Sarah blinked and turned from his chest, only to gasp in surprise as she found herself in a different place, now well into night. She spotted the Eiffel Tower in the far distance and realized, "We're in France?"

Sarah could feel his smirk. "Yes, my dear, we are indeed in France. Not too far from Paris, as you can tell."

She spun around, taking in her surroundings. She was outside a small outdoor cafe, unable to see the inside due to the dark tinted windows. The outside was typical, each of the round glass tables with an umbrella sticking out of the middle. The chairs actually looked comfortable, the usual metal chairs having cushions on the seat and back. It was almost... quaint.

"Where are we?"

Jareth looked at her tenderly. "A little village called Écouter. I happen to know that this cafe has the best chicken, cooked any way, in both worlds."

They sat down at the table nearest to them and a waiter strolled over, greeting them in some foreign language. Jareth answered in the same rolling tongue. The waiter, who had introduced himself as Kaddar, bowed and went back inside the restaurant. Sarah looked at the Goblin King.

"What language was he speaking in," she questioned. "I studied French, and that wasn't French."

A pointed tooth smile flashed back at her. "Écouter isn't a mortal village, meaning that no mortal can find this place unless they're brought here by Fae. Now that you know it's here, you'll be able to find it anytime."

Sarah snorted. "Not that I'm planning any trips to Europe anytime soon."

"Still..."

The mortal squinted at the Fae. "So, what language was he speaking?"

"Gnomish. It's actually a rather common language, often mistaken by mortals for gibberish." He looked at her thoughtfully for a moment.

"What?" Sarah asked, checking herself over to see if she had something on her shirt or in her teeth.

"Nothing. Just thinking I should start to teach you Gnomish. You never know when it might come in handy."

Again, the dark haired young woman snorted. "I doubt it, but if you insist-"

"I do," Jareth nodded, cutting her off. Just then, Kaddar strolled up and placed a steaming plate in front of the pair, effectively stopping any argument from accruing. Beside each plate was sat a salad and in the middle of the table, a basket of fresh, crusty rolls. Along with the food came a bottle of wine and two long stemmed wineglasses. Kaddar poured the wine and backed away with another bow.

Sarah looked down at her plate, then across the table at Jareth's. Both were the same. A large strip of chicken sat atop a bed of rice and herbs. A lemony scent rose off the glaze of the chicken, as well as the scent of several herbs Sarah had no idea what the names were. Bread crumbs topped of the chicken, which was tender to cut and juicy to the bite. The girl looked at the gigantic salad next to her. "Am I suppose to eat all of this?" she wondered aloud after she swallowed her bite of chicken.

She glanced at Jareth just in time to see a hungry look leave his face. "No, of course not. You may take home what you don't eat, if you wish. The food will stay good for some time, even the salad." He cut off a piece of chicken and bit into it quite heartily, hoping that Sarah hadn't caught him staring at her, though he was certain that she had looked up just as his mask had snapped back into place. He couldn't help himself. She had looked just... delicious, cutting her chicken and then the look of pure bliss on her face as she took it into her mouth... The mere memory of it made his jeans tighten even more and he was extremely glad they were sitting. Sarah Williams was his one weakness, he was sure.

They continued their dinner, Sarah telling Jareth about her college experience thus far, including a hilarious story involving Jinii, Sarah, Jinii's boyfriend Ryan, a mutual friend named Alex, a computer and a professor at the school who was... less than friendly. Jareth, in turn, entertained Sarah with stories of the nobles in the Underground, including the Troll King, who had a habit of... Well, I can't really write it here, it would only get censored, but let's just say that Sarah would never be able to look at apples the same way again.

A few hours later found them wondering the streets of Écouter, window shopping. It was then that Sarah grabbed Jareth's hand and pulled him over to one shop, pointing at the mannequin, who was wearing an exact copy of what Jareth wore when he was trying to intimidate her in the tunnel after she escaped the oubliette. He confessed to her that he had been upset that she had gotten so far and was trying to frighten her, and how much it excited him to have her backed up against the wall, to have such... power over her. In turn, she confessed how much it excited her to have him loom over her, staring down at her. They continued on, Jareth noticing that she still hadn't let go of his hand. Of course, it just made it easier for her to drag him around. They finally ended up in a shop that was really just a Fae version of Hot Topic. When they left, neither would show the other what they had bought, only that it would be a surprise. By then, it was about five am, Paris time, and the shops had all closed.

The couple turned to each other. "Ready to go home?" Jareth asked her.

She glanced up at him through her lashes. "Only if you'll stay with me," was the quiet reply. Jareth blinked. "Wish granted," he breathed, dropping a crystal.

A/N: Someone pointed out to me that I hadn't changed the name of the village they appeared in, leaving a smart aleck comment instead. Must have uploaded the wrong file, there's only three of them on this computer alone that have the same title for this chapter... Grrrr... I'm hoping to get the next chapter up soon, have no worries!
