Has anyone seen Waka?” Tifa asked suddenly. Looking around the room for the read head.
“He’s absent today, Miss.” Said a brown haired girl with green eyes by the name of Olette. She was Selphie’s twin sister, although on whole different level of maturity. “He caught a cold, you see…” She explained looking at the teacher innocently.
“Alright, what about Hayner?” She said, marking Waka’s card.
“He should be here.” Olette said, looking around the room for the temperamental blonde.
“Alright then, let’s get started, any not here shall now be marked absent.” She said, marking the last of her cards.
About a quarter through the history lesson to Kari’s delight, Hayner appeared with a note from the office. He winked at her before taking his seat in front of Pence, a nice, if a bit large boy with black hair that went up in a palm tree style on his head. They grinned at each other, and then went back to the lesson.
The Class passed quickly, and Sora went off to study hall, while Axel and Roxas went to art.
Sora grinned as he walked down the hall toward the library, and one of the few classes he had with Riku, and his brother, well, his other brother.
Sora was sort of the odd duck in the family, because of his brown hair. His twin had even had blond hair, but he hadn’t. Roxas had often teased him, about thinking him adopted if they hadn’t been born together, Cloud pretty much just kept out of the conversation, although he had looked very amused.
Cloud was sort of soft spoken, with the family’s famous gravity defying hair, he looked a lot like Sora, except almost everything was a shade lighter, instead of brown it was blonde, like Roxas’, his skin was a bit lighter, because he liked it inside better then going to the beach, or the playground… He has deep, dark blue eyes, darker than mine, and a glare that even made Leon shiver once.
Roxas, on the other hand, is more of the outgoing type, he likes to run, and fight, and swim and stuff likes that, he has blond hair, that always cowlicks to the left, also gravity defying, and tanned skin. He also has blue eyes, exactly the same as Sora’s, which many don’t think should be possible (Mainly Riku who met Sora before Roxas) but Sora loves his twin anyway.
Sora grinned again, as he stepped into the library, and spotted Kairi, and Riku sitting with Namine.
Kairi was slightly shorter then Sora, by maybe half an inch, (Sora is short) she has deep red hair that goes a bit past the collarbone, and rests on her shoulders. She has light blue eyes, and an award winning face. Not that Sora liked Kairi; they had been friends for too long, really!
Riku, on the other hand, just moved here two and a half years ago. He had long (About Kairi’s length sliver blue hair, and the most amazing aqua marine eyes. He has very slightly tanned skin, and an amazingly handsome face, muscular physique, and was great at sports, and with fighting. Along with video games, swimming, running, writing, drawing, he gets all as in school, and is pretty much perfect. He also has his own fan club.
Kairi and Riku waved, and Namine smiled as Sora came over, and sat in Riku’s lap.
“Well hello there!” Riku said with a slight ‘oofff!’ as Sora made himself conferrable in his boyfriends’ lap. “When your brother comes over, he’s going to make you get up…”
“I know, so I better make the most of it…” Sora said, grinning up at the silver haired boy.
Kairi and Namine burst into a fit of giggles, and the two boys rolled their eyes.
“Girls…” Riku muttered shaking his head. “Can’t live with them, and would die happy if the left…”
Both girls stopped giggling and glared at him, while Sora burst into a fit of… more manly giggles of his own.
“What about him?” Kairi asked, pointing at the giggling boy in Riku’s lap.
“HE’s not a girl.” He said simply, shrugging. “’Couldn’t live without him…”
“He doesn’t seem very manly right now.” Namine pointed out. Sora glared, then pouted.
“Now look what you did!” Riku mock-accused, pointing a finger ant the blonde, before rocking Sora back and forth, cueing things like ‘poor baby!’ or ‘It’ll be ok as soon as you grow another inch or two..’ to him.
Sora got off his lap, and sat in the chair next to it. Glaring at all of them as he pouted some more.
After a few minutes passed, Cloud and Leon came in, the teacher, Vincent (Not many of the teachers like their last names) holding them by the ears.
“And don’t do it again.” He finished, pushing them toward their seats.
Cloud grumbled as he sat next to the pouting Sora, he looked over at his Otouto-san, and frowned.
“What’s wrong Sora?” He asked still frowning. “You’re usually sitting on Mr. Aqua eyes over there when I get here.”
When Sora didn’t answer he turned to Kairi and raised an eyebrow. She shrugged, and mouthed spat, nodding her head sharply at Riku. Then she looked over to Leon, who was staring off into space, with his arms crossed with a slight frown on his face. His brown hair framing his face.
“What happened with the teacher?” She whispered. Staring questioningly at Cloud.
“He caught me and Squall out in the halls…” Cloud muttered.
“Doing what?” She asked with a cat-like grin. “With your toughs down each outers throats?” She added, with eyebrows raised.
Cloud glared, turning slightly pink before looking away. “Shut up…” He muttered.
Kairi’s grin widened, as he turned red. Satisfied, she turned to Sora, who was still pouting, though he could obviously hear the conversation, because he too, was amused.
“Sorry Sora, you’re very manly.” She whispered, making him blush slightly, as he looked up at her. His pout dissolved completely as he smiled at her, and glared at Riku.
He raised his eyebrow at the younger boy. “What do you want from me?” He asked.
“Say your sorry!” Sora commanded, pointing a finger stubbornly at his friend.
“For what? I didn’t do anything!” He said exasperatedly. Glaring at him. Sora started to pout again, and Cloud gave Riku a pointed glare, and Riku sighed. “How about I take you out for ice cream after school?”
“Yeah!” Sora grinned, forgiving the silver haired boy at the thought of ice cream.
“Not alone your not.” Cloud said, intruding in the conversation. “Me and Roxas will come.”
“I wanna come too!” Squealed Kairi, grinning. “And since Cloud is going, Squall should go too.” She said firmly, with no room for argument.
“Why do I have to go?” Leon said abruptly, waking up from the sound of his name, and startling everyone.
“When did you wake up?” Kairi squeaked looking over to him.
“I wasn’t asleep!” Leon growled, “And stop calling me that, it’s Leon!”
“Sure, whatever you say, Squall.” She said with a smirk. “And of course your going! If you don’t someone may try to pick up on Cloud, I mean, he’s hot!”
Both of the older boys glared at her, before Leon consented to come, and zoned back out.
“If… If you’re all gong to the ice cream parlor together, I could drive you there? My family’s car could hold all of you comfortably…” Namine said, looking a bit uncomfortable.
“That would be wonderful! Thanks Namine!” Kairi said, hugging the blond girl.
She blushed and pushed Kairi away. “It was no big deal…”
Kairi blinked. “Hmmm… What’s wrong?”
“Nothing…”
“Yes there is!”
“No there isn’t!”
“Yeah!”
“No!”
“Yes!”
“No!”
“You know, you two sound like a married couple.”
“Ye- eh? What did you say?”
Everyone burst out laughing, as Kairi stomped around, seething. Namine reluctantly started to laugh too, and Kairi glared at her.
As everyone laughed, the bell for the next class rang. They all got up, and headed out the door, and to the lunch room.
“Riiiiiku.” Sora whined, holding the older boy neck from behind. “I’m not hungry today…”
“Alright.” Riku purred, smirking as he pulled Sora into an empty classroom. “Let’s go somewhere else for lunch.”
-
Namine had had a very eventful day. First, she had met Kairi. An event in itself. But then, on top of that, she had met YUFFIE just thinking about that name made her shiver, or give her a headache. Or both.
Then she had made quick friends with the ‘hottest guys in school’ as Yuffie had put it. Then, of all things, she had learned how to use a weapon! A wooden sword to be precise, and it wasn’t like she was a master yet, she’d just learned how to hold it. But, best of all, was that Roxas was her tutor. For weapons, but still… It was really cool, except for when halfway through class he had taken his shirt off, she thought she might have died if she’d lost anymore blood…
But that wasn’t important. What was important was that her, and her new friends were going to an ice cream parlor and she was the one getting them there.
“So, how do we get there?” Whispered Axel, to an annoyed looking Roxas, who shot his a glare. “Sorry, just curious…”
“Curiosity killed the cat.” Sora said, looking up at the taller boy, eyebrows raised.
“Yes, but the satisfaction brought him back…” Axel reminded him.
“Yea, but it will only work nine times. And that was the eighth time you asked him that question in the past five minutes. Careful, one more and not even satisfaction gonna get the scars off your face…” Just then, the limo Namine had been dropped off in pulled up.
It was a stretch limo, although not gigantic, it would easily fit all of her new friends. The limo was white. The windows were tinted, and the back seat had a circle of cushions surrounding the walls of the inside made the seats, and a table in the middle was for putting food and drink. The seats were pink, although a very light pink. Hopefully the boys wouldn’t mind… Hopefully.
“WOW!” Axel screeched, looking from the limo to Namine and back. “Namine! Your family must be loaded!”
“Yea! What do your parents DO Namine?” Sora and Roxas gasped, looking at it.
Riku, on the other hand, had his eyebrow raised. “Why do those seats look… Pink.”
Sora paled. Roxas’ eyes widened. Leon looked over at Cloud quickly, who had gone completely white, stepping back slightly.
“What’s wrong?” Kairi questioned, looking from Axel to Riku and back, raising an eyebrow at each.
“Cloud doesn’t like pink…” Riku muttered. “Quick, get the blind fold.”
Leon stuffed his hand into Cloud’s backpack, pulling out a thin black piece of cloth, and flinging it over Cloud’s eyes. Axel and Leon slowly pushed Cloud into the vehicle, he slightly shivered as he sat, but otherwise he seemed to have gone back to normal. Although Namine did notice he didn’t take off the blind fold.
“Soooo… when did Cloud get such a fear of you-know-what?” Kairi asked, looking around the room, nervously.
“Not right now” Roxas received a glare from Kairi. “You don’t want to know!”
She didn’t lesson her glare, so Sora decided to step in.
“Trust me,” Sora sighed. “It’s a LONG story…”
Ok, soooo…. This is probably the longest chapter I’ve ever written, like in my life. Well, anyway, this is the first half of a chapter, but the scene changes a bit much, so I’m saving it for next time. Yea…
Teaser for next CHAPTER:
What is there between Namine and Roxas? What will happen when Sora, Roxas, and Axel get Kingdom Hearts II? And, WHY is Cloud afraid of pink?
Tune in the time after next, to find out!
